wanting to help my bf

hi everyone! so ive been dating my boyfriend for over a year, and hes been struggling with RRMS. he got diagnosed in 2022 at the age of 18, so its be a struggle for him to over come in. he was struggling earlier today with the heat, and i was listening to him and told him "I understand" with something he said and he blew up on me because "I dont since I dont have ms" and I completely understand his point.

can anyone help me with what to say and how to comfort him, I wanna help cause I don't want him struggling alone but I know I cant cause I dont understand it from a personal experience.

and could anyone help me learn a little bit more, I know some from what hes told me and my own research but I wanna be further educated.

AITA for wanting to get my bfs dad a father's day gift?

update

hello all, thank you for all the feedback I can understand both sides.

for those asking how much I've seen/hanged out with his dad, it has been way over 100 times.

those saying my bf is scared of that the commitment with me, he had gave me a promise ring early on and has talked about our future, marrying me and wanting to start a live together, so I genuinely don't believe it is that way.

about his temper, hes been struggling with an autoimmune disease and adding the hot temperature lately, hes been alot more short tampered but its not just with me tho. and everytime he'd raise his voice or yell at me, hed apologize afterward.

I do see his point about it sending a weird message in a way. growing up he was and still is the black sheep of his 4 siblings. with him still getting treated like that today, it does effect how me and his parents relationships are. whenever his siblings come by, me and my bf end up getting ignored. but they have told him multiple times that they like me and have invited me to family events.

side note, we had already found a "dad joke" sign from hobby lobby together before this happened, so I thought this would be fun to add to the original gift we found.

AITA for slowly ghosting a friend after a break up?

I (20f) and my friend (25f) have been friends for almost 2 years. since we have been friends she's been in a relationship (25m). they were so borderline toxic. he had cheated on her at there one year mark and was making inappropriate pictures of random people and also his adopted niece.

fast forward to last month, they was bickering all the time. there wasn't a single day where i did not hear something negative about the guy. they cant live together till they get married, and she lives two hours away from them. he wouldn't make time to see her and expected her to visit him and he got a dog that she has made numerous remarks that she didnt like.

this is where I might be the asshole. after she finally broken up with him, she was constantly texting my bf (22m) for advice. i didn't really had an issue with it till she would start spamming him constantly. my bf and her have only met a few days prior, and she was telling him things and being hella vulnerable to someone she wasn't close with. my bf had told me it was getting weird and he felt uncomfortable with how obsessive she was texting him, but he was happy to help cause thats how he is.

me and her was talking one day and i said im glad you have my bf to talk to and hes able to help. she kept saying "I feel weird cause it feels like im crossing a boundary" but would keep doing it even though she "didnt wanna become besties with my bf".

after a while of her expressing all these feelings to me, it started to make me feel uncomfortable. I have a bad habit of connecting with people's feelings and what there going through on a emotional level. me and my bf had "broken up" for a week earlier this year and everything she told me was just making me relive past emotions and make me question my own relationship since I never really healed from that. (I say 'break up' in quotes cause it was really just a misunderstanding that we couldn't give each other what we needed, and we got back together a week later and have been better than ever).

I started to slowly speak to her more and more now. but I feel bad for ghosting her a little, even though i was trying to protect my peace cause it was effecting me. so aita for ghosting her?

I physically don't have the motivation to clean

okay im starting this off by stating that I have adhd, not using it as an exuse, but staying it could be effecting it.

ive always had a hard time cleaning or getting into a habit of cleaning my room. my room is the typical "depression" room and will stay like that for a couple mo ths to a year.

I just dont have the motivation or best tips to clean up and being able to be capable of keeping it clean. I really want to get into that mindset in order to boost my room and living situation, plus im planing to move in with my boyfriend in a couple years and don't wanna be a slob.

does anyone have any tips or organization ideas that you could give me in order to help keep my room clean and have that motivation.

AITA for wanting to get my bfs dad a father's day gift?

I (20f), have been dating my bf (22m) for little over a year now. while working the Friday before father's day, I saw a cookie cake with the words "dad joke loading" on it. i wanted to get it for his father, since both my bf and his dad love dad jokes.

I took a picture and sent it to my bf asking if I could get this for him, and he instantly got mad. he told me "i would send a weird message" if I gave him that since hes not my father yet. and ended the conversation with, "you just need to not take everything so personally, not every sentence has a hidden meaning"

I told him that it didnt even say anything about him being my father and I was just trying to be thoughtful. he told me that "he said what he said" and the conversation ended after that. i didnt think it was a big deal, but maybe it was.

so aita for wanting to give my bfs dad a father's day gift?

conflicted on boyfriends family

me (20f) and my bf (22m) have been dating for over a year. at the start of the relationship his family seemed to like me and welcome me. in February we had a lil issue and we broke up for a week, but got back together and there was no bad blood. after that it seemed like his family disliked me more. his parents seem to enjoy my presence, but when his siblings come home, me and him always get pushed to the side and forgotten. any advice on what to do and try to build a connection with them?

aita for standing up to my uncle about how he makes me feel?

i (20f) have always had a strained relationship with my family on my dad's side. I was the youngest grandchild, plus I was labeled the "favorite", so there was a little resentment from my two older cousins. another reason was i never got along with my uncle (60s).

since I was a toddler, my uncle was constantly picking on me and tickling me, saying he did it as a way to make me laugh. the thing is, I had repeatedly told him that I hated it and made me uncomfortable. he has never respected my feelings and continued to do it, even though I'm about to be 21 this year.

what finally pushed me over the edge was my grandma's birthday. i was sitting at a table with my boyfriend when my uncle came up behind us, with his handgun visble in his waist band, and started making jokes about taking my boyfriend out back and he could make him "disappear". it made the both of us extremely uncomfortable. this may be his way of a joke, but growing up i had learned he abused my aunt, so these jokes from him don't seem harmless. when i had told him to leave me alone and it was making me uncomfortable, he ended up being offended like I was the rude one.

the next day I was talking to my parents and my boyfriend about it, and i ended up breaking down because of all the overwhelming emotions. i wrote a long message with everything I had wanted to say to him, and my dad ended up sending it to his sister as a way to get it to my uncle. after a few hours my older cousin texted me "you always just wanna start shit".

after that, I had noticed my aunt, uncle and two cousins had blocked me on everything. im talking Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and even TikTok. tbh I don't really mind because I can finally go no contact with them. I just find it childish because thats the way they decided to take care of the matter, but it must have not been too important because they never talked to my grandmother about it.

so, aita for finally standing up and telling my uncle off about how he makes me feel?
