Does anyone here take the uni bus to and from AURAK and Sharjah?
If so, can you please drop a comment so I can contact you... thank you!

I saw some posts where people suggested to first follow the built-in tutorials before moving to YouTube. So I am gonna do that first, but I wanna then follow a good playlist on YouTube to learn everything from scratch. There are so many to choose from so I can't really decide on one.
I am going to be starting ME in 2 months so I really wanna learn as much as I can from now on since I've got nothing else to do.
Please message me if you are an international student who finished their alevels (pearson edexcel) and is waiting for their results to be announced on august 13th.
thank you

I need to obtain a transit visa but my nationality is not eligible for an e-visa. Does anyone know how long it takes for a transit visa to be issued by VFS global on average? It's for university at METU NCC. I need to know so I can plan the timeline properly and not miss the flight.
Costs of living excluding rent and utilities (electricity, water, gas). Assuming I will cook like 4-5 days a week and will not be travelling that much, maybe go out with friends once every 2 weeks.
I've got some questions about the whole process of travelling to NCC like visas, flights and residence permit etc etc. If anyone travelled from the UAE before, please let me know below.
thanks!
Would love the opinion of any alumnis or students currently studying there. I am an international student who finished my A Levels and have my predicted grades (A*BB) and my igcses (7A* 2As). How is the uni like in terms of the professors, lab facilities, quality of education, internships and the unis practical way of teaching...
thanks! (I am from Sri Lanka btw, studied in the middle east tho)

No like seriously, does it really matter what a university's ranking is?
Some say the rankings depend mostly on the uni's research output and not really the overall quality of the university. But if u look up a uni's QS rankings, there are "Ranking criterias" like Academic Reputation, Employment Outcomes, Employer Reputation... which are out of 100 and are important factors imo, but it also includes other stuff which dont matter at all like International Faculty Ratio, International Student Diversity, International Student Ratio which also have a score outta 100... and then an overall score out of 100.
So idk if I should even bother applying to a uni that's ranked 800 or is there a range within which I should apply?
I am gonna do Mechanical Engineering btw (bachelors). There is also some ranking by subject thing like the rankings for "mechanical eng" only etc, I js saw a uni that's ranked 801–850 but it's ranking for mechanical engineering is 250-300, which is a HUGE difference.
So my question is, do overall uni qs ranking matter? or should I focus on subject ranking only? And if rankings do matter, then what is a range that makes a uni "good"
I have already applied to METU Ankara, and now I am going to apply to METU NCC as well. I have seen some people absolutely diss on METU NCC for some reason and call the degree u get from there a "paper" degree or whatever, even tho it's literally METU. Most of those people are from the cyprus reddit page tho so maybe they're just salty or sum idk so I wanted to ask here.
People also say that since the campus is in northern cyprus, many countries and companies do not recognize the uni coz of it's location, which is weird coz isn't it just another branch of METU?
I understand that METU Ankara is competitive asf which clearly makes it better which is why I am also trying at METU NCC. My Alevel grades will also qualify me for a 50% scholarship at METU NCC which is WAYYY cheaper than the unis in my country (90% difference).
Is METU NCC not worth it? Is the degree not recognised internationally? Or is that all bs and can I pay the 50 usd app fee and submit my application?
lmao notice how not a single spaghetti noodle got swallowed
this has been happening for the past 2 weeks now, I hit the record button and begin yapping, I usually sometimes switch to a different tab or app if I am asking chatgpt something related to presentation im working on etc so I wanna look at it while I speak. When I come back to chatgpt, the waveform becomes stuck and I've got to spam the stop recording button and it takes a while to activate, AND the audio always gets cut off at the end, the last few sentences don't get transcribed. I used to love how good the voice to text was and now it's really annoying. Anyone else facing this problem?
I got into AURAK and a uni in hungary called Uni of Pecs (not that crazy but it is the first uni in hungary, not THAT famous for engineering)
Should I go to AURAK in RAK (with the scholarship, its the same price) or go to Hungary.
Electrical Engineering btw, bachelors
I got a 40% scholarship (mechanical eng) and I've got to maintain 3.6+ GPA to keep it. The 40% that I am getting is borderline what my family can manage, so I literally CANNOT mess up. it's may rn and uni starts in sep so can all the ME students here PLEASE give me some solid advices and shit to avoid. I do not wanna mess up whatsoever. Oh btw if I can get to 3.75, it goes up to 70% which would be AMAZING coz it'll be a massive relief for my Dad 😭, so imma deffo try for that
Am i reading this wrong or does Taylors charge almost 3k for submitting an application????? Or is it for reserving seat AFTER applying to the uni. I am an international student btw looking to apply for mech eng bachelor. Should I apply now, i dont wanna waste my time if the chances of getting in is low and if the application fee is actually that high 😭
I got 7A*2A in my Edexcel IGCSEs and AAB in my AS btw
so like u get an idea of my academic position or whatever
Is UCSI for good for mechanical engineering? What are the professors like, are they supportive and knowledgable? I saw on their site that they've got co-op programs which is a huge plus for me. Also what are the lab facilities like for engineering?
thank youu!
i am an international student who finished A Levels. AS grades were AAB and A Level predicted are A*BB (im confident i got more in my finals, my teachers hate me alot)
I am looking to apply for UTM but the deadline for phase 1 is over (ended on may 15) and now the new application window is phase 2 (June 23 to July 17, 2026)
should I apply and do I have a decent chance of getting in? Coz it is the second phase so i feel like the chances are very slim. I am looking to do a bachelors in mech eng
I want to know if I have a decent chance to get in before paying the application fee of RM 450 which is quite high and I have already paid for so many uni application fee and I dont wanna make my dad pay another one unless I got a decent chance to get in.
hey there! i am applying to SRH University in heidelberg for electrical engineering. when i decided to read posts on reddit about this university i was very upset and started to think that i made a wrong choice about my future university 😭
i have good english (C1) but i do not know german at all right now, but i am planning to start learning it from now and continue until the university intake, and then keep improving it in germany as well because i know it is really important. i also plan to work on personal projects and internships alongside my studies, not only the ones provided by the uni but extra ones as well if possible.
i do not know german as of right now so getting into a state university is not possible for me, so my choice fell on srh coz its english fully and also state recognized. now after reading different posts online i keep seeing people calling it a “degree mill” or saying it is not really respected, and it honestly makes me worried.
i want to ask students or graduates, will it really be hard to get a job after graduating from here, or is that just exaggeration online? how is it actually in reality for electrical engineering students? basically is SRH really THAT bad? like will I have paid so much money for absolutely nothing? Zero chance of employment in germany or anywhere?
i am from bangladesh btw and living in a middle east country (ive lived and studied here all my life) where unis are VERY expensive compared to the srh fee (14-21k euros a year), which is why im considering going to srh (i can work and get PR too) instead of paying much more for a degree which is only locally recognized and I will have to leave the country if i dont get employed (the country i am in doesnt give permanent residency)
i will be very glad for your answersss TT
