If you are trying to time walking The Lady in Greenpoint so that it syncs up with seeing the fireworks…

Been hearing a lot about this challenge on TikTok, so if you want to get to Transmitter Park (view in the photo) to sneak a view towards the Brooklyn Bridge for the 9:25pm fireworks, you should begin The Lady in Greenpoint, a 3-mile walking audio ghost story starting ON THE LIC SIDE of the Pulaski Bridge, you should begin the walk at 8:05pm. Good luck!

See any Greenpoint charcoals you like? They are for sale!

All of these charcoals are 9x12 on wood panels, and they were/are(?) being used to help walkers on the path of The Lady in Greenpoint, a 3-mile walking audio ghost story starting at the Pulaski Bridge.

The pieces are currently on display at Oak & Iron (147 Franklin St., and also a stop on the walking ghost story) and if they don’t have a green sticker they’re available for purchase. Come check em out and/or ping me here or at rickpaulas@gmail.com. Thank you for your time!

This is not a political endorsement.

I just feel like this is valuable news and vital information for the community of Greenpoint who is voting this Tuesday for the NY-7 Congressional seat. Will Antonio Reynoso and/or Julie Won respond? The ball is in their courts…

Little audio help for a project?

Hey folks. I’m the creator of Loops, a serialized walking audio mystery through Prospect Park. It’s free to do, and you can check it out at www.loopsprospectpark.com.

Parts 1 and 2 are complete, and I’m currently in production on Parts 3 and 4. What I’m looking for now is to crowdsource some park audio. If you’re interested, all you need to do is:

  1. Go to somewhere on the Long Meadow, preferably around where the pin has been dropped.
  2. Take an audio file of park sounds (5 minutes max, phone is fine).
  3. Email the file to rickpaulas@gmail.com

I’ll give you a credit if you do! Thank you!

The Lady in Greenpoint Art Show

Hello all.

As part of Greenpoint Open Studios (a super cool event around the neighborhood, next Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31) I’m putting together a showcase of the charcoal drawings, and perhaps a few other things, associated with The Lady in Greenpoint, a 3-mile walking audio ghost story starting at the Pulaski Bridge. It will be at the bar Oak & Iron at 147 Franklin Street. A trailer is “attached.”

What’s fun about this event is that the bar is about an hour into the route of the story itself, so if you’d like to try out the start of the tale at the Pulaski Bridge, sample an hour of it, and then see the artwork at the bar, no one can stop you. It’s not illegal.

Please do not show up to beat me up for my posts.

More info here: https://greenpointopenstudios.com/artists/rick-paulas-2026/

And as always, the story is available at www.theladyingreenpoint.com

MALINKO, a thriller set on Route 66

Hey all, got something you may be interested in. A few years back, I published a novel that took me quite a long time to write, just about 20 years in fact. It’s called MALINKO, and it’s a thriller about a newlywed couple on a Route 66 honeymoon who stumble onto a mysterious radio show. Inside includes some original charcoal art. I published 1,000 of them and have some left, so thought I would post it here and see if anyone is interested. Cost is $25, but that price includes shipping. Venmo: Rick-Paulas, PayPal: rickpaulas@gmail.com, and include your address. Happy to answer any questions!

Now that it is somewhat springtime (i.e., "walking season") I wanted to let the lovely residents of beautiful Long Island City officially know about The Lady in Greenpoint.

It's a 3-mile walking audio ghost story that interweaves fiction with fact. It starts on the LIC side of the Pulaski Bridge, right across from the Sweetleaf and next to Manetta's. It's a labor of love project I put together 3.5 years ago, and roughly 500 folks have done it so far. It takes you through a winding path of Greenpoint (including two bars, one stop on the G, a few waterfront views) that ends at McGolrick. The whole thing will take you about 3-5 hours, depending on your pace and if you make any stops, and there is also a shortcut that will trim about an hour off it. It's free to do, with a suggested donation of $10.

Oh also, people have left reviews on TripAdvisor if that helps describe it some more: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g60827-d25078304-Reviews-The_Lady_in_Greenpoint-Brooklyn_New_York.html

Happy to answer any questions! Thanks for reading!

“Loops” is a serialized walking audio mystery through Prospect Park that explores themes of loss, time, media, fame, and obsession. It is planned to be released in five parts over the next few years, and Parts 1 and 2 are now available.

To walk “Loops,” bring your phone, headphones, perhaps a portable battery, and maybe a flashlight. Simply put on your headphones, follow the instructions at www.loopsprospectpark.com, and play the tracks. It will take you about three hours, and is free to do with a suggested donation of $10.
