Sigh

Sigh

Absurd delivery photo speaks for itself. Two of these are mine and there’s a puddle where they landed. Gate entry code is in the instructions. I actually prefer when they come in and just throw it at my door instead.

My guess is they did come in and just dumped the whole apartment complex’s packages right there to make time. The nicer version of this that I’ve seen is them leaving the whole big box carrier thingy there for us to pick out our own lol.

Rough day with A line already

It’s not even 8:30am yet and the longest light rail in the world is having a really rough start. In addition to these alerts, the marquee at the station said there’s a medical emergency at the Long Beach Anaheim station and a metro ambassador told me a new incident just happened at the Compton station. The marquee now says it’s a 45 min wait each way but who knows how long it’ll actually take.

Funny how some days are so smooth you hardly pay attention to your commute on the metro and other days are almost unbelievably chaotic with the rail. I’m fortunate to have a car so I’m gonna buck up and drive to DTLA for work but a lot of folks don’t and are crowded under a hot sun at Willow street right now (also shout out to them for having the worst excuse for sun/rain protection at this station). 😃

Trains leaving ahead of schedule??

Train delays are one big thing.. I understand they’re usually the greater evil so I’m not making a comparison here.

On the other hand, I find it really frustrating when trains bunch up because one was scheduled and came/went at 7:20 and then the 7:30 scheduled train was early at 7:24 and left right away instead of holding to go on time. I always time my walk to the station to make it by 7:25 but rushed to run up when I saw it was there already today and the doors closed on me. Now the next one scheduled is 7:46 and I will be late to work.

Once or twice is easy to let go but this has happened to me a handful of times now. Again I know delays are worse to deal with but I think efficient metro schedules are contingent on being on time as scheduled so riders can plan accordingly, not as fast as possible or up to the operator’s discretion.
