Nigerian Jollof is a severely acquired taste

So this isn’t a new conversation at all. But I just wanted to share my experience.

I’ve had many Nigerian jollof over the years. And they all haven’t been to my liking at all. (I don’t want to say they were bad, but they actually were bad). Now, I was thinking it’s probably it was the caterer or something (because each time, it was either at a wedding or a conference or some form of event,
I attended) like I made an excuse. Had one a few weeks ago and that was soo bad. And you know, anytime this debate comes up, I’m like trying to be unbiased by saying it depends on who cooks the food. So I’m thinking, not all of them would be bad. Because you see a lot of Nigerians swearing by it. Especially their smoky jollof. I was curious, perhaps the authentic Nigerian jollof is actually good.

So there was this jollof someone was hyping. And Ghanaians I knew also bought and ate it regularly. So I’m thinking to myself, it must be good then. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. And I wondered how my Ghanaians thought it was good jollof. The ones recommending it, they have lived amongst Nigerians for long, grew up outside Ghana, and for some reason are used to it. I’m thinking to myself, they must be used to it. Or it’s an acquired taste. And once you acquire that taste, you end up actually preferring that. I was soo disappointed. Like I’m still open minded. But at this point, I don’t know why I’m still bothering myself

Why is tor browser so slow?

I sometimes use tor to browse. I couldn’t tell which is more slow between tor and tortoise.

Could it be the word “tor” was coined from “tortoise” hence my experience?

Pls, tell me if I need to do anything differently in the settings. It’s frustrating.
