We need to have a failsafe mechanism against persecution. We can't let anti-NE narratives become mainstream.

An Arunachali girl was getting hate comments online, so she responded harshly which made mainlanders dunk on her more. They didn't even check that she started it first.

And looking at the Meghalaya Honeymoon case where the bride killed the groom but the blame was on the entire NE, it's very easy to turn mainlanders against us.

A bit of a rumour and some offensive actions and they will be baying for our blood.

So we can't let any obnoxious narratives become prominent.

You may not know, but there are already fringe Bengali nationalist scholars promoting theories saying Bengalis are the original owners of the NE land and that we are settlers who displaced the aborginal Bengalis.

This is so obviously fake and can be disproven by anyone with access to knowledge of Northeastern history, but these lunatic scholars are impossible to convince.

If these low-iq theories become mainstream, we could see the sentiment turn against us. And as we have seen, it will turn ugly. We need a way to prevent this.

Arunachali Girl studying in Shillong was getting hate comments, so she replied back with proper insults. The Mainlanders got offended and started hounding her. They didn't even check that they started it first

Like literally, this Airfilter account cropped the image to make it seem like she insulted everyone without provocation.

Question

The popular claim is that Hindus and Muslims lived in relative peace by the 19th century, with even wars and dynasties being about territory and power than religion. And that villages and cities had a lot of syncretism.

The arrival of the British ostensibly altered that, with state policy focused on pitting one community against another. Including the Pakistan movement and the Muslim League.
