From 1977. Probably PA, NJ or NY?

Not hold out much hope since there's not a lot of detail and not the best quality.

This is 8mm silent film taken during a family trip.

Thanks

EDIT: I believe it has been solved. This appears to be Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I did a quick search and I found this video on YouTube...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lze6ump7DnI

At 2:25 there is a train very similar to the video I posted. Their video was also recorded in in 1977.

So, there you go. Thank you to all of you who helped. I do appreciate it.

Is county executive Craig Guy completely clueless??

I received this letter in the mail from his office explaining how they are out of money and trying to justify a tax increase. He also goes on to claim how wonderful he thinks he is.

So, how much of our taxpayer money did he just waste mailing these letters to all of the residents of Hudson County? This is completely unnecessary. How is this Guy even holding office? (Pun intended)

Do the Mets suck at everything?

So, I’m going to the Marlins / Mets game tomorrow (August 2) and I just got this email from the Mets. The first line reads…

“After the conclusion of Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets game on Sunday, Aug 2, ….”

The Dodgers? The Mets can’t even get the correct opposing team in their email blasts. Doesn’t anyone with the Mets even proof these emails before they are sent out?

For the record, I’m a Marlins fan.

I've been seeing a lot of lease takeover posts on this subreddit.

Are a lot of people just bailing on Jersey City? Is it because the economy is tanking?

Wakayama Electric Railway Kishigawa Line question

I will be visiting Wakayama city in November and I was thinking of riding the Wakayama Electric Railway Kishigawa Line from Wakayama Station to Kishi Station to see the cat station master. I was wondering are there any recommended sights to see at any of the other stops along this line? I'm planning on getting the day pass so I can hop on and off along the way.

Thank you.

New Oticons keep dying.

Back in January I got my new Oticon hearing aids and since then the units keep dying. Twice for the left and once for the right. Only once dies at a time, not both at the same time. No, they do not connect to one another. They both operate independently. They are both the in-the-ear model, not over the ear. They seem to die when the battery gets low and needs to be replaced. Each time I take them back and they get sent off for repairs since there are well within warranty. Then, a short time later, another once dies. The place where I got them from aren't very helpful. They just tell me to keep bringing them back. This really sin't helpful since this seems to be an ongoing thing.

A little background, this is my third set of Oticons and the last two never gave me any trouble like this. I had them for years with no issues. No, it's not a cleaning problem or anything like that. The unit is just dead. No chimes...nothing.

Any advise would be helpful.

Thank you.

These effin' helicopters!!!!

All night tonight flying right above our building. I'm so sick of this. Our pathetic politicians do NOTHING about it. They care more about these effin' tourists than they do about the people who live here. So, sick of this.

One month’s bill is consistently higher than the rest

We rent an apartment and about four years ago our power company switched out the meters to one they get the readings remotely. Since then the bill for May is double what we pay every other month.

A little background. We don’t pay for AC or heat. The building we live in has central heat and AC for the building. So, that is not a factor. Also, we don’t have that average billing option.

The power company has come out and inspected the meter and they claim there are no issues. They also swapped the meters. They also claim there isn’t another until accidentally wired into our meter.

So, does anyone have an idea on what’s going on here? We run the same basic appliances the same all year long. The meter states everything is about the same for 11 months, but in May the meter says we more than double our energy usage, but we don’t do anything different that month. It has been doing this consistently every May for the last four years.

Any idea on what is going on?

Looking to park illegally all day without getting a ticket?

It seems all you have to do is hang a yellow construction safety vest from your car’s passenger door. JCPD will totally ignore your vehicle. Park in a fire lane? No problem. Block a fire hydrant? No issue. Block a wheelchair sidewalk ramp? No problem. Block a bike lane? Not an issue for JCPD.

Do we have any idea on what time the World Cup sh!t show starts tomorrow (Saturday)?

I have to take the 126 bus into the city from Hoboken tomorrow around 10:00am. Do we think the roads will at or close to normal at that time or should I just work my way to PATH?

Is the upper deck open on the NY Waterway ferry from Hoboken Terminal to Brookfield Place?

I'm looking to take a break from PATH and use the ferry every so often since the weather is nice.

Thanks

While the weekend reopening of the Hoboken to WTC is long overdue, the spin that the Port Authority is using to blame the closure 9/11 is pure BS.

Blaming the closure of the Hoboken to WTC weekend line because of 9/11 is 100% garbage. The weekend line did reopen after the WTC station reopened in 2003. Then PATH shut down the Hoboken to WTC weekend line down in 2007 due to (which the PA claimed) was to accommodate the construction of the 9/11 museum and that the line would reopen after that construction was finished. Obviously BS on the PA part. They kept it closed to save money.
