With the sad recent news in Rodrigues world regarding Tim being an abusive POS & Heidi’s family rallying around her hoping they divorce, anything is possible. Who do you think will divorce in Duggarland?

My guess is Jason and Maddie, but not for another 5-10 years. I think this will cause several others to follow suit, but not until after Jim Fart either becomes incapacitated or passes. I think after that will be Justin/Claire, Jed/Katey, Jinger/Jeremy, and Jill/Derick.

What unpopular opinions do you have about the show? For
me, mine are the following…

1. ⁠Every one on Wisteria Lane were terrible parents, some were worse than others.
2. All of the husbands sucked. Some were worse than others, like Tom, Karl and Carlos.
3. Kayla was not a monster, she was a troubled girl who went through a lot of trauma and had shitty caregivers (Nora for being manipulative and Tom for dumping her onto Lynette). She needed proper professional help. Also, instead of moving in with her dad and stepmom full time after her mom died, it would have been better for her maternal grandparents to have physical and legal custody of Kayla while Tom and Lynette get visitation rights.
4. ⁠Even though Gaby was not a great mom, she grew a lot after having Juanita and Celia.
5. ⁠I liked having Renee on the Lane. It was refreshing to see a childfree woman and someone who didn’t marry the right person until later in life.
6. ⁠I loved Andrew! Yes, he was a little shit. But he was funny about it. Also, he showed a lot of growth post time jump skip and I love how he becomes close with Bree later.
7. ⁠Even though Edie sucked, she was the most real person out of all the ladies—why she gave up Travers, being unapologetic for her personality like her promiscuity, and sometimes being a real friend.

I did my umpteenth rewatching of this amazing show and I was thinking about this. If you were in charge of writing the show, what would you change? Here are my thoughts. Sorry it is so long. 😂

1. ⁠I would not have Lynette be pregnant again with another set of twins and instead, have Penny be her and Tom's last child.
2. ⁠Lynette and Tom would permanently divorce, as they had an unhealthy marriage. Lynette would have moved to NYC solo and found a new love after she moved, with them eventually marrying. As for Tom, he would stay on Wisteria Lane and married twice more--both ending in a divorce. I would have them end up becoming good friends and co-parent well after a rough time post-divorce, as his next two marriages and divorces would help him mature and grow as a person. All four kids visit both parents often, and maintain a good relationship with them--with Porter and Preston being closer to Tom while Parker and Penny would be closer to Lynette. However, Tom would deep down regret letting Lynette go and would always still be in love with her.
3. ⁠I would have Susan grow as a cook, especially after MJ was born. I’d also change the whole Julie pregnancy storyline too, where Julie does end up giving up her baby for adoption (with Susan’s support) as she clearly did not want to be a mom. As for Julie, I’d have her continue on grad school in Boston, but eventually meets the right man whom she ends up marrying after completing grad school. They would remain in Boston, have no children together, and be happy.
4. ⁠Mike wouldn’t be dead. I’d have him seriously injured from the shooting where he would have to have rehab to help him recover. It would for sure test Mike and Susan’s marriage, but they would come out stronger than ever. I'd have them eventually leave the Lane and move into a quaint cottage in the country about an hour away with MJ. Susan starts her own publishing business and brings in local moms and artists to create unique children’s books while Mike would finally have his own plumbing business. Julie and her husband often go out to visit her family and vice versa with them going to Boston.
5. ⁠I'd still have Bree move to Kentucky and dive into politics, with her eventually becoming the mayor of Louisville. However, I didn't like that she got together with Trip. I would have her stay single for a long time as she went through a lot with Orson in the last few episodes and she realizes that she doesn't need a man to make her happy. Instead, Bree has her family and her friends. I'd have Danielle and Benjamin move to Kentucky to live near Bree a year later. Danielle suffers another crisis and realizes she needs her mom more than ever. We would see Bree and Danielle be a work in progress with healing their relationship. As for Andrew, he remains close with his mom and often goes to visit her.
6. ⁠For Gaby, I would have not had the whole Grace storyline as she went through too much trauma already--her childhood, her miscarriage in s1, losing the girl she was about to adopt because the birth parents changed their mind, and Carlos being blind. As for Carlos, he showed a lot of growth so not much, but I would write out the whole switching birth controls as well as how he dealt with finding out that Lynette was pregnant. And for the most part, I liked her ending. I would still have Gaby and Carlos move to Los Angeles with her getting a show on the QVC network. However, instead of having Gaby forget what she has learned on being a better version of herself, I would have her continue to work on breaking the cycle of generational trauma for Juanita and Celia with Carlos' help and support. It would be filled with ups and downs, but the mother-daughter trio would come out stronger in the end as well as Gaby and Carlos. It would be a great character development, as while she works on being a better version of herself--Gaby will always have the past, yet not letting it affect her.
7. ⁠I would not have Katherine discard her relationship with Robin and sexuality. I hated that they made her character think that her sexuality was a phase. Instead, I would have her come to realize that she is a lesbian and after some encouragement from Robin, she would come out to the ladies and Dylan. All would be very supportive of Katherine and their friendship/mother-daughter relationship would not change. I'd have Katherine and Robin stay together and eventually marry. Their marriage lasts for a long time and this was the first time Katherine has ever been happy with a partner, as her embracing the fact that she is a lesbian freed her from her misery and is finally at peace with her life. Katherine and Robin would permanently reside in Paris with a second home in Manhattan. Also, I would have removed the Katherine becoming crazy after Mike storyline.
8. ⁠I would have not killed off Edie. Yes, she sucked and yes, she did a LOT of fucked up stuff with the ladies' partners. However, Edie does also fit right in with the other desperate housewives IMO. I would have developed her personality more. First off, she returns to Katherine and Karen to say they were right about Dave, so they team up to get revenge, and Edie divorces Dave at the end of season 5. Second, she helps Julie after she gets strangled and when she got pregnant, because Edie always was kinda like an aunt to Julie. Then, Edie would’ve had an affair with Tom, which would lead to the end of the Scavos’ marriage as Lynette realized she can do so much better without him (no Jane at all lol). Finally, she would’ve gotten Renee’s storylines (after dumping Tom) and would get her happy ending with Ben. While Edie settles with Ben, she reaches out to Travers, who is now an adult, and apologizes to him for not being present. This leads to mother and son to reconcile and they start to rebuild their relationship.
9. ⁠I would have the storyline of who is MJ's father, after Mike and Susan realize that he looks nothing like either of them. So, a paternity test was done since it came out that Susan slept with Ian, Dave, and Karl before she and Mike got married and it turns out that Dave is MJ's biological father. This is why Mike and Susan divorced because she hid who the father really is and why Dave tried to kidnap him. I would conclude the whole storyline with Mike and Susan getting back together as Mike fully accepts MJ as his son, no matter if he was biologically his or not.
10. ⁠I would have the plot twist of Tom having another secret kid shortly after he and Lynette divorced and that would be...Zach Young! The plot would be that Zach is actually Tom’s kid, not Mike’s. Deidre and Tom slept together one time (before Nora and before Lynette) and was pregnant at the time she got together with Mike, so she led Mike to believe that Zach was his. It turns out that Mike struggled with male infertility without him, Deidre, and Susan knowing it.
11. ⁠I hated how they discarded Kayla after she moved in with her maternal grandparents at the end of season 4. I would have had her come back after a lot of intensive therapy a year after Tom and Lynette divorce. She would be healed, but it's still a journey for her. Eventually, Tom and Kayla repair their broken connection, but it took awhile to get there. She also sends a sincere apology letter to her former stepmom for all of the hurt she has caused. Even though Lynette and Kayla don't rebuild their relationship, it ends on good terms and closure finally came for the both of them.
12. ⁠Instead of Dave being committed, I think he should have died in that car crash right after he and Edie divorced.

Are there any opinions you hold that aren’t commonly accepted/seen on this sub? Here are mine.

1. Jana would have been an IBLP blanket training mom if she didn't marry later in life and would have had ~8-10 children.

2. Jim Bob and Michelle really don’t care how many children their kids have or if they limit the amount of kids they have. Having 19 kids got them a lot of attention which I think they enjoyed and fueled their breeding fetish. Having a bunch of grandkids doesn’t garner the same level of attention or admiration. And they can hardly keep track of how many they have anyway! Also, they don't care as long as their children abide by their rules.

3. Jill would have also been an IBLP blanket training mom if she didn't struggle with her pregnancies and if Derick didn't discover that her dad was withholding money from them. Also, she would have had ~5-8 children.

4. There will be a few Duggar divorces, but until after Jim Bob Un either becomes incapacitated or kicks the bucket. My guesses are Jed/Katey, Jason/Maddie, and possibly Jinger/Jeremy.

5. The main reason why Jessa has an active baby cannon is to keep Ben from leaving her. He wants to leave, but he doesn't have the emotional intelligence to do so. Absolutely if these two weren't fundie nor if there was the amount of kids they have, things would have ended with them a long time ago.

6. The Lost Girls are not sheltered and have their own phones. I believe they know what happened with Josh and Joe, and are also aware of this sub but avoid it. I also think that Johannah and Jenni have social media accounts, but it is completely private to family and close friends.

7. I think the reason why we haven't seen any pregnancy annoucements amongst the Duggars lately (a dry spell) is because partly there is no more TLC money/fame rolling in (even though they are influencers, grifting can be hard) and partly because most of them deep down know it is not safe to have many children like their mothers did. Also, most of the Duggars girls wear pants and don't abide by the modesty standards and some struggle with fertility problems. In addition, they know that their reputation is forever damaged because of Josh and Joe so that's why they keep most things quiet now. I wouldn't be surprised if there are two or three of them are currently pregnant (along with Hannah), but it's kept under wraps and don't plan on announcing until the baby is here.

8. Speaking of #7, I really don't believe they will get to 100 grandchildren as most of the children I believe will have 2-4 children because of reasons mentioned above. Also, they saw what a shit show their household was and want no part of that. The only ones who are gonna get to more than 2-4 children I believe are Josh/Anna (done at 7), Jessa/Ben (~8-10), Josiah/Lauren (~6-7), Jed/Katey (~8-10), and Jer/Hannah (~6-8).

9. The only couples who seem to have a genuinely happy and loving marriage are Jana/Stephen, John/Abbie, and Joy/Austin.

10. If it weren't for Michelle and the money Jim Bob holds over them, most of the kids would have followed Jill's footsteps and gone low to no contact with him. I believe that most of the kids cannot stand him and only tolerate him because of their mom--except for Jana, Jessa, and Jed.

11. Speaking of #10, I think there is some dark shit going on between Jim Bob and Michelle and that is why all of the older married girls praise her--they know what is going on between their parents behind closed doors. Also, because they think she is the better of the two.

Jim Bob’s birthday was July 18th (this past Saturday). Either they really are laying down low after Pest 2.0 (except for the mandatory ads) or like I’ve mentioned before, some of them are quietly pulling a Jill and distancing themselves from their dad (my guesses are Josiah, Joy, and Jason).

On that note, what do you think the Dugdashians do for Michelle’s 60th birthday this year? Here are my thoughts…

1. Jinger flies into town with only Finnegan while Jana comes in with Archie and all of the sisters, including Jill, celebrate their mom at their usual brunch spots.
2. A week later, all of the Dugdashians (except for Jill, Jinger, and Justin) head to their usual spot in Destin Beach, Florida head to some vacation spot that is not Florida.

Surprisingly, I'm on top of this! That's what happens when you have five days off from work lol. This was hard for me to do because all of the boards in MP9 were pretty bad. Tbh, it is the worst game in the series--with MP10 coming in close. Without further ado, here are my rankings from worst to best with an analysis on why!

#7 DK’s Jungle Ruins

This is the clear loser board of the entire game. Not only is it boring (as it is even more of a watered down version of DK’s Treetop Temple), but THIS BOARD TAKES 15 MINUTES TO COMPLETE! The boards in this game are already way too short with all of the others taking about 30 minutes each, but 15 minutes takes about as much time as the minigame modes in this game. The "boss minigames" are also literally just coin or in this case banana minigames with DK and Diddy. And you also loop around the board twice, meaning you loop around the same board, defeating the purpose of everybody traveling together.

#6 Bob-omb Factory

Eh, I don’t really hate this one compared to DK’s Jungle Ruins. However, it can feel too punishing. The gimmick here is that a conveyor belt shifts the path, and players carry explosive Bob-ombs. One bad roll can easily ruin your entire game. That’s all I have to say about it.

#5 Blooper Beach

While this board is pretty cool, it is not quite enjoyable. I don't like the ending section where the mini stars keep getting replaced with mini ztars and vice versa. I also don’t like the beginning part where the Dolphins and Sushi are both there, switching each other's spots, dolphins give you mini stars, and sushi take your mini stars. I think it's neat but nothing more than that. Out of the entire game, this board is the most luck-based.

#4 Boo’s Horror Castle

A decent sequel to King Boo’s Haunted Hideaway. The gimmick here is a Boo follows you around and you can steal the mini-stars of other players. The ending section can be kind of annoying, because if you are the captain and do not roll high enough to get to the final boss space, then you have to circle around the entire ending part of the board again, and you will probably not get the captain bonus on the boss minigame. The reason why it’s not the top three is because the end was too chance-based, and I’m not a fan of that.

#3 Bowser Station

This is the final unlockable board. It requires players to avoid Bowser spaces and traps. The goal of the course is to make one lap around the space station before you can challenge Bowser for a fight. Halfway, Bowser Jr. will try to beat you. The board also has a jackpot. If the counter reaches 20 or more, you'll battle for it in a mini-game.

#2 Magma Mine

This is actually a fun board, and among the top #3 in the entire game. I like the gimmick of where the magma slowly rises. This adds high tension and strategy to the board's second half. T here are split paths on this board where instead of the captain choosing where to go, everybody votes which direction to go and a roulette decides which direction to go. This is very fun because everybody has a say in where to go, unlike most of the captain events in this game. The reason why its not #1 because it is far too short.

#1 Toad Road

This board is easily the best this game has to offer imo. While it is traditional and simple, it’s neat map and I love how bright and cheerful it is. That's because it makes this board slightly less luck-based than the ones I've already mentioned. Plus, it has some awesome music. This board may have lots of green spaces and less chaos/strategy than the other 6, but it’s still good.

Let's do this! The last game developed by Hudson Soft before the company shuttered down. Even though I've been playing a lot of the N64 and GameCube era games, today I'm ranking every MPDS board with a short analysis on why.

#5 Kamek’s Library

Yay! We have another island hopping board, that heavily relies on luck. The changing magic book paths and mirage stars can be easily frustrating by throwing off one’s carefully planned turns. I have only played this map a few times, but I have had no fun with the map itself ever. It is so awful. I can't see how anyone could enjoy playing here.

#4 DK’s Stone Statue

Even with 50 turns, it just didn't feel like it was enough. It took so long getting to the place to buy stars, that it almost didn't seem worth it and while other maps in other games have done this, they also included something to go along with the map to keep you occupied. I really liked the look of it though, seeing as you were tiny and all of this wasn't actually all that big in reality.

#3 Wiggler’s Garden

As traditional as this board is, it actually isn’t boring! Maybe because I like flowers and gardening lol. While the basic loop can be repetitive, this is solid and great for beginner players of Mario Party.

#2 Bowser’s Pinball Machine

This board is pretty good. It's a Bowser board, but it mostly isn't as harsh as the others which I like. However, there is one part of the board that is too harsh, that being the Bowser zone. Losing ALL of your coins AND stars is devastating and can ruin entire long games, which is really frustrating. However, this board is saved by how cool the happening spaces are, so it still manages to be among the top #2 board in the game.

#1 Toadette’s Music Room

This board is really good. It has a pretty basic gimmick, all it is is every star the star (music note) price goes up by 5 coins until it resets back to 5. This gimmick allows a lot of strategy of what stars you do and don't want to get though, which is really cool. Also, the design of the board is nice and I like that a lot.

It's been a while, but I'm back with the rankings. I honestly forgot how good the MP8 boards were, except for one which I hated. Let's get started, with my rankings from worst to best along with a short analysis on why.

#6 Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk

This board is terrible—the worst board in the game and among the worst boards in the entire series. It is too linear and doesn't have enough interesting gimmicks for me. It is a watered down version of Pagoda Peak. The Goomba gives you the star for FREE—not 20 coins, not even 10 coins, free. It is so dumb and it makes any form of skill or fun in this board non existent.

#5 DK’s Treetop Temple

One of the most boring boards in the entire series. Unlike the starting boards from MPs 2-7, this board doesn't really do anything to stand out from any other boards. That’s because all it has going for is a treetop temple. You look for a star on the board and pay 20 coins for one when you get to it. The music is decent, but it's a bit annoying at times.

#4 Bowser’s Warped Orbit

It’s another…you guessed it…star stealing board. I would say this is slightly better than Pyramid Park, as players must steal stars from each other with Bowser or Bullet Candy. Bowser Candy gives you two dice blocks, and if you pass by someone, you steal two stars. With Bullet Candy, it's three dice blocks but only one star. I do find it strange that Bowser steals everybody's coins when you land on his space. Plus, the Bowser features are kinda barely there. Speaking of star stealing boards, I think Snowflake Lake is the best out of all three of them.

#3 King Boo's Haunted Hideaway

I like the concept where after every single star, everyone warps back to start. However, this board is too gimmicky for me. Also the stars are 10 coins instead of 20 coins, which I find to be boring. Not only is it gimmicky, it is also luck based. The board is a spooky mansion with shifting walls, and stars are found by blindly entering hidden rooms and praying you stumble upon King Boo. Despite that, I do like the board but it’s not in the top 2 for me.

#2 Shy Guy’s Perplex Express

It’s a much better version of Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk, with the star being 20 coins instead of being free. I like when you land on the event space, the train cars will shuffle and change everyone’s path to getting the star. I also like the soundtrack, as it has such chill music. It's perfect train music and truly symbolizes the amazement of traveling with a train, a luxury one at that. It’s a great board overall.

#1 Koopa’s Tycoon Town

The best board in the entire game and one of my favorite boards in the entire series. Remember everything I said about Windmillville in my prior post about the MP7 boards? Apply my reasoning why that board is great, but take away the flaws. So it has the great strategy and gimmick of investing buildings, this time, it’s hotels. And it’s not luck based, which is amazing. On top of that, the hotels increase in stars based off of the amount of coins you put in them, it's not pre selected which have how many stars (which the exception of the lucky space hotels).
