first time making a spiked cuff :)) (read body text)

looks kinda choppy but i made it, so i like it! thankfully it’s comfortable to wear, it just doesn’t look very appealing 😖 advice to make next attempt look less ugly??

the cloth is a leftover piece from a neckline of a shirt that i chopped up yesterday. i superglued it to a hair tie i found on the street so it’d be easy to wear. round spikes made out of a soda i got for free last week. advice on how i can improve please!! (I can hand-sew if that helps)

i want tips on improving my art style, please help? 🥹🥹

1st and 2nd image: current wip
3rd 4th and 5th image: examples of current art style
6th 7th and 8th image: examples of art style i would like to work towards

i honestly really dislike my current art style and would love to work towards something more complex and visually appealing! I mostly dislike my rendering capabilities and feel that it is too limited to be able to properly make progress towards the style i want. im also worried that the way i draw faces might be disproportionate, or the way i draw fabrics might look cartoonish/weird.

i want advice on what i should learn to improve my rendering, resources you guys use to practice drawing stylistic faces and bodies, and any general advice that you see fit for my art right now would be amazing! if it’s relevant, i have practiced shapes many times and i think it might be beneficial to work on something else for now. :))

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH

got a questionable haircut, how would yall suggest I style it? :))

it’s not super ideal, I don’t hate it but I definitely think some good styling would be amazing! for people who have this haircut or have any ideas, please give some suggestions! :33

preferable if the styling process can be done with a blow dryer and round brush because I don’t have access to a straightener. I also have Velcro rolls if that helps :))

please help; do you guys think i might be genderfluid?

okay hi, first time posting here!! I am 15, AFAB, have always been a cishet girl and ally of the lgbtqia+ community. lately I’ve been confused about my gender identity and i also started feeling a little dysphoric about my feminine curves and figure; it’s making me a little bit anxious because i don’t know if a different gender identity will make me feel more at home. i want to list out some things about me that bothered me relating to my gender, because maybe it’s easier to read than one really big paragraph :)

— I don’t care about pronouns (she/her, he/him, they/them) and they don’t matter to me. I personally just wouldn’t want neo and xeno pronouns to be used for me but that could just be because I haven’t researched it. If I were to pick a favourite pronoun it would be they/them

— I used to dress feminine as a kid (skirts and dresses were an actual fave) but when I became a teen (maybe around 12-13) I started dressing more androgynous/masculine. I can’t tell for certain if it’s because of body dysmorphia and insecurity, or if it’s because of gender dysphoria and feeling uncomfortable with my feminine body type. I think even if I were to get my “ideal” body type I’d still dress masc

— I really wanted to look androgynous for a long time or even just look like a boy, but because I also don’t hate being a girl and would love to switch between the two it has led me to the genderfluid community. To put it simply, I love being a girl and I know I would love being a boy; I wouldn’t want to be no gender so probably not nonbinary (open to suggestions though!).

— I think my feminine curves would be helpful for me on some days but on the other days it would be horrid! So I’ve been trying to buy a binder without the knowledge of my homophobic parents. (I live in Southeast Asia if you guys can give advice on buying a binder!)

thank you so so so much for reading this and thank you extra if you leave a response, please help!!!💗💗😖😭 (also really love the genderfluid baddies on here YALL ARE ACTUALLY SO COOL THOUGH ???!!!!)

anyone else just accustom to sucking in their stomachs? 😭

it’s like I can only ever actually see the size of my stomach if i breathe out on purpose and adjust my posture or something because otherwise my breathing has already been adjusted to make my stomach smaller without noticeable discomfort 💀 DOES ANY OF THIS MAKE SENSE ????

i really want to start dressing alternative, would love advice!!

i’ve always really admired alternative people and thought they were really cool and that their outfits really spoke about who they were; i would love to start doing that for myself but im not quite sure where to start!!

for starters im still a teenager so costs and potential dress coding from religious/strict parents are definitely still in play. my ideal style would be a mix of grunge and punk, because i love the casualness and comfort in grunge, but love the layering/accessorising and colour palette in punk. i’ve been experimenting with DIY (specifically accessories because im scared to do clothes so far) and looking for more old clothes to upcycle; im not good with it but im learning. im also making plans to visit thrift stores in my city with my friends since my parents don’t allow thrifting.

what am i doing right/wrong as of now? and what would you suggest i can also do alongside these, given my situation? :(( general tips and knowledge for alt babies would be super helpful too!! thank you!! 💗💗

TL;DR :
Teenager with strict and religious parents that don’t allow thrifting though im still trying to go to thrift stores with friends. Experimenting with diy. Would like to dress more grunge-punk. Upcyling tips, general tips for alt babies please 💗💗✨

beginner drummer having a hard time! :(

hello everyone, im a beginner drummer at the moment and i really like it, I would love to continue learning for a long time. I’ve been learning for about 4 months, currently learning my first song on grade 3, and ive been noticing something about me that i feel could be slowing my progress

I can’t seem to play according to beat, but only by ear 😭😭 and when I say that I mean I can’t play a song that I’ve already learned the grooves and fills for just by listening to the BPM and following along, I can only play it after I listen to the song several times and become familiar with how it sounds :(((

any tips on how I can get used to playing with BPM instead of with familiarity? also anyone else has this problem? 💀💔

hi, do your parents teach you that any emotion besides “happy” is not okay?

I think a big thing about me is that growing up, I learned that any emotion which wasn’t happy is not okay, so now i mask my emotions to an insane extent and the way I am around my parents vs the way I am with other people are two completely different people

hello, I first want to apologise in case im posting this to the wrong subreddit. idk where else to ask this question, please bear with me 😔

I’ve been drawing for two years, and I’ve been doing digital art for maybe 1 and a half years. i keep comparing myself to other artists and feeling like im stuck, like they’re at a level that i’ll never be able to reach no matter how hard and how long i work. i always did art studies pretty consistently, though i’ve been doing more intensive studies this year, and while i definitely have improved significantly, nothing stops the thoughts of “there’s still so much farther to go” “my drawings still look so bad” “what is it going to take to get to their level”

i know art takes a long time to learn and i know im really impatient, but its becoming difficult to say that im an artist when it feels like everyone around me is better :(((

any advice on how you guys usually cope with it?
