Air Fryer Sour Cream Coffee Cake

My air fryer came with a little recipe book, and one of the recipes was for coffee cake. I’d never actually thought about making an entire coffee cake in an air fryer, so I had to see if it worked.

The recipe uses sour cream in the batter to keep the cake moist, with cinnamon brown sugar and chopped pecans layered through the middle and over the top.

I cooked it at 325°F for about 35 minutes, and I was genuinely impressed with how it came out. Golden around the edges, toasted pecans on top, and the middle stayed really soft and moist.

Definitely one of those recipes that made me realize there’s a lot more you can make in an air fryer than I originally thought.

I’ll put the full recipe and instructions in the comments if anyone wants them.

Made a Cajun Garlic Butter Whole Chicken in My Air Fryer

Tried a whole Cajun chicken in the air fryer and it came out ridiculously juicy.

I made a homemade Cajun seasoning, mixed half with garlic butter and worked that under the skin, then mixed the other half with a little oil to make a Cajun paste for the outside.

Cooked it breast-side down first, flipped it, basted it with some of the drippings, then finished breast-side up until it hit 165°F.

Air Fryer French Onion Meatballs with Caramelized Onions, Gravy & Swiss

I kept seeing French onion meatballs made in the oven, so I created an air fryer version.

The meatballs cook directly over caramelized onions, letting all those drippings add even more flavor. Then everything gets covered with onion gravy, crunchy croutons, and Swiss cheese before going back into the air fryer until hot and melted.

It’s rich, savory, cheesy, and basically French onion soup turned into a meatball dinner.

Air Fryer French Onion Meatballs!

I kept seeing French onion meatball recipes made in the oven, so I decided to come up with an air fryer version instead. The meatballs cook over caramelized onions, then everything gets finished with onion gravy, croutons, and melted Swiss cheese. It turned out even better than I hoped.

I made “sheet pan” kofta kebabs in my air fryer

I’ve been seeing sheet-pan kebabs everywhere, so naturally I had to figure out how to make them in my air fryer—without an actual sheet pan.

I pressed the kofta mixture into one big rectangle, scored it into strips, and air-fried the whole thing at once. It came out juicy, nicely charred, and ready in about 15 minutes. I loaded it onto naan with cucumber-tomato salad, tzatziki, and feta.

I tested air fryer eggs 3 ways — fried, sunny-side up, and hard-boiled

I’ve been testing eggs in the air fryer and put together a quick guide for fried eggs, sunny-side up eggs, and hard-boiled eggs.

The biggest thing I found is that preheating the dish makes a big difference for the fried/sunny-side-up versions. For hard-boiled eggs, the lower temp worked way better for me than some of the hotter recipes I’ve seen.

I tried 3 tricks for crispier air fryer chicken skin... and they actually worked

Full recipe in comments!

I've been trying to get consistently crispy skin on air fryer chicken thighs without drying out the meat, so I tested a few techniques I'd been reading about.

The biggest differences came from:

  • Getting the skin completely dry first
  • A light dusting of aluminum-free baking powder on the skin
  • Letting the chicken sit uncovered for 30 minutes before cooking

The skin came out way crispier than my usual method while the meat stayed really juicy.

I put together a quick video showing exactly what I did if anyone wants to see it in action.
