Are there any contemporary politicians who could have done as well as FDR and Lincoln during there crises?
Based on a discussion im having
Are there any politicians during the ww2 era who could have replaced Roosevelt and accomplished what he accomplished? how about the civil war era for Lincoln?
I think Long could have done well for ww2
for the civil war ...maybe Winfield Scott if you stretch the definition of politlcan but I dont know if he could have maneuvered the 13th .Seward strikes me as too arrogant to unite the north.
Prince William will sell a fifth of duchy to build homes and help nature

''A statement on the Kiingitanga social media said the two "discussed a range of global topics".
"Te Arikinui affirmed her belief in the power of indigenous knowledge and intergenerational stewardship to help solve the world’s environmental and social challenges."
Who do you think will fight Doom in the finale ?
In Doomsday and Secret wars.
I mean obviously everyone but who do you think will get to face him head on? as much as I would love a 20v1 I doubt it would happen
In Secret wars I see a repeat of Iron man Cap and Thors fight against thanos
My guess is Wolverine Maguire Spider man and RDJ Iron man
If rumors are correct Thor will fight him in doomsday so maybe replace one of the above with him . Reed probably SHOULD be there too . As for Doomsday maybe Sam Cyclops and Reed fight him with or seperate from Thor?
Maybe Secret Wars ends in a 5v1 or to represent every part of the MCU
Carol Strange Tony Reed Logan Thor
IDK what do you think ?

Fun fact I posted without reading so I dont know who it is
''Sir David firmly rejected calls from the opposition group to use his residual constitutional powers to summon parliament as soon as possible, saying an appeal by the government was afoot.
While he acknowledged he had the power to convene parliament if the Prime Minister failed to do, he would not.
"I will exercise my powers to convene parliament at the appropriate date and time," Sir David said in a letter to the coalition.''
In Honor of her Majesty's 100th Birthday I decided to write and update this old post showing how Queen Elizabeth wasn't just a figurehead but an active force of good in the world .
The first thing is people would commonly write to her with goverment issues and she would forward this to the goverment and get things done.
This is how she helped get a Gurkha get health treatment the goverment was denying .

and helped my man Snoop Dog into the UK
of a similar note is how she helped an MP be allowed to run for his party's nomination.Said Mp would be defense minister during the Ukraine War so even non tories should be glad he got in.
Another Thing is she had weekly meeting with her British Prime Ministers and contact with the rest .She would get goverment briefings and secrets and the first draft of intelligence.

John Major noted she give good advice
''"She knows a great deal about it and her questions are often very, very pertinent. It was always extremely useful, because it was a completely external view from someone who knew politics."'

As did Justin Trudeau who said of this contact ''I made the instant decision that I could trust her entirely and talk to her about the things that were on my mind in a way that would be unbelievably helpful to me and invariably, she is: in her thoughtfulness, in her wisdom, in her perspective''

A lot of PM have said so.I am using these two as a general example .one brit one realm of different political ideologies
It is in this role that she lobbied against a helicopter system that wasn't doing well in Iraq
She also helped write the Australian Constitution .To be clear the wording regarding the powers of the states were written in deference to her wishes. She wanted more changes but the goverment told her this was all they could do. Im not arguing she was absolute...but still HELPED WRITE THE AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION

As well when New Zealand's goverment was questioning maori land rights in the south island the Queen through her GG stated that the treaty applied to the south island as well which caused a back down from the government which is after all ''Her Majesty's Government''

When there was a coup against the crown in fiji the GG worked out a deal with there Monarchy would remain if the Queen agreed to add supremacist policies to the Constitution. She decided to single handley abolish the Monarchy in Fiji rather then preserve it by racially discriminatory measures
