are friction ankle injuries caused by mid jordans fixed with crew socks?

hey! it was my first time wearing mid-cut jordans, and i have the stupid idea of wearing ankle socks with them. that caused two really fucking painful blisters to appear on both my ankles, and left me praying to take them off the whole day.

that being said, is this a skin related problem or is the solution literally just wearing nike crew socks?
