I was a person who used to design and build buildings, run businesses, serve on city councils, play sports… and now I measure success by using an electric wheelchair to get to the kitchen and walk our dog. I sleep in a recliner next to my wife in our bed. I sit in that recliner all fucking day. The pain from neuropathy in my feet and legs is relentless. Such a brutal adjustment.
