Best way to dry your face

This might be a stupid post but is there a difference between drying your face with a towel vs letting it air dry? Is one worse for your skin than another?

Trapezius Xeomin in Tokyo

I’m looking to get trapezius Botox in Tokyo, preferably with Xeomin rather than Botox. Are there any clinics that do this?

Routine must-haves for barrier repair

I’ve decided to switch up my routine to focus on barrier repair rather than desperately trying to exfoliate and use different actives to try and smooth my skin and minimise pores.

Here is what routine looks like right now, my skin type is dehydrated combination and a bit on the sensitive side.

AM: wash face with water > anua Azelaic acid > s nature aqua squalene cream
PM: fancl mild cleansing oil > senka medicated wash > anua Azelaic acid > aestura atobarrier cream

Every 3 days I use the cosrx bha blackhead power liquid on dry skin after cleansing.

I’ve only just started the aestura cream so I will see how that goes. I also want to switch to a proper Azelaic acid gel (finacea) once I finish the anua bottle as I don’t feel the anua one is doing that much. I also want to try the iunik beta glucan serum since my skin is a bit dehydrated and have heard that beta glucan is better than hyaluronic acid.

Is there anything I should remove, switch or add?

Remedies for trouble staying asleep/waking up really early

I’ve always been a very light sleeper and naturally wake up earlier than most, but recently I haven’t been able to wake up past 4:40am. I could go to sleep 7:00 pm and I would wake up 4:40 am, I could go to sleep at 1am and still only wake up 4:40am no matter how tired I am. Sometimes it’s worse and I wake up 2-3am.

I’ve tried things like exercise, foods meant to help sleep, magnesium supplements before bed etc but nothing has been able to keep me asleep. I really don’t want to start taking prescription medication for this, is there anything I can do?

Are hyaluronic acid serums worth it?

I have dehydrated combination skin with a weakish barrier. I’ve been using the Torriden dive in serum for a while and while the hydration is nice, I’ve been hearing that Hyaluronic acid serums are basically useless now since most products have hyaluronic acid in their formulation. I’ve recently run out of the serum so I’m wondering if it’s worth buying it again, or if there is another hydrating serum that is better.

Aegyosal products

I have an issue where no matter how strong I make my aegyosal (without looking crazy), the moment I step outside it’s barely noticeable and looks like I did nothing.
I’m currently using the canmake aegyosal palette, so I’m wondering if anyone else has the same issue with this palette or if I’m doing something wrong technique-wise

Overdeveloped trapezius muscle due to scoliosis?

I’m 18F and for the past 6 or so years I have had issues with my traps being very tense and bulky (a chiropractor I used to see even joked that they looked like the traps of a body builder when I was 13). Of course this causes me pain, but also visually it’s really an issue and a major insecurity of mine.

It seems like whatever I do only makes it worse. I’ve read that strengthening other back muscles helps, so I tried going to the gym and doing things like lat pull downs, but that only made it more tense and bulky.

I have 2 curves, I can’t exactly remember the degrees but the thoracic curve is mild and lumbar curve is moderate (i think 32 degrees).

Any advice on how to help is greatly appreciated 🙏

Budgeting for food/transport in Suzhou

In a few months I’ll be starting a ~4 month long language program in Suzhou. It’s my first time going to China so I’m not familiar with the pricing of food, groceries, transport etc (although I’ve heard that it’s cheaper than many other countries).

Does anyone know how much I should budget a week for food and transport? Ideally I don’t want to spend much on this and would rather put the money into shopping.

Chinese makeup/skincare stores and prices

Hi everyone, In a few months I’m travelling to China for the first time for a 4 month long language program.

Since I’ve never been before I have no idea about things like where I can buy makeup/skincare for a decent price and how much those kind of things cost.

I know in Korea there is olive young, and in Japan there are the drug stores like matsukiyo, so I was curious as to where Chinese people buy their makeup/skincare.

If it is a in-person store, one that has a location in/close to Suzhou would be great.

Pico spot recovery

I got pico spot 3 days ago and the doctor said that makeup and normal skincare is totally fine to resume the next day. He also gave me dermosol-g cream (a steroid) to apply every morning and night for the next 10 days. I didn’t know this before but I must have some sort of allergy to steroid creams because when I applied it my face felt kind of itchy and red, so I’ve stopped using that.

When I searched it up I’ve gotten mixed responses about whether makeup is ok during the week after getting it done. So, my question is whether I can actually use makeup and return to my normal skincare routine (oil cleanser, foam cleanser, Azelaic acid, moisturiser, sunscreen) by day 3.

Intensive mandarin course

This is kind of a sudden decision so I’m aware I may be too late with applications, but Im wanting to do an intensive mandarin course in Shanghai that ends before February 2027.
Would this be possible and what institutions would be best to go with?
