#75 The Circus
Can anyone give me a little hint to move forward with this one because I’m not seeing anything. I still don’t know the three roles. I believe there are four empty columns but no idea which.

Hello!
Upon your recommendations I bought a Gentle Rain as my first solo BG and love it. I'm ready to buy number 2. I've been creating a list on Board Game Geek and I'm thinking that staying in fairly low complexity games for now is still my best bet while I get more comfortable and to avoid frustration. I like puzzles a lot but also like all things cozy, books, reading, mysteries (as long as not super graphic), sci-fi, and outer space. All of these games are less than 2.5 complexity on BGG. Can anyone recommend those you think are good for someone new and that play well solo? Thank you!

Hi all,
Got influenced and discovered the Aura Estelle Daily B6. https://www.auraestelle.com/collections/2027-magnet-release
I think this setup is honestly something I've been looking of for a while with the month, week, and days grouped together like this, and I love the weekly dashboard.
That said, I'm struggling to click Buy on a $60 planner in August that I won't use for 4.5 months.
What do y'all think? If this is the one should I just grab it? But who knows what life will bring the rest of the year?
Do you think AE will run out of stocky by Nov/Dec? Or do they keep restocking?
Thoughts and feels welcome!
The clue states that Gwen is “not with Axel.” Does that mean he’s not in the same car as she is or he’s not in the same room (Parking Lot) at all?
Hello friends,
I'm working on a collage piece where the pieces will be adhered directly onto a glass window. Viewer on one side, then glass, then papers adhered to the glass.
I'm sure many have seen Betye Saar's piece Black Girl's Window as an exemplar.
https://www.moma.org/collection/works/167631
It says she used "cut-and-pasted printed and painted papers" so I'm assuming she somehow adhered these to the glass.
I ran a test with Golden gloss medium and it was just okay. I painted medium onto the glass, then onto the paper before adhering, then did another coat on top.
Still not dry after several hours with quite a few air bubbles.
I could try this again using less medium? Maybe just place some onto the side of the paper I want to stick to the glass?
Or, is there another medium or method with which I might adhere papers to glass?
Thanks for any insights?
Hi all,
I’m a mom in my 40s and my son is getting into solo gaming and it’s getting me interested. I saw a game today at the store with him called Pax Transhumanity that looked so cool, but researching it and it seems too complex for a newbie like me. Any beginner games you could recommend?
I like sci fi, cozy, strategy. Was very into the positive future and environmental aspects of Pax. Love mysteries too. TIA!
Hello! My family and I are planning to visit in February. I'm seeing lodging options downtown or just over the bridge in Kittery. We will have a car, but walking from home can be nice. But we also value quiet. That said, we plan to travel mid-week and in February so I wouldn't expect downtown to be too loud? Any obvious reasons to choose one option over the other? TIA!
Hi all,
I'm currently in a Hobonichi Weeks and really like it. I'm a "nothing fancy" kinda planner and use it for functional planning and sometimes add some easy stickers for quick decoration.
Something I'm noticing lately is that (likely because I'm AuDHD) I tend to underestimate the amount of time my daily tasks will take. So on the left side of the weekly spread, I usually include set appointments, and on the right side, I make my list of daily tasks I want to accomplish including hobbies, exercise, etc. Increasingly, I notice I list too many things that I can't realistically get to in that day. I suspect this is due to some ADHD time blindness.
I've been thinking it might be better for me to move into a vertical weeks that has hours listed. That way, I could write out a time estimate for each task and plug it into a specific time to help me develop a greater awareness of time. This would also serve to boost self-esteem in that I'll be more likely to be able to accomplish my daily goals and set priorities.
I love the Weeks size so much. Not only the dimensions but also how thin it is in particular. And again, I'm a fan of the simplicity. Also, I'm realizing that most planners don't have a mid-year start. Finally, I've tried undated planners and they don't really work for me as I just don't have the executive function stamina to keep up with dating things. I much prefer dated.
Any recommendations? Do you know of any thin (ish) planners with vertical weekly and hours? Any that are a July start?
I have my eyes on the Jibun Techo which seems like it would at least hit some of these requirements, although I don't think it does the July start.
TIA!
Hello! This recent wildfire smoke has motivated me to think about becoming a community scientist with Purple Air. I'm frustrated by the difficulty in getting accurate AQ readings for my area. There's not a gov sensor anywhere close to me.
Has anyone done this with Purple Air? How was the experience. I see the air sensor is about $300. Did you find that it gave accurate readings? Was upkeep difficult or no?
Thanks for any insights!
Visiting for the week and the air quality looks no bueno tomorrow. What are y'all gonna do to not go crazy being at the beach without being able to go to the beach.
P.S. The new normal SUCKS.
We are in NJ on vacation and looks like we'll be hit hard by the wildfire smoke tomorrow. The downstairs of our house is central air but upstairs bedrooms are window units. We just checked and it is well-sealed and set to pull air in from the room and cool to recirculate, not to pull air in from the outside. Is it safe to sleep in this room or better to sleep downstairs in the central air?
You guys. My doc prescribed vaginal estrogen for just my entire pelvic region being a dried up husk and frequent urination. I go to get it at CVS today and the woman tells me it's $106 and that's basically for a month's supply. I have BCBS and haven't paid for an RX in ten years; they are always free.
The pharmacist came over and I said can I get generic and she said this is generic, it's .01% estradiol cream. She then said the pill is the same and that you cannot even get the patch bc it's backordered.
What is going on? Are y'all paying for your estrogen????
Does anyone know where I could stream the French film Les Amants du Flore? It’s on AppleTV France but I’m based in the US. Thank you!
Hey all,
Is there any rhyme or reason to the yoga schedule in terms of days/times for certain teachers or classes, or is it random? Trying to get into a consistent routine. TIA!
I noticed this morning in one of my courses where there's also high AI use that I have more Fs and missing assignments, ghosting students, than I think I've ever seen before in many years of teaching. Have you all noticed this?
I think we have this idea that students are posting AI content to get through courses and get to their degree, but I'm wondering if doing that is actually really depressing and demoralizing and hard to motivate to keep up with?
If AI makes it so easy to complete, why wouldn't we be seeing course persistence rates go up? What do y'all think?
Anyone teaching at Post University in CT who can share salary info and general vibes?
Would someone be so kind as to introduce me to the advisor recs? TIA!
Our neighbors moved out of their 500k home in a great neighborhood around March 1st. The place has been sitting empty since then, so for almost three months. The yard is now totally overgrown which is annoying because of ticks etc and it just looks like crap.
We were cordial with them but not on a friend basis, so we don't know what happened. The husband came back once last month, put a bunch of crap on the lawn and people were coming to pick it up, Craigslist listings I assume. He was driving a new car with tags from a different state than where we live.
Is this likely a foreclosure and it just takes a few months for the bank to move? Or are they so flush with cash that they don't need to list the home? I just cannot figure out the mentality of having a home worth that much that you can afford to let sit empty? What am I missing?
Just discovered the amazing Rex Ray. As you can see in the pictures, he's rolling his paint or ink onto a wood block and then stamping it onto his paper. My question is, is it paint, ink, a mix, or something else? In photo 3 you can see him mixing it. Thank you!
