I have this dolphin nautilus cc plus wifi for two+ years. Into six months or so, wifi starts to crap out and I have to reset the unit. I eventually use it without wifi and automate (starting and stoping) with the help with a smart plug since it starts the operation when power is supplied for the first time. Then about a year in, membrane-type switch on the power supply cracks and I protect the unit with a few layers of saranwraps and I rarely have the need for the switch. I also recently invested in cover (found an amazon) to protect the unit.

This week the cleaner does not turn on when power is on; there is green light on it.

1. I replace the power supply with $399 unit found on their site. this is a gamble since I have not really done proper diagnosis that the power supply is faulty.
2. take it to some repair shop nearby; their charges may end up totaling a new unit (about 1k in 4/2024)
3. throw this away and try cordless. I have not done much research and am concerned about having to charge it more than once a week.
4. Since I have a professional cleaning service once a week, forget maintaining this cleaner. I only bought this to replace a booster pump operated mechanical cleaner. I do have trees around the pool and during certain part of the year flowers and leaves pollute the pool. If I go with no vacuum cleaner route, am I only looking at lots of leaves in the pool during certain months or is there more issue I have not thought about.

What do people deal with this? Will I be a fool to invest more in maytronics brand ?

i volunteer as a treasurer in a community group; we file 990 as a 501c4. we had been on cash basis with one checking account since the beginning. for a variety of reasons we r considering adopting credit card.

1. one of the reasons is to protect us from unscrupulous vendors. in your own experience is charges on debit cards have on the same level of protection as on cc? i have spoken to my bank about recent debit card charges regarding this protection and she reassured me that i can dispute these within 30 days of statement closing

2. credit card application asks for my own personal details such as income, ssn, address as well as business details. while i don't mind giving these out if necessary for the application, i am concerned about the implications after i leave the organization. do anyone knows what happened to the credit card account after the one who applied is gone?

3. they also asked for the physical address to ship the credit card. we have pobox only and i had been using my home address in the past when some online vendors require a physical address. how do people deal with the need for physical address in general. renting a shop just for few requirements is not in our budget either. i have heard of something like private (non usps) boxes. do u have good experiences with these especially as a primary address of your org

We have a new charge labelled upgrade fee (one time charge).

We went to apple a month ago to replace an iPhone; apple did the switch over of cellular to new iPhone. I suspect they charge me for changing my own phone using my own money. Is there a way I can get out of this?

edited: i called in and after 40minutes of arguing and being put on hold, they have waived the fee. hopefully i wasn't lied to. 😤

my teenager (driving alone) was in a collision with a motorcycle on freeway. noone get hurt. we first filed a claim against the other party's insurance for collision. since they will not admit liability we then file with our insurance.

we paid our own deductible and repair was done. our insurance wrote that they will try to claw back from the other insurance. later they wrote that they will enter into arbitration.

then a few days ago our insurance said they were able to refund me half of deductible and i deposited money into my account. so i naturally assumed that we are 50% liable for the collision and the other insurance gave 50% of total cost to repair

but the next day we got two letters ( dated 6/23) from the other insurance that they will not pay us a dime

so which is the correct story. my guess is that my insurance will refund me nothing if they recover zero from other party

i am contemplating about replacing my perfectly working pump with variable as an investment and for lower noise. two questions: if you are supposed to be running at low speed 24x7 why aren't there just low speed pumps to install? is there a good ecological way to get rid of my existing pumps?

i opened cash management account more than a week ago. initial deposit was taken from my chase account on 6/15. i activated cma debit card yesterday and fidelity shows the initial deposit as pending and available to withdraw is zero

i have two iphones 15. one with active att line and another (#2) without any cellular plan. i use #2 as a backup. it's functional completely on wifi except i cannot make outgoing calls

i can make calls to phone numbers from my mac and ipads and i assume the iphone #2 would work just like them when it's connected to the same wifi

we (us residents & never singaporean) visit our family every few years and recently had been staying in a hotel farther away from their hdb. grab works well for us for going between hotel and hdb. everytime i thought about renting a car i had no idea how parking will work especially the local family doesn't have a car. can i park my rental car in the parking garage attached to their hdb for a fee?
