First Time Reading + Deluxe Edition!

I’ve heard so much about this book on social media, I thought I’ll finally cave in and see what the hype is about! I’m also just off the hierarchy series (just finished the strength of the few) so I think this is good timing, as I’ve heard it’s somewhat similar style or basis.

I saw there’s a deluxe edition and I’m not a collector for books; I don’t have any other special edition books but this looked very nice, I had to.

Excited to see what comes out of this!

Was Shocked

I’m currently reading the strength of the few for the first time. I was quite shocked and I gasped out loud when I saw these two symbols together. usually they represent what world I’m reading, but seeing these two symbols together means something about to change really dramatically! quite shocking!

Town Hall

I attended the Summer Saturday event and was exploring around areas I hadn’t been before; leading me to the town hall!

I feel that these aren’t any impressive; I’m not very content with the photos as the lighting wasn’t the best (cloudy day). Thought I’d share regardless.

Clarity vs Tiffen 1/4th Black Mist Pro filter

Hey,

I’m still beginner to photography and yesterday was browsing for some new recipes.

I’ve come across summer chrome by Osan Bilgi but decided to try out his other recipes as well since they seem pretty popular and his own photos really inspired me!

However, as I was browsing his blog, I noticed he made a note about using his lack of filter and using clarity instead. I also noticed most of his recipes have it set to a higher strength, -3 or -4.

I checked my X100VI and realized that majority of my photos; I tend to lean towards recipes that have clarity not as strong, -1. I’ve always had my 1/4th tiffen black mist pro filter on.

My question I guess is, what is the difference between clarity settings and a black mist pro filter? Would one suggest that if I wanted to continue using my black mist pro filter, I change the recipes to all have -1 clarity? So that I can maintain the effects of my black mist pro filter whilst using the recipes I love and have their clarity effect?

If I’m misunderstanding something or unaware of something in regards to these terms, please let me know! I’d like to learn.

New to the Ricoh GR IV. Here’s some portrait shots.

Just got a GR IV last week. These are all JPEGs but edited slightly in LR on top of the recipe I made in camera. I primarily shoot film and wanted to keep my bag light with just my m6 so this has been on my radar as a secondary camera for digitals when I don’t want to always be popping off rolls. My last digital was a Leica m-10r and I’ve been fighting the urge to get another digital one because it would take away from my film photography(not to mention the price.) I didn’t get the GR to shoot portraits but have always felt very comfortable with this focal length for just about anything. While I don’t think this would replace any shots from my 50mm or 35 on another camera, I think the GR IV is perfectly capable of shooting portraits if you like the wider look and have a person that doesn’t mind the distortion of a 28.

I wanted to share because I don’t see too many portraits shoots here for obvious reasons but for anyone looking wanted to assure that it is perfectly capable. I have other shots in different lighting from this day but these ones are probably my favorite because they came out so clean. After shooting film for so long, a digital camera like this feels like practically cheating to me because it’s so powerful for its size. I love that people don’t even bat an eye when I pull this thing out. Such a great camera that I’m loving so far! I definitely don’t have an itch to buy another digital Leica now and if anything this already has more features and better image quality than something like an m240! Perfectly suits my personal needs and shooting style. Absolutely in love.

Some More Angles of My S5

I posted my 2025 Audi S5 Technik some days ago and got quite mixed reactions... thought I'd post more photographs with better lighting and more angles.

Not sure if any of these are any good. I’m still new to photography and learning. Took my camera to downtown for the first time today and wanted to capture the views!

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I would like to learn.

Switched between Summer Chrome and Urban Negative. Used 1/4th tiffen black mist filter.
