Latest look is inspired by Hanako from SplendeeD - idk maybe it's the joy of learning but I get excited I LOOOVE practicing my make!!! I feel as though even when the look doesn't turn out the way I want I learn new things and I get more insight.
Definitely can see where I need to improve but! Feel as though I'm making progress
Vampire Princess Miyu follows the magical girl rulebook pretty well - magical powers, 90s magical girl animation style, transformation scene (kinda?) and typical monster of the week format.
The only thing is, Miyu is morally grey. Her role is the guardian and to return stray shimna to the darkness. She does not save their victims nor interfere with their fate. She feels sorry for them as the show progresses but she's loyal to her role and her role prohibits her from interfering.
Would you consider Vampire Princess Miyu a magical girl?
this stuff is soooo cute but all these brands listed don't exist anymore !!! where can I find similar brightly colored clothing !!! and BOOTS!
ive read a few shoujosei based around the fashion and entertainment industry and I am HOOKED! I've read makeup with mud, chihiro-kun only has eyes for me, paradise kiss & neighborhood story, the one. currently on my read list is real clothes and walkin' butterfly.
would love some recommendations with a similar premise to what I've listed!!!!
basically all but two of the gals are from angeleek and I'm not sure of the identity of the last four gals!
i see all the time of things like "baby gals shouldn't use white in their droop" or "the droop should start from where the pupil is" and I think that tends to be a bit misleading, especially when there are examples of heisei era gals doing the exact opposite. what INSTEAD is important is mastering the basics before moving on to experimenting!!! because if you're not following any framework you're gonna end up with something that won't be identifiable as gyaru - you earn the freedom to create your own ya/manba look once you fully understand the fundamentals.
i also wanted to touch on the misconception that ya/manba make is supposed to look messy. no, it is not - look at all the references I've collected!! they all look clean and polished, sure the application may be messy but the end result is what matters and the end result isn't messy!
so to baby gals / those new to gyaru, you can absolutely try new things with your make just make sure to learn the basics first!
majority of these gals are from angeleek but some are from splendeeD + similar gyarusa (hanako + yukacchu) i also am not aware of the identities of the gals in the last image.

Found this build a bear giant pumpkin kitty by chance at the thrift store for $12 and now she is mine forever. (Me for size reference, she is very very big)
Found at Kmart, Aus. Definitely can see the draculaura inspiration!
I have been SCOURING the internet for information and I literally have found like, nothing. I really want to know the names of the members (the wikia page has the names of all the members, but no photos attached for most - I know kanapanda, kaori & yuki and that's it) I am so intrigued by the group and I want to know more about who they were, their specific makeup styles (and what type of kuro gal they were) but I can't find anything!!!! if anyone has more knowledge please enlighten me 🙏🙏
for instance I learnt I will never again attempt drawing bottom lashes no matter how good it looks on kanapanda! ive also learnt nyx jumbo white eyeliner is horrible for manba make because it runs out insanely quickly
all three look so gorgeous n cool to me and im trying to figure out what i should practice more at! curious to see the opinions of the community
It's rainy and I don't feel like dressing up but I still had the urge to do manba makeup and participate 🩷🌺
