Steam os in 2026 on the LGS (z2go)

Greetings all!

I was looking at YouTube videos about the topic mentioned in the title, but around 99% of the videos were uploaded a year ago.

Does anyone who has the same device and runs SteamOS on it tell me how the performance is nowadays?

How much better did it get after first installing SteamOS on the device?

Thank you in advance.

Complain about the kicrophone.

My wife said that every time she calls me and I put her on speaker, so she can talk with other people around me, she can't hear the others, but only me.

This phenomenon is happening on WhatsApp calls.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Concerning Auto-TDP on LGS Z2Go

I have been using Winhanced for couple of days now and if I set the hardware control to dynamic, the fans are spinning up like there is no tomorrow.

I know that my device is a noisy one if under high stress, but it did the same with Gears of War Classic (2007) as well. usually there is ni issue with the fans when on Balanced TDP.

Setting up my Legion Go S (Z2 Go / 16GB) as a dedicated "Console Frontend"—is this a solid approach?

Hey everyone!

Setting up my Lenovo Legion Go S AMD Ryzen Z2 Go 16GB RAM edition and wanted to get some feedback on my setup plan before finalizing it.

My goal is to make Windows feel as close to a native console experience as possible like a Steam Deck while keeping full Windows game compatibility for Game Pass anti cheat titles and mods.

Here is my planned setup

1 Hardware and OS

Allocated 6GB VRAM in BIOS or Legion Space. Running standard Windows underneath for full game compatibility.

2 Frontend UI

Setting Steam to auto launch into Big Picture Mode on boot for a controller friendly interface right away.

3 Library Automation

Using NonSteamLaunchers to handle Epic EA GOG and Battle net and import games into Steam.

Using BoilR and SteamGridDB to auto fetch artwork so everything looks native in Big Picture Mode.

4 Power Management

Sticking with native Legion Space for TDP switching and refresh rates to avoid software conflicts.

Looking up per game TDP profiles on sites like PocketPlay instead of using Auto TDP tools.

My Questionsis:

Is this a solid plan or am I missing anything crucial?

Has anyone run a similar Steam Big Picture and NonSteamLaunchers setup on a Legion Go device?

How stable is it day to day?

Do you prefer sticking to native Legion Space or is Handheld Companion with Auto TDP worth the extra setup?

Any tips or potential performance bottlenecks with the 16GB RAM and Z2 Go combo?

Thanks for any feedback!

What's your preferred FSE launcher on you Windows handheld?

I recently joined the handheld community by buying a Legion Go S (z2go).

I have tried several Full Screen Experience (FSE) launchers like Xbox, Winhanced, Steam Big Picture Mode, and Playnite, but none of them felt like a real plug-and-play console experience.

I would like to know the community's insight on their preferred FSE launcher and what other tweaks you did to make it the most comfortable for yourself.

Any way to not use Legion Space

Pulled the trigger on a a legion go S (z2go) yesterday.

I find the Legion Space full-screen experience quite useless.

any way to fully change it to the xbox or other full screen experiences?

will later switch to steam OS. I don't have any USB drive with me at the moment so have to make windows friendly.

How do I learn to "man up"? (36M, feeling completely voiceless in my marriage & business)

I’m not particularly proud to be asking this, but I really need some outside perspective.

I grew up without a father figure, and the men around me weren't exactly role models I could learn from. Fast forward to today: I’m 36, married for 5 years, and feeling completely lost on how to handle my current situation.

Edit: I work with my wife on her family business.

The core problem is that I feel like I have zero say in anything. We’ve talked about this before, and her argument is that at work she is the boss, so she can't treat me differently or look like she's favoring me in front of the employees.

In reality, though, it feels like constant micromanagement and bad decision-making that I'm just supposed to take. It makes me feel small. Lately, I find myself completely checking out mentally—just sitting there watching things happen because it feels like my input doesn't matter anyway.

How do I build the confidence and backbone to stand my ground here? How do you step up and establish healthy boundaries when you were never taught how growing up?

Any advice from guys who have dealt with a similar dynamic would be appreciated.

Hot new 2ds LL from Japan. What else should I install?

Uodate: I arealised that I have a typo in the title. It supposed to be *Got and not *Hot

Got a used 2ds LL in Japan just 3 days ago. Followed the online guides and was successful to install CFW and to change the region to European.

Today I got the clear case and a 64gb card. I got a 4gb card with the system and was able to transfer everything by simply copy and paste over to the new card on my computer.

I got the basic FBI, universal updater and stuff.

What else does the 3ds homebrew community suggest to install?

I recently bought a 2DS LL in Japan and was wondering if anyone can still get StreetPass connections in Jakarta or any major cities.

Lenovo Legion Tab Gen3 vs Gen5

Those who have bought or upgraded to the 5th Gen, how big is the difference between the SD 8 Gen3 and 8 Elite Gen 5?

I am thinking here about emulation of different consoles and Gamenative/Gamehub experiences.

This would be my first gaming tab (previous one was an old Xiaomi tab 5).

Thank you in advance

Is the White Rog Xbox Ally the only true budget handheld pc in 2026?

Last year in December, I decided I finally wanted to get myself a handheld PC. However, I was a bit short on cash at the time and decided to wait it out to see if prices would drop or if new budget options would launch. Fast forward to today, and the hardware market has completely blown up. We have beasts like the ROG Xbox Ally X, the newly announced OLED Xbox Ally X20, and crazy high-end stuff pushing well past the $1,000 mark. After doing a ton of fresh research, it feels like the base white **ROG Xbox Ally** (the Ryzen Z2A model) has effectively become the definitive "budget" king of the market right now. Because it's positioned as the entry point below the premium "X" and "X20" tiers, you can find the white Xbox Ally brand new on sale or refurbished for absolute steals.

Even with the newer chips out, that Z2A processor handles modern games incredibly well, it boots straight into that seamless console-like Xbox UI, and the 1080p 120Hz VRR screen is still incredible for the price. Am I missing something, or is the white ROG Xbox Ally genuinely the best bang-for-your-buck entry point into handheld PC gaming right now if you don't want to spend a fortune? Are there any other hidden budget contenders I should look at before I pull the trigger?

TL;DR: Waited since last December to buy a handheld PC, and now the market is flooded with expensive new hardware like the X20. Is the base white **ROG Xbox Ally (Z2A)** effectively the only true "budget" king left in 2026 due to its lower price bracket, or am I missing a hidden contender?
