Animation practice ( I am starting with the basics)

As a newbie. i started an ambitious project. it was a mess . I have failed . Then I watched bunch of tutorials and I saw how people make the motion first . I decided to learn some principals of animation and did this study.

This came up on my Instagram feed. I edited and cut the video. A guy records something through his telescope. Is it a UFO or something ordinary? From the guy’s reaction, he didn’t seem impressed or interested.

With all the UFO noise this past week, I wanted to share that Pakistan has had many UFO encounters. The most famous one is from the sky of Rahim yar Khan in 2021, where PIA pilots recorded it. It got some international attention it deserves.

100 Hours In already. I feel like I am just getting Started xD

The amount of dopamine I’m getting from creating pixel art is something no video game has ever given me.

Light practice. the leafs are supposed to be green. With this light the colors of the leafs are good ? or they should be more blue

This app is just wow! I just found out that if you drag and drop a GIF in Aseprite, it turns it into a normal animation timeline. You can see frames, timing (ms), everything. This is pretty cool for study purposes.

Artwork By Maryguerite. I have a question. How did the artist blend 2 different colors so smoothly on this. In pixel art there is always a seam. i am too noob enough to understand how it was done. what trick he used. blending 2 colors together seamlessly

Left reference right one is mine. What is wrong with my art. I can tell something is definitely off. I am not trying to exactly copy the reference. i picked colors from the reference and went on creating myself

By blob i mean..I found this very cool Technique for a beginner like me..create a blob ..matching the silhouette of anything you want to make then paint like sculpting :D this really helped me compared to just drawing with line art. I am not good with line art and this technique helped me alot

This is the most effective way I found so far for a newbie like me. not making any hardsurface stuff atm but principals would be the same i guess.

I am not asking about copying other artists' work. I have been watching lots of tutorials for 2 weeks now. I have copied people's artwork and learned about base color, shading, and highlights. But the true practice and adrenaline would come from creating my own piece. However, I don’t have a 2D background. So what can I do to practice my own pixel art without following any other artist's work? I have also studied color theory and hue shifting.

One thing that seems interesting to me is picking real objects and trying to simplify them in pixel art with shapes and colors. What do you suggest? Do people with good art skills use real-life references?

When the canvas is empty, I am just too scared to begin. Copying other pixel art is too easy for me now. I just want to be in the middle ground.
