Time to titrate up

I gained 1.8lbs last week. I’ve been waking up with a ravenous stomach. I’ve been eating 200-300 calories over my daily caloric intake all week…I guess that’s a sign to titrate up, isn’t it?

I did 8 weeks at 0.25 mg and 10 weeks at 0.37 mg.
I wanted to stay at 0.37 for as long as possible but it seems I’ve hit my limit. I’m so stressed about moving up to 0.5 mg and worry it will be too much — I don’t want to feel sick or have bad side effects.

I’m hoping that my tolerance is better because of how long I have been injecting 0.37 mg for.

Anyone care to talk me into doing this?
I could really use the reassurance! TIA

ETA: I’m on my 18th injection this Friday.

Bondi 9 at work

I broke my foot 5 weeks ago today (5th metatarsal fracture with grade 2 ankle sprain - so fun) and got the go ahead from my ortho specialist last week to get back into shoes, after wearing an air boot for 4.5 weeks.

I brought my Hoka Bondi 9’s with me to my appointment to get his approval, and they passed!

Today is my first day back to work (office job) and I’m wearing my Black/Black Bondi’s. It’s a bit tricky to style them but I went with wide leg floral pants to balance out the bulk of the shoe.

I have a couple other pairs in different colors but I’m not sure if they’ll be office appropos or not (Glimmering Blue / Overcast, Rose Tea / Petal Dusk and Alabaster / Birch)

Anyways, super cushy and comfy for walking around even though my foot still super hurts. So grateful for these shoes to help cushion my steps!

Any style tips for me since I’ll be living in them for the foreseeable future?

I created a NetGalley account, now what?

How do I maximize this for reading & audiobooks? I noticed a lot are to be published soon, are those ones worth requesting so close to publish date?

I downloaded the app, but I would like to read on my Kindle. Is this a possibility?

3 wks into 5th metatarsal fracture

Cleared last week to begin WBAT in the boot.
Doing a few physio exercises at home that I was shown. Non surgical healing. Pain is minimal but discomfort is still there. Swelling has come down a lot. Think I also sprained my ankle at same time I fractured my foot though. Very tender.

Trying to walk in the house but can only take a few small steps (in the boot). I can stand still on bare foot with some weight on it, but I can walk on it yet without boot.

How long was it until you could walk in normal shoes?

X-rays in a few weeks. Need to be ready to return to work by then (which will be 5 weeks to the day of injury)

I sold my Crocs collection 😭

I broke my foot (5th metatarsal fracture) 2.5 weeks ago in a pair of Crocs. Not the first time my foot slid completely sideways, the shoe rolled and my ankle spilled out of the shoe. This time though, it was serious. I’m in an air cast boot and on crutches for 6 weeks and I will never wear a pair of Crocs ever again.

It pained me to sell these, one by one. Some were brand new and never worn. I liquidated them for $10/pair and made a lot of people’s days lol. I’m glad they’ve gone to people who will enjoy them, but I felt guilty selling them and not telling them why.

Anyway, that was my Crocs collection, now it’s not!

5th metatarsal fracture - Week 3 - THE ITCH 😩

I’m in an air boot while beginning to bear weight as tolerated. The itchiness is unbearable!’ What can I do? Google says not to scratch because it can cause microscopic cuts in the skin, which can lead to infection on top of the bone. The area where I broke it, feels stretched, and puffy. It’s still swollen, especially after doing my exercises and trying to weight beat. I am elevating at night.

2 wks post fracture

I’m 2 weeks post 5th material fracture today, I’ve been non-weight bearing and using crutches, but mostly immobile and resting with elevated foot.

Today was my first ortho appointment where I had follow up x-rays (first ones were in emergency department when I injured myself) and the specialist told me I need to start weight bearing as tolerated.

I’m scared to do this. But I have a second follow up in 2 weeks time and need to make progress. I will also be back to work at that point.

I have gentle exercises like flexing my ankle and foot, stretching my toes and ankle rolls. It all hurts a lot.

I don’t know how to muster up the courage to begin weight bearing in my boot when it still hurts. But I guess I need to power through it?

Broken foot, hungry all the time, eating like crap 😞

Tagged as a rant bc idk what else it belongs to.
I broke my foot a couple weeks ago and am non-weight bearing, wearing a boot and basically immobilized except for on crutches for washroom breaks and to get up and from bed.

I’ve been off work for the past 2 weeks, so my normal daily routine has gone to shit. I’m not sleeping well. I used to be a strict bedtime and 8-9 hours of sleep no problem. But now I seem to lay awake all night and don’t fall asleep til early morning hours and sleep til noon. I’ve tried everything.

I’m hungry non stop and eating foods I wouldn’t have eaten before breaking my foot, because I was on such a good routine. I’m going way over my calories every day and it’s not all healthy food either. I’m feeling so guilty about the junk but I can’t seem to stop. I’m depressed beyond belief that my summer was taken from me (feels like it anyway), and I’m out of work and stressed about paying the bills. I’ve read that healing requires more calories but this feels counter intuitive to taking Ozempic. I haven’t missed an injection yet.

To add to that, I haven’t been able to weigh myself in two weeks because I can’t balance on the scale on one leg. So I have no idea if I’m maintaining or gaining.

Possible surgery

I broke my foot last week. I don’t see the ortho specialist til next week. Today is my injection day.

I know that you need to be off GLP-1’s for at least a couple of weeks prior to having surgery.

Should I skip today’s dose in case I do require surgery? I’m on 0.37mg.

What would you do?

Bummed isn’t the word

But I broke my foot last week and I’m non-weight bearing in an air-boot + on crutches for 4-6 weeks.

I had to skip my weigh in on Sunday because I can’t balance on the scale. First weigh in I’ve missed since starting in April!

I can’t do anything physical obviously, so no walking. Not really eating less because I’m so depressed. Just maintaining my same caloric deficit as it were before breaking my foot.

I see ortho next week to determine my healing timeline and if I require surgery or not. It’s the height of summer and I can’t do anything but sit in the couch.

Has anyone else experienced a period of inactivity due to injury or anything? Did you just stop focusing on weight loss or just keep going with it and have no expectations?

No X-Rays / Acute mildly comminuted fracture at the base of the left 5th metatarsal.

I don’t have access to the x-rays but this is the report.

I injured my foot and fractured it one week ago today, by rolling my foot outward when it slipped off and out of my Crocs sandal.

For those who have had this fracture or similar, what was healing and recovery timeline like?

I’ve been in an air boot and on crutches since last week. Told it may be 4-6 week. My ortho appt isn’t until next week (2 weeks after injury) and not knowing what I’m facing for recovery - or if I’ll need surgery - is doing a number on my mental health.

I’m wearing the boot anytime I’m up, and at night sleeping. I am elevating during the day and have taken all of last week plus this week off of work. I’m unpaid so that’s adding to my stress as well, not knowing how much longer I may need to be off work (wfh is not an option, it’s not easy for me to get to work).

Any advice? Thanks!

No Crocs Club - what are we wearing for indoor shoes?

As title asks, what’s your choice for stable footwear indoors? I was wondering about a pair of EVA Birkenstock Arizona sandals

Broke my foot

I had a molar extracted Monday morning, then an hour later rolled my ankle in a pair of Crocs and broke my foot. I took my ring off later that night when I came home from the ER on crutches and in an air boot.

I haven’t worn my ring all week. I’m worried the pressure from pressing down on the crutches will somehow damage the sensors or ring or something.

I feel like I’ve missed out an entire week of data and I hate it.

Has anyone else worn their ring while using crutches?

To go to work or not to go to work

Hey everyone,

I’m on day 5 of my fracture and NWB, in an air boot and on crutches. I’m not finding it easy to be mobile, though I have knee scooter on the way. I’m still very swollen and needing to elevate. My foot gets very sore in the boot and I need to remove it while I’m at rest every few hours to give it a break.

I have an option to stay home next and work my virtual admin job (not my main f/t admin office job) so I don’t lose total income, but it’s probably at least a couple hundred less than what I make at my main.

I will have to drive myself to work, once there, the desk setup is not as such where it will be easy to elevate, and I’ll need to sit at my desk for 8.5 hours. My office washroom is not accessible at all. Add a trek back and forth through a parking lot twice a day and navigate stairs to my house twice. Plus in and out of my van without assistance.

I’m wondering if it’s worth it to stay home, where I can still work and elevate easily, not have to push myself; but make a bit less money.

What did you all do for your second week of your break? Did you make it into work or wish you had stayed home? This decision is weighing heavily on me and I need to decide by tomorrow.
