How do you become an extra in a film?

I am curious how one becomes an extra in a film? I know Vancouver has a lot of filming and I am interested to be an "extra." I don't know much about this although I did a lot of short film projects in high school and college about 10 years ago. I miss doing that and figured this might be a way I can contribute.

American / Looking for Canadian Friends!

Hi Van,

I am 29M looking for friends in Vancouver metro area. I am in the city for work and fun at least once every month or two for a few days. Currently living in Portland Oregon (5.5hrs away driving). I've got a couple friends who were here in Vancouver but they have unfortunately since moved. My work is in finance and I am a member of the Vancouver CFA society. Sometimes I drive and sometimes I fly depending how long I am staying.

I am in love with everything Canadian.

Things I am interested in:
- Hikes/Parks Stanley park, lighthouse park and David Lam park are my favorites outside of daytrips to Squamish and Whistler
- Board games (chess and others)
- Anything to do with good food (sorry I can't eat seafood I am mildly allergic & get a puffy face/throat)
- Photography
- Cars (Porsche owner & enthusiast)
- Richmond night market in the summer
- Whitecaps!!! Although I have never been to a hockey game, would be interested to go

Arelie Garcia - Salinas CA - Looking for new leads

Arelie Garcia-Sanchez went missing on September 22, 2022, after leaving her home in Salinas, California on her way to work. Her case is still unresolved. She was last seen around 6:34 a.m. leaving her apartment on Roosevelt Street in Salinas, then texted her sister that she was on the way to work. She never arrived at her job at a local car dealership. That same day, family members used the Find My iPhone app and found that her phone had last pinged on the side of Highway 1 near the Little Sur River with her phone, wallet, purse, and keys inside, and the car was locked.

If you have any information or think you may have seen her car while driving on this day contact Salinas Police Department (831) 758-7321.

Timeline

6:34am 500 block of Roosevelt Street she was seen on the apartment security cameras leaving her building and getting into her car. She is seen leaving the apartment in clothes she typically wears to the gym, not to work. She traveled westbound. It is also of note that the security camera timestamp appears to be inaccurate, the correct time would have been closer to 6:30am not 5:30am. It would have been fully dark and not dawn at 5:30am considering sunrise was at 6:55am on the day she disappeared.

6:56am a text message was sent from her phone to her sister stating "Good morning :) I miss you & my baby, love you!"

7:30am she does not show up for her scheduled work shift at MY Chevrolet in the Salinas Auto Mall which is approximately 10 minutes/5 miles from her apartment.

Morning (unconfirmed potentially also at 7:30am): a car was caught on camera passing the Carmel Highlands General Store that matches the description of her vehicle, the store is approximately 26 miles/43 minutes driving time from her home and 14 miles from where her car was ultimately found. This would be approximately 15 of additional time where something could have happened. 45 minutes after 6:34 would put it at 7:17am if she drove straight to Carmel Highlands.

10am-12pm her car is seen by the Google Street View car parked on the side of the road at the "Little Sur View Point" this is in the opposite direction of her workplace which is north west of her apartment, not southwest. The cars parked behind her car in the street view image, have been contacted by Police. None of those people saw anything with her car.

Afternoon: the family used the findmyphone app to locate where her phone was last at which was at the location of the Little Sur View Point. An extensive search was launched in the area and nothing was found.

Details worth noting:
Her drivers seat was slid back, far from where she could have driven it in that position. Her keys were found in the ignition, with some reports saying the car was locked and others saying the car was found unlocked.

Her car was not "slammed" meaning lowered to the ground. Which is something she always did when she got out of the car.

There was an instagram post, the day they found her car and the front splitter on her car appears very dirty compared to when she left in the morning, the splitter appeared clean when she left in the morning although this is a difficult detail to fully understand because the video was still fairly dark out when she left that morning.

The gym she attends is near her workplace (Montage), and would have also been only 11 minutes drive from her apartment. No sign she arrived at the gym that morning. She also tends to leave around 5:30, not 6:30 for the gym.

The final text message that was sent from her phone appears suspicious to me, it looks like it was sent approximately 30 minutes after she left her home. I have not read her writing in previous text messages, but does she text her sister every day good morning? This would be my first indication that something is wrong and it potentially was not her sending this message or she was sending it under duress. It would be something that a forensic linguist should look into to determine if it is her sending the text or not.

Where can I get Spumoni?

Hi PDX reddit, as the title suggests I am looking for some options where I can get Spumoni. It seems so hard to find it in stores these days and it feels like a dying breed. Are there any really good ones in the PDX area?

I want my wife to experience Spumoni while she can't travel at the moment due to the green card application process.

Thanks!

Costco Korean Taco Kit

Does anyone remember those Korean taco kits from costco? I am curious if anyone remembers the sauce they used or what it would have been. Its been probably 10 years since I had one but those were great. Would anyone happen to have a copycat recipe?

[Request] Help find a missing person

I am reviewing the case of Arelie Garcia and I am trying to narrow down her timing of events on that day. My trigonometry is rather shaky, and was never that good to begin with. But I am hoping someone can estimate the time of day within a defined margin of error for when the Google Street View car went through the area where her car was found, on the same day. It was September 22nd 2022 and the car was found at Little Sur View Point. The time does appear to be morning, but how early was it? Her car is here, and clearly abandoned. Perhaps one of the passing cars holds information from that day still.

I had a pretty weird experience at Costco the other day and can’t tell if this is normal or out of line. I went with my wife, and since the right lane was shorter, she had her card out and handed it to me as we walked in. We were both pushing the cart together, I scanned her card, and obviously the photo on it is her. The employee at the entrance stopped and grabbed me by the shirt/chest and yanked/pulled me aside saying the photo didn’t match me. It caught both of us off guard and scared my wife a little with how aggressive he was. Then he looked up, saw my wife standing right there (matching the photo), and just kind of dropped it. We continued on shopping and left after getting a couple things. Its been bugging me for a few days now at how weird of an experience that was. Is this against policy?
