Aggressive pruning

My lilacs were getting overgrown and full of young oak trees. Some people would get the fiskars, I fired up the Ford.

Was Durin's Bane a threat to anyone outside Moria?

What would the Balrog have done if Gandalf had just boogied on out of Moria with the others and went on to defeat Sauron as in canon?

Marshall formation

Can I run a 10 gpm sprinkler off my residential well occasionally to water my potato patch or am I risking damaging my well or making it run dry? The pump is a 1/2 hp submersible hung at 140' depth. My well is a 185' bore, the profile is sand, clay, sandy clay, clay, clay and gypsum, and 40 feet of Marshall Formation sandstone at the bottom. I am no expert but know enough that I can probably understand a reasonably technical explanation. Thanks!

Should I buy tri rib tires or 4 ribs?

What are some advantages and disadvantages of each? My tractor needs new front tires. It is used for mowing, snow plowing, cultivating, and occasional loader work once I get my FEL installed. Pics from a couple of listings on FB marketplace.

Easiest way to clean potatoes

I got a brand new toilet brush, removed the top part of the handle so I can chuck it into a 3/4" drill. Dump the spuds in a large kettle or a 5 gallon bucket, put in enough water to cover them well, and get busy. So much easier than scrubbing by hand.

Anyone else ever get tired of the Stanley Screamer?

Anyone know of a good quiet upgrade for the farm and fleet "muffler" that's only just less noisy than a straight pipe? This thing is loud and I'd like to still have some hearing left in a few years. I'm thinking of buying a muffler intended for a small buick or like that but I don't know how to tell how much quieter it'll be without the catcon and ten feet or so of exhaust pipe it would have under a car.

Cultivator rookie, how'd I do?

Cultivator rookie here to learn. This is only the second time I've ever used one. I grew up on a farm but never really got into the dirt until a few years ago, I've always been more into the repair side of things than farming with tractors. I started gardening literally as an excuse to put more hours on my equipment. Turns out garden potatoes are delicious and there's always people wanting what we can't eat.

Donut gasket

How tight should the donut gasket be on a 1997 vortec 7.4 with 100% stock exhaust? Mine is leaking slightly - was replaced a year or two ago at some shop - and I want to tighten it without breaking anything.

Child of the Rings

"A mortal, Frodo, who keeps one of the Great Rings, does not die, but he does not grow or obtain more life, he merely continues, until at last every minute is a weariness."

If a human (or hobbit) child obtained one of the Great Rings, would they remain a child, until at last they became a child nazgul, or would they become an adult before slipping forever into the shadows?
