''The problem is that Gettysburg is kinda viewed in a vacuum based largely on result. Lee showed much skill in terms of the principles of war when it came to his operations, though admittedly less so in tactics when it came time to fight the pivotal battle.

If you compare it to the Vicksburg Campaign on the operationally level though, it hits all the same beats. Grant and Lee outflank the enemy and get behind their rear. They then manoeuvre upon the opponent's railway communications while screening their marches via a river on their flank, such as the Big Black River in the Vicksburg Campaign and the Shenandoah River in the Gettysburg Campaign.

Lee also had the advantage of mountains to screen his movements with. The aforementioned railway hubs they take to cut the enemy's supply lines are Jackson for Grant, whereas Lee took Harrisburg and Wrightsville. Then, both concentrated for battle against the opposing army at Champion Hill and Gettysburg respectively.

The difference, of course, is that Meade outnumbered Lee, whereas Pemberton was outnumbered by Grant and had further blundered by dividing his forces on a cordon, such that a portion was left on the west bank of the Big Black River and thus unengaged at Champion Hill. That, and Loring kinda abandoned the battlefield to slip around the Federals and join Johnston in the east.

Even tactically, they're bar for bar the same too, only inversed in terms where the armies are facing. The Union right under McPherson hits the Confederate left under Stevenson anchored on Champion Hill, much like how the Confederate left under Ewell assailed Culp's Hill and Cemetery Ridge, manned by Slocum and Howard.

This is followed by a division each from McClernand and Sherman (J. Smith and Blair) on the Union left hitting Loring on the Confederate right, which resembles how Longstreet on the Confederate right hit Sickles on the Union left. Finally, you have the center attack with McClernand against Bowen around Robert's House, while Pickett's Charge ascends Cemetery Ridge to attack Hancock.

One has to wonder, is the difference between Gettysburg and Vicksburg a skill issue between Lee and Grant, especially if they're basically demonstrating the same manner of abilities by playing the exact same cards? Or is it a difference in resources and quality of opposition?

Would Vicksburg have been a disaster like Gettysburg if Grant was the outnumbered party and fought someone like Meade instead of Pemberton? Would Gettysburg be considered Lee's masterpiece if he possessed numerical superiority and been opposed to an incompetent general like Pemberton instead of someone able like Meade?

One can perhaps say that it is precisely because Lee's situation differed in being more difficult that he should have adapted by doing something else, and while that argument certainly has merit, it does not necessarily diminish his abilities as lesser, for no one else in our Civil War had demonstrated their ability to triumph in like circumstances so as to say that they were his superior.

The Vicksburg Campaign showed that the ability of Lee and Grant were equal, but not their circumstances. Thus, one cannot merely come to conclusions simply based on who won or lost, but in examining the principles of war, must weigh fairly the abilities of the individual generals. Vicksburg is deemed a skillful campaign and Grant's masterpiece, why then is Gettysburg not a show of equally skillful work which simply wasn't enough to meet the task at hand?''

so you might remember one of the leaked ''Kang Dynasty '' scripts. The ending was Kang basically struggling against the beyonder .During this he would be overwhelmed .We would see a series of flashbacks of His life and he would get the strength to stand up and take the power.Basically it would be a hero's journey moment played completely straight. [beside him throwing the avengers into prison and taking over the world but nobody's perfect].

my theory is Doom will do something similar.The final battle will take place cocurrent to the final incursion. There will be a moment where the fight turns into everyone scrambling to get the mcguffin . Doom will reach whatever it is but this places him right in the worst place. His body will burn and he will show pain for the first time in the movie.He screams in agony .then a quiet moment.Remember the poster of Him looking at a woman and child?

Well at the end of the Kang Dynasty script the ending is Kang reuniting with his wife. He reassures that he's back ''For all Time''

My guess is this plot was transfered/adjusted to Doom. He will see his family get up withstand the power of the incursion and save the day.After creating battleworld he WON'T sit on the throne.Instead the last scene will be Victor reuniting his family.The camera will zoom in and for the first time in the movie he smiles.

This will also add some dept to secret wars. Since Victor isn't just fighting for his rule but for his wife and kid.

Maybe at the end instead of fixing his face Reed brings back his family ?or Doom CANT bring them hack and that's his character arc .

Many people seem to say that domestic abuse was ok in the 50s[that decade specifically comes up] but it was ilegal everywhere 30 years before and in some places forever [The pilgrims banned it]

So im curious how the laws/culture around it were determined

I dont want to join Im just curious. It seems to me like with the ukraine war most western armies are uprising and from what ive heard most people from the west aren't desperate enough to go through all the bullshit or have a good enough reason to pass the interview
