There’s a question I’ve been thinking about for quite a long time regarding a wedding tradition.
Why do the bride’s family wash the groom’s feet during the wedding? Parents who gave birth to a daughter, raised her, made countless sacrifices for her, and loved and cared for her all these years… why do they, on her wedding day, sit at the groom’s feet and wash them with water?
What does it mean for an elder to wash the feet of a young man? Does the bride not have respect for her own parents? Never seen them questioning this tradition. Ive never seen anyone question this tradition. In fact, no one even seems to talk about it.
