do you think this guy is a pedophile?

It all started when I met this 29-year-old guy online, here on reddit. At first, he seemed really sweet and nice to talk to. He told me he had serious intentions of marrying me, but deep down, I was feeling confused. I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to marry him, and honestly, I knew I was still way too young to be thinking about something like marriage. On top of that, I was worried about whether talking to him privately like this was even allowed (haram) in Islam, since we weren't married and our conversations didn't have a clear, immediate purpose.

Even though I felt unsure, I kept talking to him because I really liked how gently he spoke to me. It felt good to receive that kind of attention and sweetness, and it felt like it was filling a void—almost like healing my "daddy issues." Because of that emotional connection, I found it really hard to stop talking to him. Even when I tried to pull away, I found myself constantly checking my phone to see if he had messaged, or initiating the chat myself because I missed the way he made me feel.

To keep talking to him, I had told him I was 17, even though I'm actually younger (i’m 16) but looking back, that didn't change how wrong his actions were. Soon, things started taking a uncomfortable turn. He began bringing up inappropriate topics. He asked me if I would wear short dresses for him when we got married, and he kept talking about wanting to touch me.

I explicitly told him, "Can we stop talking about this? It makes me uncomfortable." I reminded him that I was still young, that he needed to respect my boundaries, and that a "no" means "no." I straight up told him that ignoring my boundaries and insisting on physical contact were massive red flags. But he didn't care. He literally told me that he didn't care about my boundaries and that he would still want to touch me even if I said no.
When I pushed back again and asked if he forgot how young I was, he tried to use religion against me. He brought up historical religious marriages to justify himself, claiming it was halal and that we had to follow it—even though earlier he had literally told me he was an ex-Muslim. He was using religion as a tool to manipulate me and pressure me into giving in.

Then he demanded to tell him how old was the prophet’s wife, he told me that we should follow islamic teachings even when i told him that was in the past. I realized he was manipulating me, disrespecting my boundaries, and taking advantage of my youth and vulnerability. So, right then and there, I blocked him for good.

I don't understand why some people decide to have children if they don't know how to treat them

I don't understand why some people decide to have children if they don't know how to treat them afterwards. I don't live in Algeria but I have Algerian parents but with this fucking heat I can't wear shorts above the knee at home in front of my father or my brother because I should "respect" myself and my father while for my brother he doesn't give a damn but my mother doesn't want me to wear shorts in front of him. so I'm forced to wear pants below the knees or wear bed3iya. while the boys can wear whatever they want and walk around even without a shirt. and if maybe my father sees me with shorts he gets really mad . In addition I tell them to turn on the air conditioning but they don't want so I have to go through all this because I'm a girl and only me and my sister or my mother who have to do the chores at home and when I tell them why only we have to do this they tell me because we are women and that’s what islam says. even my mother say this which is not true because islam never say this

is hijab mandatory?

One thing I will never understand is why the hijab is considered mandatory. I think I spent a month doing my research and I still can't convince myself that it's mandatory. Because surah 24:31 says that women must bring down their khimar (headgear) over their chest but does not say that they must wear it even if in ancient times it was worn for climate reasons, but now no one wears a khimar for climate reasons. Then he also says that the woman must cover all her ornaments except what appears and scholars including Ibn Abbas (the Prophet's cousin) have said that it means that the woman must cover the whole body except hands and face. Then there is a Hadith where the prophet tells asthma that when a woman reaches puberty she must cover her whole body except hands and face but that Hadith is weak.

then there is another hadith of Aisha which says when surah 24:31 was revealed the women tore from the edges of their garments and covered themselves but it does not say what they covered.

If there is an obligation to wear the hijab, why didn't slave women in ancient times wear it? The only thing that still makes me "believe" in the hijab is because there is a consensus among scholars that says it is mandatory, and I don't believe that for more than 1,400 years, scholars have been wrong, but there is a lack of evidence that it is mandatory.

struggling with hijab

I'm 16 and I've been wearing the hijab since I was 13. I chose to wear it even though I didn't like it, but I did it anyway for Allah. It's been a year and a half since I started struggling with it. I've tried styles and so many things, but none of them work for me. It makes me so sad every time I wear it, and every time I go out, I feel ugly in it, and I end up not enjoying anything. Sometimes I cry in my room because it feels like I'm stuck with it. I'm already shy, and the hijab makes me more insecure, and at school, I end up not talking to anyone. I can't even say "May Allah help me." I really have to force myself to say that dua because I don't like the hijab at all. I'm thinking about taking it off, but I feel guilty and I'm afraid to go to jahannam. And when I see beautiful women in hijab, it makes me think that maybe one day I might like it. I just have to change styles, but as soon as I wear it, I change my mind.

Obviously, if I take off my hijab, I'll still pray and do Ramadan and all the other things a Muslim is supposed to do. However, the hijab has never made me feel closer to Allah, as many say. In fact, I think just the idea of taking it off makes me like Islam more.
