I adore physical media, particularly niche magazines with bold design and Dork is one of my favourites. The interview with Olivia in this issue is such a good read

I recently picked up an RSD exclusive Lana Del Rey release (pictured), I didn't own the album on vinyl and was obsessed with the cover art - but I'm not too fussed on the cobalt blue pressing. IMO a black pressing goes perfectly with the cover so I'm thinking of doing my first "frankenvinyl" and switching the blue pressing for the standard black.

I know some people think this is crazy - a fair point, and some people love to do it - so thought it would be good to hear your thoughts

I adore the Clash shoot, and out of my entire collection I genuinely think this one is in my Top 3 - the softness of the colours on the matte print… gorgeous!

Ok can we talk about this Interview cover-shoot please because I LOVE IT! An interview with Mel Ottenberg and shot by the wonderful Brianna Capozzi spread over 16 pages - Sabrina got really sick after this shoot, according to her there was mold in the house 😭

Perfect is possibly her boldest shoots yet IMO - black wig, dingy motel, underwear, wedding dresses, cigarettes, high heels and plaid shirts. 8 cover variants and an interview with Marc Jacobs - **chefs kiss**

And then Rolling Stone UK - dare I say more? Iconic shoot, forest nymph vibes, copies regularly sell on eBay for over £100/$130 PLUS it has a 6 page interview and shoot with Olivia Dean in too 😍

Totally unbiassed opinion because my collection covers a range of pop girlies but my god these Billie covers go HARD! Garage gets a lot of attention (deservedly so, it’s stunning) but Teeth and Fader are just the perfect combination of interview and shoot - maybe it’s the use of the neon green in Fader that’s so so Billie?

I have a few others on ISO, i love Coup de Main and would really like to add Billie’s to the collection, but finding one in great condition here in the UK is tough

Hi hi ☺️ as the title says, my hobby is collecting hard to find/rare/niche music/fashion/lifestyle magazines that feature some of my favourite pop girlies - my collection is around 200 editions, most are more recent editions and some like this going back nearly 30 years that i’ve picked up on the resale market!

I recently went through them and did some organising and thought I’d share some of my favourites in dedicated subs!

The Face - Spice Girls cover - Vol 3 Issue 2 March 1997

240 pages - 14 pages dedicated to the Spice Girls with a big interview covering everything from politics to hygiene habits as kids!

The Face is such a cool UK based publication, it’s shut down and been bought out a few times over the years since the 1980’s but it’s always been one of my favourite magazines. The quality of interviews, shoots and the actual physical quality of the magazine have always been so good (I hope it makes a return!)

Olivia Rodrigo for Interview Magazine - Issue 550 September 2023

Large format, newsprint magazine - seriously, this thing is big and kinda awkward to read, but I love it! ~150 pages of interviews, shoots and high-fashion ads covering music, cinema, society and art - some through a queer lens on which is always welcome!

The focus is on Olivia though, interviewed by Phoebe Bridgers (obsessed) and shot by the iconic Brianna Capozzi 💕 it’s such a fun interview that was done on release day for vampire and has the cutest little interaction at the end where Phoebe asks her what she’s doing today, Olivia panics and says she doesn’t have anything to do and this was her only interview - Phoebe suggests watching Twilight and signing vinyl 💕

screaming, crying…. This is Dua’s second Vogue Italia cover, her 11th vogue cover over all and I’ve already paid a collector contact in Italy to get me a copy ❤️

Hi hi :) I’ve always been an huge X Files fan, but my main hobby is pop girlie magazines and vinyl, particularly rarer/hard to find/niche editions… anyway, I did a deal a few weeks back for a couple of rare music magazines and the seller had a ton of old Rolling Stone including issue 734, May 1996 - I couldn’t turn it down 🥰

It’s in great shape for a 30 year old magazine, flat, no bends, folds or tears and it includes the iconic 3 in a bed double page shot with David, Gillian (complete with cigarette in hand) and Chris Carter.

I’m going to HAVE to hunt down the February 1997 Gillian Anderson Monster cover now! If there are any other magazine collectors out there, I’d love to hear about your favourites in your collection 💕

It’s a special edition of Perfect shot by Morgan Maher with a very small shoot and interview - Lily is stunning in it (my jaw dropped omg haha!) and I’m so happy have her in my collection with other superstar pop girls ✨

I really enjoy returning to physical magazines on days where I’m needing a digital detox and it’s always fun to chart someones career via interviews in magazines, plus seeing how their style has changed over the years, particularly in the fashion magazines fascinates me, something that’s harder to do online.

The Summer 2013 issue includes a 10 page interview/shoot section "Heart to Heart with Taylor Swift", I love that the Editor mentions how open and honest she is about life (it's a really interesting interview)

The November/December 2014 issue includes an 8 page interview/shoot section with Fashion Editor Danielle Emerson and the shoot is hands down one of my favourites. I know it divides opinion, but I've seen a LOT of fashion shoots in magazines and I don't remember one sticking with me quite like this!

Issue 11 - Zeitgeist is out September 15th and there are 3 Gracie covers 🥰 I went for cover 2!

The Sabrina Carpenter issue is still one of my favourite recent releases, this edition could top it for me!

While I’m a big Dua Lipa fan, I also collect rare/hard to find/niche publications that celebrate other pop girlies as cover stars - I’ve been doing some organising over the last few weeks so I thought I’d share some of my favourites ☺️

My collection runs to around 200 editions, that covers pretty much every Dua Lipa cover she’s done (if anyone has Clash issue 102 cover #1 please please let me know…) so includes some newer, mass-releases like Vogue, Elle etc, but then includes a ton of other pop girls!

I’ve picked these out as my current favourites, but it does change over time and while some of these are my favourites, they’re not necessarily the rarest or most valuable I have in my collection.

I’ll list the editions below, I try and buy mint condition, it’s harder with some older copies though - the Beyonce Dazed cover from 2011 is a little rough around the edges, but aren’t we all after so much time 😅
