question about focal lengths

SOLVED! >!is an aps-c 50mm lens on an aps-c body equivalent to a full frame 50mm lens on a full frame body? i tried using only 50mm on my d5100 with an aps-c 18-105 and it felt really tight compared to 35mm. so was i actually technically using 75mm or is that just how 50mm is?!<

has anyone tried this nex-7 grip extension on an nex-6?

i find my nex-6 to be kinda uncomfortable, and this is the only grip extension i could really find that might fit on it. i don't have a 3d printer, so i don't want to waste time getting it 3d printed and shipped to me to see that it doesn't fit quite right.

i need a new android tv box for my "dumb tv".

i already have a ccwgtv hd, but it's so incredibly slow. for now i've had to use my macbook connected to it which has good performance, but it's a messy setup. all i need is 1080p60, a menu that doesn't lag and preferably sideloading for smarttube.

first plasma TV!

it's a panasonic TX-P42GT20E. i originally bought it to play 7th gen consoles with, but it might be my new main TV. i've never seen a plasma before, and it looks really nice. i'm moving in about a week and don't really have the space for 2 TVs so i'll probably just stick with this and give my current tv to my mom. that's how good it is lol.

can this philips crt tv be operated w/o a remote?

it's a philips 21HT5404/01Z. i'm planning on buying one for 40€, but it doesn't come with the remote. ik it's unlikely that someone else here has this, but does anyone know if you can change the settings and input without the remote? i have a feeling that the buttons on the front are for changing channels and adjusting the clock on the front. it would be a shame if the settings were all fucked up and i couldn't change them.

anyone else's 13 suddenly way slower?

my mom's regular 13 at 85% BH is way slower now. like on the level of ios 26.0 on an iphone 11. i have a 13 pro and it's not nearly as bad, although the battery health is 100% (idk if that's true or not tho cuz this is refurbished). apparently some people on tiktok have this issue too.

jesus the canon ixus 80 can focus close…

it might not come across well in these pictures, but the lens was like a few millimeters away from the keyboard in the last image. insane that it can focus closer than any other camera in my house!

can you stream videos and music from a media server on ios 6?

i'm thinking of making a media server out of a raspberry pi, but i was wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can stream from a media server using vlc or something.

anyone else find DSLRs to be more fun to shoot than mirrorless?

i have a nikon D5100 and sony NEX-6, and i don't know if it's the ergonomics or the optical viewfinder or what, but the nikon is so much more fun to shoot with. don't get me wrong, mirrorless is still great and i'd take the NEX-6 over the D5100 because i wouldn't be stuck on a dead lens mount, but it is still so fun to shoot. now, i haven't even held a bigger, more ergonomic mirroless camera like a sony a7 or nikon Z5 but i still think that a DSLR might still be more fun. does anyone else have similiar feelings or is this just me?

is a wacom intuos3 (PTZ-630) a good mouse replacement for 30€?

i already have a tablet (xp-pen star G640) but it's small and uncomfortable, and the pen is hard to press because i only recently started using it again after 3 years. i know the intuos3 isn't supported anymore driver wise, but do i really need the latest drivers anyway? i'm on windows 10 LTSC. i would be using this for web browsing, photo editing and maybe some gaming here and there but nothing competitive. there are other models as well for a similar price, so this isn't my only option.

so, is the intuos3 still good in 2026? is it still accurate? is the driver software still good enough?

looking for a slim and light prime lens for my sony nex-6

i want it to be around 20-35mm and at least f2.8, and not fixed aperture. my budget is 200€ and i live in finland. preferrably autofocus but manual is fine too. i've been looking at the AF 27mm f2.8 by TTartisan. i could get that for about 200 incl. shipping, but i just wanted to know if there was something better that i should consider.

must consoom nikon

i don't care if they're "good deals" or "so rare that i just HAD to get them!", cuz that shit adds up. sure, get a few lenses you like. get a few upgrades when you need it. but i know for a damn fact that you don't use all that.
