I had my final update from the clinic today, 5 embryos are being frozen!

After a long and emotionally taxing two years, I finally got accepted for NHS funding and had my fertility preserved. I have a very complicated background with only one ovary (lost the other due to ovarian torsion when I was 15). I have severe deep infiltrating endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS (PMOS), PID, PMDD, hematosalpinx, endometriomas and dermoid cysts. My organs are glued together with dense adhesions and endometriosis lesions. It’s pretty awful.

I’ve struggled with infertility my whole life, struggled to get all of the above diagnosis for my whole life too and was finally diagnosed in 2023 after 18 years of begging to be taken seriously by my doctors.

Anyway, I was referred to fertility specialists by my endometriosis specialist because I’m waiting for surgery to remove endometriosis, cysts and unstick my organs, but there is severe damage to my ovary which means it may have to be removed, so preserving my fertility became a priority.

Although the funding team couldn’t see that, and rejected my application so many times over a two year period. It got to the point where we’d given up, I accepted I’d never be a mother and pushed for my surgery to be scheduled

Fast forward to 5 weeks ago, I got a call from my fertility specialist saying some rule has changed so I’m eligible now! My partner and I were brought in to do some final up to date tests and I was sent home with a prescription. Less than a week later we were signing the consent forms and preparing for our drug appointment.

My period lined up perfectly. 3 days after my drug appointment I started my stims, took them for 9 days in total and my one single ovary produced 15 follicles! 14 of which were fertilised 🥹

On day 3 I got a call to say that 3 of my embryos are doing really well, 3 are okay ish and 8 have failed. I was told the 3 that are doing well will be frozen on Monday and they’ll give the other 3 until Tuesday and see how they get on.

I got my final call earlier today and they told me that I have 5 embryos that are successful and have been frozen! I am so happy with this number, I thought for sure I’d only have the 3 that were doing well, I knew my numbers would be very low cause I only have one ovary. So one third surviving is amazing news for me.

I was also told that of my 5 embryos, two of them have split and appear to be identical twins😳 the clinic said one of them has split and they’re 99% certain that it’s identical twins. The other they said they’re 50% sure but it could be just the placenta forming. Twins are very heavy in my family, with 4 sets in my immediate family so this isn’t too surprising. The clinic also said they would use these embryos last since they come with increased risks.

But I wanted to share my story with the void, if you got this far thank you for reading. It’s been such a horrible few years and I’m so glad it’s done now. I have my fertility preserved and I can go ahead and have surgery to give me my life back without worrying that I’ll never have a baby.

Please help, how do I open these without the plastic snapper?

Long story short, I’m starting IVF injections this evening and I can’t open these ampoules without shattering them!

The videos the hospital provided show how to open them with a plastic cap of some sort, but I haven’t been given any and each time I try to snap them with kitchen towels / cloths over them they just shatter entirely.

I need to start them tonight, it’s almost 11pm so there’s nowhere I can go.

Girls what’s the easiest way to open these?😭

Supposed to take my first injections today but I don’t have any of the plastic snappers which are used in the videos. I tried to open one and it shattered and went everywhere!

Starting my injections tomorrow, I’m terrified.

After a long journey of fighting for this, I’ve finally got my meds and I’m starting my injections tomorrow since today is day one of my period.

I have barely had a doctor tell me what to expect or what is going to happen, I’ve had to watch online videos on how to mix and inject my medication and I’ve been offered zero counselling from the clinic.

To be entirely honest I’m terrified, this is my once chance at this and I haven’t been guided at all. I’m due to have a surgery soon to potentially remove my ovary due to extensive endometriosis, cysts and adhesions. My endometriosis specialist said it’s likely my ovary won’t survive because of how damaged it is. I only have only ovary left, I lost it due to a 10cm dermoid cyst twisting and cutting off the blood supply when I was 15.

I was hoping somebody with experience could offer some guidance or advice, what can I expect, is it going to hurt? What are your experiences?

I’ll take anything at this point😭

Recently picked up a PlayStation 1 with an SD card instead of disc laser, how do I add games?

I assume similar to emulating through Emudeck?

Submitted our consent forms and have my drug appointment today

After an awful year of being rejected and appealing, we have finally been given the go ahead from the funding team (NHS). Apparently some rule has changed which allowed me to be eligible for fertility preservation, but nobody can tell me what the rule is (suspicious, i believe someone messed up and now they’re brushing it under the carpet).

Anyway, I’m super nervous and don’t know what to expect, I’ve been given a bag full of injections and I feel overwhelmed just at the sight of them.

I haven’t really had a doctor tell me about the procedures, nor have I been offered any counselling which the consent forms says has to be offered. I signed them anyway because I don’t want to delay this any further! I’ve already been waiting for surgery for nearly three years.

This is my first time going through a fertility pathway, I’m due to have a surgery that will very likely make me infertile, so we’re doing this as a precaution. I have already lost one ovary when I was 15 and my remaining ovary is severely compromised by endometriosis, endometriomas, a 13cm dermoid cyst, and PMOS. I also have hematosalpinx (blood in my fallopian tube) so it’s likely that’s already been destroyed beyond repair.

What can I expect from taking this medication? Is it painful or does it have any hormonal side effects? Any advice or suggestions is greatly welcomed!

Thank you!

Looking for inspiration

Looking for inspiration, recently lost my grandad. He was a painter and decorator, long story short I called him grandad ladders which eventually turned into gaggy ladders. I wanted to get a tattoo on my arm in his honour of some ladders. Maybe add some paint cans and brushes?

Thank you

I’ve been looking at Lifetime ISA’s but I’m wary about opening one with some random bank/app I’ve never heard of.

Is there any reason why regular banks and building societies don’t offer these? From what I’ve read it’s pretty similar to a Help to Buy ISA but you can choose to keep your money for retirement instead? (Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

Does anyone have experience with these providers, if so what are they like and which would you recommend?

I have been doing my own research but since false reviews are common I thought I’d ask in here to be safe.

This months supply

Just got my second prescription, I had just the gummies last month but I quickly developed a tolerance to them so the doctor suggested trying oils with them.

I was prescribed a quarter of gummies before bed but ended up having to take two to feel something after just 4 weeks.

I’ve never tried the oils before so I’m excited to see how I get on!

I have a few questions about my plants

I have four carnivorous plants, Drosera capensis, Sarracenia leucophylla, Sarracenia purpurea and Dionaea muscipula.

I got them around 8 months ago so I’m still kinda new to keeping them, I’m in north west England and keep them outside in a dish of rainwater.

I’ve noticed my fly trap isn’t growing at all, it’s actually looking worse than when I first got it (first photo). What can I do to help it?

Also my sundew has started to grow something which I assume will be a flower, should I keep it or remove it?

My pitcher plants have some pitchers that are browning and crispy, should I remove them or let it do its thing?

If you look at where they started compared to where they are now, they’ve definitely grown a lot except for the fly trap.

The indoor photo is the day I got them and the outdoor photos were just taken.

I’d really appreciate any advice :)

Can anyone else not view emails from inpost?

I’ve noticed they’ve started being forwarded by Vinted in the past few days and now I’m not able to access any information on the emails.

Same with when I have something to collect which is a little annoying because I can’t access my QR code to scan.

How to sell 1000’s of buttons?

From working in a shirt factory, my partner’s father has thousands and thousands of genuine Mother of Pearl and coconut husk buttons.

Does anyone know where he can sell these, ideally wholesale.

We’re based in the UK , specifically North West England.

TO ALL THOSE UNDER LIVERPOOL WOMENS HOSPITAL, MR HAMOUDI HAS LEFT THE HOSPITAL

I spoke to one of the secretaries at the hospital and she confirmed this! There is now only ONE CONSULTANT at the hospital who can do endometriosis surgeries.

As somebody who has been waiting for a failed emergency procedure to continue with a specialist for ALMOST THREE YEARS, this is unbelievable.

The secretary I spoke to has no further information at the moment but said she will find out and update me.

I don’t even know how to process this.

Tried booting my old ps3 super slim for the first time in forever, had a power cut and now it won’t come on.

It turned on and wanted to factory reset since it’s been so long it said something about corruption, so I set it to do a factory reset and then had a power cut not a few minutes later - before it had finished doing its thing.

Now it won’t turn on at all.

It has the red power indicator, but it won’t turn on. The light doesn’t go green, there’s no beeping. I’ve tried booting in safe mode, I’ve tried doing fan tests. Nothing is working.

Any suggestions?

Why is almost every listing a random price now?

It wasn’t long ago if something was a random number like £4.52 you’d avoid it cause chances are it’s a bot and a scam (too good to be true).

But in the past few weeks I’ve noticed almost every listing is like this and the some sellers have over 100 5 star reviews.
