Trying to read all the books I already own
I went around my house today and made a list of all the books I have but haven't read. Trying to work through all of them, and anything I dnf is going to a free little library in town. No clue where to start. What do you suggest I pick up first? Most of these were grabs from the discount bin at the local used bookstore I used to frequent. Some, I have absolutely no idea how they came to me. I don't even know what some of these are about or their genre. But I'm running out of space for new books and I need to figure out what here I'm missing out on by not reading and what is taking up space and preventing me from getting other books.

Warning for anyone who shops at Target
I shop at Target when I need something specific and I always shop in person in the store and use self-checkout. Three times now I have noticed that when an item is on sale, it does not ring up at the sale price.
Yesterday I bought a book with a 30% off sticker on it but at the self-checkout it rang up at full price. A few weeks ago I bought some protein bars that showed in the app that they were on sale both online and in store, but they rang up at the full price. A few weeks before that I bought some cheese that was on sale, there was a sign on the shelf where I got it, but it rang up at full price.
For each of these purchases I needed to call over an employee and have them manually adjust the cost to the sale value.
If you are shopping at Target and using self-checkout, you cannot assume that any sale value is being honored without you double checking it.
This is especially horrible when you consider the things that you might be purchasing only because you feel like it is a good deal or the sale price is the thing that makes it worth it to buy. I generally don't buy books or cheese at Target, the only reason I even had those items with me and check out was because the sale price was reasonable.
tl:dr - Target is stealing from its customers, hoping that you are not paying attention while checking out.
My five year old just said "what the sigma"
Does anyone have a dictionary for the stage of parenting I'm apparently entering now? He's called me bro and dude a couple of times before, but I knew what those meant. I'm lost with the sigma (although he doesn't seem to know what it means either at the moment).
Busy In Brooklyn did not *invent* coconut water before a fast
It's so exhausting how she posts before every fast 'I invented a trend and now every store sells out because of me'
She's so full of herself. I don't know why but of all the food influencers I've seen I find her to be the most insufferable
Previous years self inking stamp
I'm looking for a stamp like this with month day year, but I need the year to start in 2020 or 2021. Everything I've found online starts with 2026. I'm also open to a stamp with individual bands for each year character but I haven't found that either

One more daycare payment
We had been doing alright, but things have been getting tighter and tighter the last few months. We paid the daycare today. We have one more payment for August. Then we're on to public kindergarten. We're going to have to pay for after school care, but we should have at least a thousand dollars a month of the daycare expense that will be back in our pockets. We're increasing 401k contributions immediately, but I'm hoping I can feel like we have an ounce of breathing room again. Cannot wait for compensation adjustments later this year
What is your average phone screen time like in 2026?
I'm curious to hear from other people in their 30s and 40s. A few years ago I was at like 4 hours a day and I thought that was bad. Now I'm at like 7-10 hours a day and I'm not even sure how it's possible. A lot of stats seem to focus on Gen z or alpha, or cover everyone
Is there a good resource for finding in person tutoring?
I'm looking for an in-person CPA tutor in Westchester County or Manhattan (but ideally Westchester). I'm having no luck searching online. Do you know of any good ways to connect with in person tutoring options?
Cottage cheese, strawberries, nectarine, honey, and basil on sourdough
Burrata cream (stracciatella) and Bonne Maman orange yuzu grapefruit spread on sourdough

Avoiding Grand Central for the World Cup traffic
How bad are you expecting Grand Central and the Metro North to be for the World Cup? Are you going to be working from home more over the next few weeks? I have no idea what to expect but I'd prefer to avoid a difficult commute whenever possible
