A guy who was so committed to faking a serious intellectual disability that he spent ~7 mo in custody between the jail and the state mental hospital was FINALLY found to be MALINGERING, and then fit to stand trial.

I had a very good reason from the very beginning to believe he was faking it (I literally have a reverse Keyser Söze moment on BWC video), but he was committed to the bit. In the end, he wasn't quite smart enough to fake it forever in front of state hospital staff who are always watching.

The judge finding him fit and putting his case back on the regular criminal docket was a top 10 most vindicating career moment for me. We had to push back against the case just getting dismissed several times.

(Possession of CSAM, if you're wondering. Not a lot of it. But enough.)

I used to know some folks with a tree in their yard in Beaverton but neither they nor I live there anymore. But I don't think I've ever seen it anywhere else, except for in the Oregon Garden where they--alas--don't let you just pick their fruit.

Alternatively, I'm perfectly willing to order some online, but fresh fruit is not something I have ever ordered. Any reliable online sources?

It's pretty fucking obvious that I am covering for someone else who missed their court assignment. Why am I taking the heat?

And why does defense counsel never get yelled at, when almost daily there's a defense attorney who doesn't show up until court staff calls and emails them and we sit there waiting for 15-20 minutes until they hop on the video?

Also, this judge has never started a docket on time in their life. I walked in at 9:08 and I would bet MONEY that they hadn't been on the bench for more than 4 minutes yet.

I'm new to 3d printing having only gotten my first printer like 5 weeks ago (Creality K2 Pro w/ CFS) and then 3 weeks later getting a Flashforge Creator Pro 5 when I realized the difference between "multicolor" and "multihead." I'm a hobbyist only, but with a fair amount of experience with computers and I also have a laser cutter.

I'm finding these two printers to both be great in their own ways and incredibly frustrating in their own ways. The Creality has had more hardware issues with filament feed/clogs and spaghetti clouds.

But the Flashforge's problem is the software, which is significantly less stable for me than Creality Print, despite being 95% the same thing because they're both Orca-based. I basically have to Save, End Task to kill it, and re-open the program after every major operation. It's to the point where I do my object manipulation and painting in Creality Print and then open the 3mf in Flash Studio to print. (Still searching for a low-cost CAD program that doesn't make an ex-AutoCAD and Microstation drafter cry.)

Last night I tried to print a bed of DnD terrain tiles for a friend. Only like 12 tiles, not exceptionally complex in structure (well under 100k triangles each). Slicing took forever (like 10 minutes), but it did get there, and then the program was almost unresponsive. Huge delay if I clicked anything. And it would. Not. Print. The Print button was, for some reason, showing the Export Gcode option instead of Print, but it was blue, not greyed out. But once pressed, the button turned gray and....absolutely nothing happened. Checking the system monitors, the CPU wasn't doing anything and the RAM was not maxing out. My computer was not doing anything at all, outside the usual system crap. (My computer isn't a gaming rig, but it should be plenty adequate for the purpose. I can have multiple files in PaintShop Pro, Inkscape, QCAD, the Xtool laser software, and 25 Chrome tabs open without any issue.) The printer was visible and ready. Its touchscreen controls responded appropriately.

I tried rebooting both the printer and the laptop, tried deleting files out of the printer's memory in case it was just full, tried deleting half the objects off the bed. Tried deleting the objects on the other plate and the other plate, to make the file smaller. All nope.

I don't know if the program got worse with the last update, or if it's just getting worse as I get into bigger files. Does anyone else have these issues? Any tips?

Is Orca Slice any more stable? I am under the impression that it can connect to both of my printers, right? Or did I get that wrong.

Edit: I forgot that several times recently, I have gotten the error where the printer appears to be offline, despite being connected to the wifi. I gave it a static IP and that seems to have helped that issue.

But apparently that is not a universal sentiment.

Not the worst thing I've ever seen/heard in a courtroom, but the fact that the guy took so long to do anything about it kind of blew my mind.

Brennan's voice actor being the main male character and an alpha shifter who gets all growly has basically made my year, even if the series is even fluffier than FW. Y'all can have Gabriel Michael bc Danny Gavigan's voice hits allllll of my buttons and there is just not nearly enough Brennan in the books. (Xaden's voice did show up briefly--and his character was a total douche!)

I'm looking for some honeysuckle vine plants and maybe a dwarf lilac tree or hydrangea. What nurseries around here are good?

Like, literally, if they don't reverse almost all of these "improvements" immediately, our office is going to have to find a different workflow entirely because the way we use it for pre-court notes and in-court notes is untenable now.

MORE WHITE SPACE????? AS A POSITIVE???? We use this shit on 15" laptops in court, you morons. We need as little white space on that screen as possible. The text boxes are now 3-4 words wide.

And they've removed scroll bars in all the sections. WHAT THE FUCK.

Edit: Literally in the last 15 minutes, my cases have started loading with the older look. Either something on my computer has gone very wonky in the best way possible, or Karpel heard my office dying by increments yesterday and today.

Problem: Spicy books sometimes have embarrassing covers and I'd like to be able to hide them on the main library screen.

You can sort books into categories, but you can't set the library to show/not show the books in a particular category.

Unless I'm missing something!

It'd be incredibly easy to just add a filter option for each category.

I replaced my Nuphy Halo because I wanted space between alphabet, arrows, and keypad again. But I'm having a hell of a time typing on it, and wondering if it's because of the low profile. (I use it for work, which is 95% typing.)

I'll give it a few more days to try and learn some new muscle memory, but if not, can I just put any old MX-compatible keycaps on? Is there any reason that wouldn't work? (Also, there are a lot more shine-through options for cherry profile than low profile.)

Also, as an aside: This is the least tactile tactile keyboard ever, and it sounds hollow. The click experience is definitely inferior to the Nuphy.

I have a side yard that is currently dead sod, which I'd like to finish nicely into patio space with some large pavers & gravel in between. Upon realizing that I'd need to dig down like 6" to put a proper gravel & sand base in, I would really rather not do it myself. But it's a pretty small job, only like 10 ft x 20 ft.

Anyone have a recommendation for a landscaper or handyman who would do such a small job (and hopefully for a reasonable price)?
