X4 Straight Sets Upper Body Workout on the app

X4 Straight Sets Upper Body Workout on the app

I did this workout yesterday and it was amazing. It’s about 60 minutes long and I hit basically every upper body muscle. I actually lifted fairly heavy throughout this session and felt like I got an amazing pump in. I don’t normally do hour long workouts but I’m trying to build up my upper body so I gave this one a go! I’ve been seeing some negativity about the app recently and I wanted to post about how the app is so much more than just the 10 week programs she provides. Workouts like these have excellent programming and I felt like I was basically a world class body builder afterwards! I had had delusions of grandeur and even thought about becoming a fitness influencer after this workout! I eventually came back down to earth but man this workout scratched at itch for me!

Why doesn’t Caroline have more variety?

I am currently exploring some J MacDermot- thanks to recs on here and am really enjoying it. what I notice is that he often makes a movement more challenging not by upping weights but by changing grip and stance- today were Arnold presses but seated with legs out in front: I wonder why Caroline never does this? so the sessions with JD. feel like they have a lot of variety even though the moves are the same. I was getting so fed up with the all sessions- it felt like every session was the same session/

Been repeating Iron, but want to switch it up for one week. What videos do you revisit?

I want to do some random videos for a week and then start Iron fresh next week (and challenge myself to complete it in the intended time frame).

What videos do you revisit when you need to shake it up? HIIT is OK but I don't love cardio. I love the lifting of Iron.

Post Tummy Tuck

Anyone do Iron series after surgery? When did you feel comfortable starting again? Curious if anyone has any experience.

I am almost 18wpo. I started Iron yesterday. It was leg day, so I could do everything. I’m gonna skip the ab days and probably the glute days (mostly because I hate thrusts 🙈).

Iron + Running

I discovered Caroline very recently and fell in love with the Iron Series, it's exactly what I needed to complement my running.
Now my problem is that I usually run 2x a week (for recreational purposes, just for the sake of it) and it would be a lot to fit 5 Iron sessions together with the runs.
Anyone here in the same boat? What do you do?

Squat Wedge Question

I've been using a yoga block for heel elevated squats with CG videos for years but just got a set of squat wedges. Is it best to position them further apart like a regular squat or together to mimic how close they are on a yoga block? * I've only done her videos from YouTube where she uses a yoga block.

Does anyone here jump around workouts and still see results?

I’m finding it hard to stick to a program at the moment because life has been crazy and we have faced sickness after sickness in our household. I think I’m going to start just choosing a workout each day based on my energy levels, rather than being strict about a program. If I have time, I’ll do a longer session and if I’ve been up half the night, I’ll just do something quick. My questions are: what is a good structure to follow if I’m doing this? I am planning to do 4 sessions a week and then 1 Pilates class.
And has anyone done this and still seen results?

What’s next?

I just finished the Fuel series and am wondering what I should do next. I started Fuel postpartum lose weight and get back some of my pre-pregnancy muscle. I have really enjoyed the cardio weight combo so I am wondering what other programs she has that you all enjoyed if you really liked Fuel, or should I just do Fuel again and try to “perfect” it so to speak?

General App/Workout Question

I’ve followed CG for a few years now and love her workouts, I was wondering if the workouts on her app repeat?

The reason I ask is because I currently have a routine I follow at the Gym Mon-Friday using an app called Hevy. I this app I create workouts and log the weight week on week.

I’d love to still use this app alongside CGX and before committing wanted to know if the programmes repeat week on week?

Questions

I am a runner (usually 3 time a week, walk 5miles on days I’m not running), which CG should I follow. I like doing full body. Should I just pick 3/4 of her full body workouts and do that each week? Any recommendations? I want to stay lean and toned without always been inflamed in my legs.

Increase weights

How do you know when it is time to increase weights with her programs? It seems like there is so many different exercises in one week. I can’t keep track of what weights I used for every exercise used. A traditional strength training it’s very easy to record a push pull leg day by CGX constantly doing different exercises. I don’t know how to keep up or when to increase weight.

Results of Doing CGX Workouts for ~4 Years

Still want to lose about 5 pounds to see some more definition, but pretty happy with my progress. I had an epiphany the other day that made me go, "wow I look good!" All thanks to CGX!

Simple salmon dinner that always hits 🥔🥬

Baked salmon with roasted baby potatoes, green beans, lemon, black pepper, and herbs. Super simple, filling, and perfect for an easy dinner.

Recipe:

  • 1 salmon fillet
  • Baby potatoes
  • Green beans
  • 1/2 lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried herbs

How I made it:
Toss the potatoes with a little olive oil, pepper, and herbs, then roast at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes. Add the salmon and cook for another 12–15 minutes. Steam or sauté the green beans, then finish everything with fresh lemon.

What would you add to this plate?

Glutes without hip thrust/bridges

Does she have any workouts available on YouTube that are for glutes, but without hip thrust and bridges? My body just can’t handle those moves right now. Is that even an option with her?

Running and Caroline's workouts

I've been doing Caroline's workouts for nearly 2 years and I can't believe my progress. I feel strong, healthy, and even strangers tell me I look strong. I'm naturally very petite and don't gain muscle easily, so I'm conscious that I don't want to lose any hard-won gains!

I've now taken up couch to 5k and wondering how everyone manages their running with strength workouts? My plan has 3 runs a week, but strength training will always be my no. 1. What changes can I expect physique-wise? Am I going to lose muscle mass? Could the running help me finally shift the last bit of lower belly fat that still hangs on for dear life? Any insights welcomed!

Does my workout count (Epic 1, Day 9)?

I just "completed" today's workout. Some of the exercises were insane (one legged plank hold twist, the pistol squats). Despite dripping in sweat, I don't know if I actually did half the exercises correctly. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm afraid that when I finish Epic 1, I can't really say I finished it because I'm stumbling through it.

Advice needed

Hello! I’ve been consistent with Caroline’s workouts for the past 3 months, I am still very much a beginner and I am not the most active, lifestyle wise since I’ve been working from home for 6+ years.

However, I started 3 months ago and just finished EPIC 1 off YouTube and wanted to get some advice on what to take on next and what would be the better option going forward.

For reference, I’m 1.73m tall & 74 kg.
All advice is appreciated ⭐️
