After a month long episode, I’m finally seeing the light

This is your sign to hang in there during an episode even if it is absolutely exhausting. I have been in so much mental pain wanting to off myself every single day. My meds got adjusted recently and I’m finally starting to feel better. I just hope it stays this way.

DBS check

I got arrested on Monday for breach of the peace and then the arrest was undone as in I wasn’t charged or cautioned. I have also been sectioned 3 times this year. Will this affect my interview/job prospects?

Please help me with the embarrassment after a crisis

I had a massive crisis at my doctors surgery yesterday and consequently they have banned me for unacceptable behaviour (even though I was ill and in crisis). I feel so embarrassed and humiliated and can’t get over it. What do I do? Has anyone else felt this way?

The right meds can change your life

I was sectioned 3 times in a year for Schizoaffective.

I have tried 11 medications in the last 2 years until I found the ones that worked. I’ve been out of hospital for 2 months and my life has already done a 180 and I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve been there where I’m posting on this sub in despair, deep in depression or in psychosis. If you are trying different meds and haven’t found the right once’s just yet, try to be patient and stick in there as once you find the right combo, it can be a life changer. For reference I’m on 4 meds being Lithium, Haloperidol, Trazodone and Escitalopram.

Is it creepy to give my GP a thank you card?

I have struggled with my mental health for the last few years and was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. My GP has been a god send to me and he has been super supportive. Is it creepy for me to give a thank you card?

GP not taking ADHD referral seriously

I am under CMHT for Schizoaffective disorder and I am medicated for that. My psych has told me to speak to the GP about potential ADHD. I have been to the GP about 3 times and done their questionnaires but nothing seems to move forward. What do I do?

Should I bother trying a different medication?

I’m on Escitalopram as well as Lithium and Haloperidol.

I saw my doctor the other day and they thought I was borderline manic on this newly prescribed Escitalopram. They wanted to reduce the dose but I said no 3x.

Anyway I had second thoughts and now I’m going back to the doctor on Tuesday but I also feel fine. I’m wondering if I should consider following my doctor’s advice about reducing dose or if I should switch to a less risky med altogether? I feel like I’m really wasting their time going to this appointment on Tuesday.

How do I ask my GP to change my meds?

So I saw my GP on Monday and a different GP prescribed me Escitalopram 2 weeks ago. At my appointment on Monday my GP was hinting that I’m bordering on mania. My family have said I’m a bit loud as well. I’m thinking of coming off Escitalopram altogether and going onto a different med but idk how to request this as I’m worried my GP will just suggest dropping down to 5mg.

Is 7 weeks enough to go from 1400 to 2100+ ?????

I’ve done a diagnostic mock and only got 1400. I have 7 weeks until my exam. Do I have long enough? And any advice on how to increase my score?

Is it possible to improve in 7 weeks?

I’m only getting 1390 Band 3 on mocks and I guessed half the answers. I have no idea how to get better besides just doing more questions. And I’m scared that I won’t get into the 2000s by the time my exam rolls around.

How to not want to go back to mania/quit meds?

I miss being manic and psychotic so much, I think about it everyday and I can’t move past it. I don’t know what to do, I just want to quit meds and be left to it.

Does anyone take a GLP-1?

Does anyone take a GLP-1 with Lithium? I was thinking of starting Mounjaro but scared of the contraindications.

Is anyone on more than 1 antidepressant?

I’m on Lithium, Haldol, Trazodone and Lexapro. I’m starting Lexapro tonight. I have been on it before and it made me manic without mood stabiliser/antipsychotic. However I’m a bit worried about starting it considering I’m on Trazodone which is an antidepressant too. My psych started me on Trazodone and my GP wants me to start Lexapro as he doesn’t believe Trazodone really affects your mood.
