I really wanted to go to work

I really wanted to go to work

A month or so ago I texted my partner this. I remember being half awake but not really knowing what was going on. At that point I was asking assessment questions to my partner in my sleep whenever he would get into bed and asking him if he wanted his provider to talk to him all the time lol. Luckily I didn’t have my directors number saved in my phone because I remember feeling determined to write her but couldn’t find it.

I’m glad adult me accepts younger me

Not to romanticize stationery too much, but 16-20 year old me would never have had this pen. I was going through a lot of deconstruction from ages 20-26 and I can fully say at age 27 I accept who I am fully and unconditionally. This combo of this quote and the journal being about books is very important as books has helped me become who I am - and not who my parents wanted me to be. And also, I was consistently journaling through the deconstruction and it’s amazing to read back!

Reminder: it’s National childfree day tomorrow!!

Hello wonderful childfree ladies!! Just a reminder, August 1st is National childfree day! I’m not sure if many are aware that it is actually noted as that day. It’s not a day as widely recognized as mothers & Father’s Day, but we deserve to be equally celebrated - especially since we do the hard work of not getting pregnant and having a human that might cause more harm to the world.

Take some time to treat yourself, whether it’s something small as a piece of cake from a grocery store or a shopping spree, you deserve it!!

I think I will be sleeping in tomorrow then spending the day reading or at the lake. ✨

Most amount of angel numbers I’ve seen at once!

My time card at work. It got messed up because I missed a punch in and it hasn’t been approved yet, but I saw this in the morning when I logged in! I see angel numbers consistently and my life has been going great, 999 was the last one I saw yesterday and these are the first ones I’ve seen today!

Banned in Canada 🇨🇦

I am from the U.S and went to Canada for the weekend. I learned that Ghost is banned in Canada.

I learned that my alani’s are 60 less mg of caffeine in Canada as well.

I still love Canada, though, I think if I lived there I would have to stock up on US energy drinks.

Now tell us, were can we get bulk energy drinks? Only at Costco?

We’ve been downing our energy drinks lately, I may be a bit addicted now - but it could be a worse addiction; I could get addicted to alcohol like the rest of my family but I don’t touch that one bit.

We just got an energy drink/drink station for our game room.

Also, what energy drinks should we try??? I love alani’s and he loves ghosts. But open to trying it all!

The crisp

What a heavenly thing to wake up to every morning (said from an agnostic). Wow this McDonald’s coke was CRISP!!! We have a McDonald’s right next to my work so some mornings I get them if I want to be good on my fasting. Onto a great day!!!

The sprayed edges get to me

I don’t have the twilight series in physical form. I didn’t really read it as a tween just watched the movies. I HAD to get this sprayed edition yesterday of it. And one of my instant buy authors came with a book out on Tuesday so obviously. And now I have 16 copies of the great Gatsby!!

What type of art should we get for this awkward wall?

We just moved in two months ago after living in separate apartments, we just ordered the duvet cover on the second slide and our bedroom color scheme is blues. We are possible going to cover that window with our excess blackout curtains that are more navy blue. Open to suggestions on art!

Goal: give out three compliments everyday

I want to be better about giving people compliments that are meaningful and daily. I do this occasionally but I always feel better when I give a compliment and especially when I get a compliment. So why not give them more out in the world? The three main people I want to give a compliment to are:
Myself . I’m usually the hardest on my self as most humans are and we deserve a compliment everyday. So why not give ourselves one?
My close ones. I want to give one of them a compliment everyday day. I usually only give my partner compliments but my friend and family deserve them as well.
My coworker/strangers. When I’m working all day, I’d like to give at least one coworker a compliment. Whether it’s in passing or whether it’s someone I closely work with. And if I’m not working like on weekends, giving a stranger whether it’s a store worker or someone I’m walking by on my walks.

I think the world could use more compliments especially with how terrible the world can be. And this is especially going to be helpful as the more depressing months for people are slowly starting…

My main hobby with my new hobby!

I recently started getting into board games more after moving in with my partner 2 months ago. He has 150+ board games and I have 200+ books. I’m slowly inching up to his board games number /s (I currently have 5!🤣).

The other day we were at our favorite board game store which has cozy games as well as co-operative games which I love. I found THE PERFECT board game for me.

His on a vacation with his family right now but I’m going to learn it this week! It also can be one player so I’m excited.

New journal! Isn’t it so cool?

I took a little break from journaling after journaling one year for 365+ days straight. I’ve been on and off since. I decided this morning to make Thursdays a journaling morning no matter what I’m feeling. I tend to journal less when I’m happy. This is how I introduce my journals on the first page! I’m not religious but I’ve been seeing angel numbers a lot this year so I’m holding to some type of hope that things will continue to go strong. And my word of the year is content because that’s how I’ve been feeling 🩷

I lost 3 lbs! So it WAS the intermittent fasting

I’ve been intermittent fasting for the past month now. I didn’t take it as seriously and only did 12 hour days.

I was once on semaglutide (a type of ozempic) and did IF with it and lost a lot. I got off of it but gained the weight back. I don’t want to go on it again - I want to do it the healthy way.

Anyways, I barely check the scale and only go on my boyfriends moms scale when I’m over and remember. I decided too and I lost 3 lbs! And this was after eating a big meal too.

This was checked on Sunday and after that it encouraged me to do 16 hour days. I did 17 hours yesterday and the day before! I want to make IF a lifelong choice for my health and my future. I’m going to slowly start pairing it with exercising more but one step at a time! :)

My partner got a kindle colorsoft!

After a year of my boyfriend telling me his not going to get a kindle, he finally got one. He has been reading and listening to books a lot more since being with me and I’d like to think I’m semi the cause of it though his had a lot of books just didn’t read for years.

I’ve had my kindle for 4+ years and have read 950 books and most of those are thanks to that.

Cheers to another book couple!

One luxury I’ve noticed recently

Apart from the many other luxuries I’ve noticed about the childfree lifestyle is the freedom to prepare.

Everyday after work when I get home I instantly pack my lunch and my outfit for the next day so tomorrow morning me doesn’t have to worry about that. I know not everyone does this; but it’s helped me a lot. I like to go straight to work in the mornings and the only thing I have to do is prepare my tea.

I know if I was a mom I’d be stressing out getting kids ready for school and other activities. I don’t have the capacity to do that and recently I’ve noticed that more and more. I wake up every morning grateful I’ve chosen this life forever. I know even though tomorrow morning me will thank me faster, but I also know older me will be raving about the things I did for younger me.

What is a rare childfree luxury you’ve noticed you’ve had that if you were a parent would be almost impossible?

Cozy Board Game friends and I played for 4+ hours yesterday.

I’ve recently got more into board games since being with my partner as he collects board games and I collect books. This is a game we played with our couple friends last night for 4 hours.

Im thinking of creating a small board game + book club group for women since this was so fun!

DINK’s who love energy drinks

I (27f) Alani lover & (26m) ghost lover. He thinks Alani taste like medicine, which is good for me because he doesn’t take my drinks.

This is the best pack I’ve ever had. The purple cotton candy is my third favorite drink.

  1. Og cotton candy
  2. Hawaiian shave ice
  3. Purple cotton candy

That was the most calm I’ve felt in an interview

I am interviewing because I have a job that is 45 minutes away and right now gas prices don’t match up with the pay. I also value my time and just sitting in a car isn’t fun.

USUALLY I only interview when I quit from a job and don’t have anything lined up. Then I get stressed and think this has to be the interview to get the job. I don’t really prepare myself but right now I am.

And with that, today’s interview was the most calm I’ve ever felt. I hope I get the job, but if not I have another interview lined up this week and another one just messaged me asking for a phone screening. I ALSO have a job in which I’m grateful to have. The confidence that felt to feel is empowering and I wish everyone the same in there job search.
