Question.. What are the avengers in this current era of marvel.

I understand a lot of teams , especially recently go through a lot of shake ups and change a lot but, the avengers just feel like a floor mat of a team.

Events used to start , marinate and end with the avengers footprints all over it , now it feels like the team just exists because marvel has to include them in stuff , i understand there’s no huge event right now except the upcoming Armageddon, (that lowkey looks like it’ll tie into a dystopian future) . I kinda thought they were doing some long status shift with the recent run by McKay , I actually love it but apparently they are changing the team again so ..

I don’t know i look at the league and even tho they are changing they feel present and stable , same with the x men even with nearly 140 members.

I can’t remember the last time had that stable vibe , thier stories just feel all over the place. And it makes me wonder. What comes next after the avengers, dc has the titans. Marvel still has the x men and the numerous generations bit the avengers just feel stuck in place and a boring loop

I don’t know if I’m the only one who feels like this .

Marvel or at least the avengers should have teenagers in the main roster

Let me start with, I do not like this marvel game, at all , but one of the things I did like was the inclusion of ms marvel in the team and it got me wondering if the team would benefit from having a youthful member in the squad to kind of balance out , maybe not necessarily Spiderman , cuz although the avengers are dysfunctional a lot I feel a youthful POV can help tell stories that are much better and make the avengers more lively.

They don’t have to be kids but teenage heroes like reptil, devil dinosaur , azari, kid kaiju. Think of it like how supergirl is to the justice league

I know the current avengers has been very very… very baseless for the last 6-7 years but I do think they should go this route.

Another huge fumble… ( doesn’t mean it can’t be interesting)

When marvel announced midnight I was so excited for this because I had just made a post saying ghost rider feels like a character that exists in a spawn comic that sometimes crosses over to the main universe. I was expecting a universe predominantly based on horror, mythological fear , cosmic dread but what I was hoping for is a place where the supernatural characters, can have there story re written and be the main face of this universe.

Like in this world, the hydra was a Cthulhu cult and the US made monsters instead of super soldiers to combat the monster Nazi’s, or ghost rider was sent from heaven but got corrupted and became this universes Thor adjacent. Same with other characters, maybe mutants being a genetic experimentation or a disease released from the plague. And the telepathic ones created Charles Xavier as shared telepathic consciousness for mutants to connect to ( this was my personal idea for ultimate x men)

Only to find myself looking at a re skin story for all the characters we know, vampire x men , we literally have that ongoing currently, man spider ? Done that like 10 different times . F4 returning to be weird looking… okay . Look I don’t hate , I am intrigued to see how these stories would change but it just feels like this is a ploy to copy the absolute universe. Which wasn’t needed if they just properly planned the new ultimate universe, but they made it short . I don’t like to diss marvel editorial but this needs to be fixed or else public audience will only read comics with Spiderman and x men in it.

Ghost Rider is a character that feels like he’s not in marvel comics or universe and marvel needs to use him like that

Sometimes when I hear about ghost rider , i genuinely keep forgetting he’s in the marvel universe. He feels Like a character from hellboy or spawn. He enters any comic and you immediately forget it’s about super heroes. Even a lot of superheroes treat him like a natural disaster rather than a person unless it’s a specific team up The vibe , the grotesque darkness and the spiritual evil of the comics in relation to the Christian mythos makes it stand out with its own special lore and rules and marvel needs to market him like that.

The way DC does vertigo with the endless and the connective tissue being that sometimes Constantine finds his way into that realm works wonders and the same should be done with ghost rider, making it in such a way that he is in the marvel universe but his paths rarely crosses with the other heroes. And his world has its own lore . Marvel announced a midnight branch for thier universe , i think this should be the exact move for them. And i also think if they run with that. Aesthetic he can easily be the 4th face of marvel Mount Rushmore
