How do I prepare my beats for Beatstars/Airbit?

I've been a recreational bedroom beatmaker for the last 15 years or so off and on.

Recently, I decided to start uploading music online, starting with airbit and it made me realize how much I don't know about the professional process of selling and/or uploading beats for distribution. I've made beats for friends, recorded their vocals myself and mixed the songs but I'm finding out, the process is completely different for distributing.

I say all that to say...Trying to prepare trackouts for airbit is really confusing me, so I humbly come to you guys for answers and guidance on a few things:

  1. How much processing should be included with my trackouts? Or maybe a better question is what processing should I NOT include on each individual track?

  2. What do I do about the return tracks? I'm guessing those aren't included in the trackout?

  3. Should I make all the tracks the same volume on the fader before bouncing them out or just bounce them exactly how they are when the track is mixed?

4.) How should the individual tracks and master wav be labeled? my usual way of titling master wavs is "bpm-songname-songkey." Ive never actually tracked anything out so I don't know how to label each track.

5.) What LUF or loudness should my beat preview wav be? Airbit's advice was "leave 3-6db of headroom." Another source says mix to at least -14LUFs. some say mix to about -12LUFs, others say go as loud as possible. Who's right, here?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Who is your favorite drum kit maker?

Some of mine are The Crate series, Tamuz, The Kount, and Infinite. Been wanting to try Snare Jordan.

What did you do when you needed to get rid of a plugin?

I bought a few expensive plugins thinking my setup was going to be more ITB but now that I have more space I’m going to go back to hardware. Problem is I don’t know where to offload these plugins I won’t need. Huge waste of money. Knobcloud and KVR both seem like you need to have some history on the site to sell.

How do I start uploading on Beatstars?

Are there any good videos about what to do to prep the beats for sale before uploading them? Do I just need a single wav file or stems? And stems processed or not?

Also how do I cover my ass legally if people steal my music. (It’s happened before on SoundCloud).

Anyone have any experience with this or videos on what to do?

How do I not get my beats jacked on Beatstars?

What’s the process? How do I prep my beats and what do I need to do before uploading them to make sure I’m covered. Tired of people stealing my shit from YouTube and SoundCloud.

If you know any YouTube videos on how to do this let me know. I keep hearing too many different things.
