Here’s a review no one asked for. Last night we went to All Blacks game at One NZ stadium. The stadium bowl is superb, the seating area is well set out and spacious seats, good views from anywhere. However the concourse areas are utter fucking horse shit.

I can only assume that the Architects are complete dicks and designed it to be shitty deliberately as there’s no way architects and established stadium developers could not have foreseen the crowd flow issues caused by how they’ve set up the concession stands.
Around by sections 324/325/326 it felt dangerously crowded with people moving around the stadium, trying to get to those sections and also queuing at the beer stands, along with the stairs from the lower level feeding directly into the already crowded areas.

I walked passed a Wagamamas restaurant at the shopping village (in the UK) and they’re giving out Gyozas to try. 2 teens on the stand “any allergies?” Me “Only cats, LOL”. The lad thinks for a second and looks at me with a straight face and says “Eer, don’t think there’s any cat in it”

I didn’t even try to explain, but it definitely made me feel old!

We’re due to arrive in Tokyo on Friday for a short stay. I’ve seen the potential dual typhoon/tropical storms that are potentially forecast to hit on Saturday and Sunday. What’s the general advice here?

Hello all. Me and my family are due to be in Tokyo next week, and I see there are 2 games on the 28th- Swallows vs Dragons and Lions vs Ham Fighters. Which of these games would be recommended for best experience?

The current weather forecast looks ok, only low % chance of rain, not too hot, so I’m thinking Swallows, but they’re playing the worst team in the league, but I also see that the Lions are having a good season so far, but due to the cover, the game is less likely to be rain affected.

We’re staying in Tsukiji, so I guess travel time also needs to be accounted for

Ive got a Phillips Aquarea system for underfloor heating cooling. When I switched to cooling, the indicated temp stayed low so it wasn’t cooling. I turned it off and on and it started working. I noticed today it did the same thing. Reset again and it’s working again but indicating nearly 60deg C.

I don’t know why, but this year I’m finding the ads for non-official World Cup sponsors mildly amusing, in terms of how they’re clearly targeting the World Cup but aren’t allowed to mention it. One radio ad starts “the tournament is here, make sure you’ve got your snacks”

The TV ads as well that use people wearing cloths with absolutely no manufacturer label or sponsor or club details.
And also, the word Football is mostly not even mentioned either.
Not sure why this year particularly it’s made me laugh, it’s not a new thing!

I was very excited to see Poutine on the menu at work (France) imagine my disappointment when I saw this is what they served up. Nothing about it is poutine; the potatoes are boiled not fried, there’s no gravy (just a watered down stock), and there are no cheese curds, just a crappy cheese sauce.
