Last year, around my birthday, I lost my Dadaji, the one person who truly understood me. This year, for the first time in my life, I asked my parents for a birthday gift: a Dyson Corrale. I know it’s expensive and not something everyone would spend money on, but after working really hard, topping my exams, and making my parents proud, it felt like something I’d earned.

Unfortunately, during an argument, my cousin threw it out of our 30th-floor window. It was completely destroyed. My parents have banned him from coming home, but that doesn’t bring the gift back.

I know it’s just a hair straightener, but it wasn’t really about the product. It was the first thing I had ever asked for, and I never even got the chance to use it. After last year’s birthday, this one meant a lot to me, and now that’s gone too.

I was born and raised in this city, and for the longest time, I genuinely loved it. But lately, especially during the monsoon, it’s heartbreaking to see how poorly we continue to handle the same recurring problems.
I don’t think I need to remind anyone of the lives that have already been lost due to the rains. We’ve seen enough tragedies.

What I fail to understand is the complete lack of accountability from some schools and colleges. It has been raining relentlessly since last night. The conditions were clearly unsafe. Yet, while many institutions chose to work remotely or take precautionary measures, others carried on as if nothing had changed.

This isn’t about declaring holidays at the slightest inconvenience. It’s about exercising basic judgment when public safety is at risk.
On days like these, asking students and staff to travel through flooded roads and disrupted transport isn’t resilience, it’s negligence.

Human life should never be secondary to attendance or routine. Safety is not a privilege; it is a responsibility. And frankly, it’s deeply disappointing that this still needs to be said.
Or, if you want it to hit harder while staying classy: Mumbai has always been celebrated for its resilience. But resilience should never become an excuse for institutional apathy.

It has been pouring relentlessly since last night. Roads are flooded, transport is disrupted, and every monsoon we witness accidents and lives being lost. Yet some schools and colleges continue to function as though these conditions are normal.

No one is asking for unnecessary holidays. A simple work-from-home or online arrangement, wherever feasible, is a basic precaution, not an unreasonable demand.
When the risk is obvious, choosing not to adapt isn’t discipline or commitment. It’s poor judgment.

The question isn’t whether people can somehow make it to campus. The question is: why should they have to risk their safety in the first place?
Human lives should never come second to rigid policies. We can, and should, do better.

Here’s a thing. The one and only thing that will protect you from all the issues with your in-laws is having a spouse with a backbone.

Nobody, I repeat nobody can even touch you if they know their actions will have consequences from your Spouse, especially your in-laws.

In Indian households, damads or son in laws are given higher regards. Even the wife’s parents do that. Especially when the son in law is rich. So trust me, having a Spouse with a backbone is all you need.

Morning: Gentle cleanser, Vitamin C serum + Tranexamic acid and sunscreen

Night: Double cleansing (micellar water and benzoyl paroxide cleanser), ivermectin 1% cream.

Will soon add Salisylic acid 2% twice a week.

My concern: I aim is to avoid acne, especially the ones that leave marks behind. And i have a few PIH and very little PIE left. Heavy acids do not suit me. I just want to prevent acne and pigmentation, at the same time fade the pigmentation that has formed.

This sub has been very helpful to me, as a daughter of divorcee, I never got a chance to come across what marriage is like other than fighting and screaming.

That being said, my mom divorced my dad in 2020. She and I are living our best life.
Here’s the catch, my mom is 48. A very good looking woman (like ya ppl including both men & women stare at her like crazy haha), highly educated and earns really well.

She said that her priority is her job and getting her PhD. And i completely agree. And she will only get married if she finds someone who kinda outperforms her in career as well as a person.

And i 1000% agree with her. Coz she really comes in the top 1% of woman and she deserved a man like that too.

Additionally, idk why I have this fear, what if she never finds a guy (she herself is ok with that) but I won’t be around all the time. I’ll be leaving for my masters soon. She has rightfully rejected all the proposals that came her way (glad she did that)

I am not at all saying that marriage is a compulsion, hell no. But idk why I kinda worry for her when it comes to this. I do encourage her go try out dating apps. I just can’t describe this fear I have you know ?

I just want her to be happy, be it single or married.

But a part of me hopes that she finds a man who is 100000X BETTER than what she desires. Who makes her the happiest. Idk what this fear is. But is there zero possibility for her ?
