FASTag deducted ₹295 for a toll plaza my car never crossed. ICICI Bank and NHAI are sending me in circles.

Today at 8:12 PM, I received an SMS saying that ₹295 had been deducted from my ICICI FASTag for crossing Bhagwanpur Toll Plaza at 6:00 AM on 3 July.
The problem is that my vehicle was never anywhere near Bhagwanpur Toll Plaza. My car was parked at home, and I wasn’t even in that area.
I immediately called ICICI Bank to report the unauthorized deduction. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told to raise a dispute through their portal. The problem is that the dispute option they asked me to use doesn’t even exist.
I then called the NHAI helpline (1033). The representative asked me for a 14-digit Transaction ID. I called ICICI again, and they only provided a 10-digit reference number. When I contacted them again, they explained that FASTag transactions only have a Trip ID, not the Transaction ID that NHAI was asking for.
I called 1033 again and explained everything from the beginning. This time, I was told their system was not working and was asked to stay on hold. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the call got disconnected. Since then, every time I call 1033, the call either disconnects or doesn’t go through.
This experience raises some serious questions:
● How can toll be deducted when my vehicle never crossed that toll plaza?
● Is the FASTag system secure?
● Why is it so easy to buy and recharge a FASTag, but so difficult to report fraud?
● Why are ICICI Bank and NHAI giving conflicting information instead of helping customers?
Has anyone here experienced something similar? If yes, how did you get your money back or get the issue resolved?
I’ll also be filing complaints with NHAI and the consumer grievance authorities. Any advice would be appreciated.

Reaching the city in about a hour ..anyone up for a chill meetup?

Currently on the road and should be in the city in about an hour.... No fixed plans for the day, just looking to relax, grab a coffee, explore a place, have some good conversations, maybe play games arcade , or just hang out
anyone free and interested in a casual meetup, feel free to drop a comment or send a dm.. Open to meeting new people and seeing where the day goes..

Tried Caha Cafe in Gorakhpur today — absolutely loved it! ☕✨

Visited Caha Cafe today, and honestly, the aesthetics are on another level. The moment I walked in, it felt like one of those cafes you usually only see on Instagram. 😅✨
Iced Latte 10/10
Smooth, refreshing, and probably one of the best iced lattes I’ve had in Gorakhpur.
Ambience
Easily the highlight of the place. Every corner looks photo-worthy, and the overall vibe is cozy, premium, and relaxing.
🚬 Smoking Room
They also have a separate smoking room for those who smoke, which is a nice touch and keeps the main seating area comfortable for everyone.
😂 Came for a coffee, left with 47 photos and a superiority complex because my coffee looked better than me.
Overall, a really good experience. Great coffee, great ambience, and a place I’d definitely visit again.
Has anyone else tried it? Any food or drink recommendations for my next visit?

Is it just me, or has Parle-G gone through some serious shrinkflation?

I still remember when I was a kid my grandfather would buy a single ₹2 packet, split it in half, and give one half to me and the other to my brother. That ₹2 pack felt bigger than this ₹5 pack does today.

Now the packets seem so much smaller. Prices have gone up, but the quantity keeps shrinking. Inflation isn’t just showing up in the price tag anymore it’s showing up in the size of the packet too.

Anyone else feel like snacks used to last a lot longer back then? 😅
