Reddit's new keyword moderation AI bots are...
Ridiculous.
Yep, you read that right, bots. RIDICULOUS.
I have never had any major issues making posts and comments on Reddit, but just had to cut the word RIDICULOUS out of a comment in another sub in order to post it. It was flagged as 'insensitive' before I was even done writing the comment. The context? The OP asked if some of her outfits looked ridiculous. I responded by saying, 'They do not look ridiculous,' and added something about her having a quirky style. Weeeeeeellllllll, apparently using the word 'ridiculous' in response to a post asking if something looked RIDICULOUS meant I was being mean and inconsiderate.
Except that I was not. I removed the offending word (a word that, again, was in the post title), and it allowed me to post a response. Essentially the same response with the same core message and tone, but lacking one terrible, awful, offensive word that surely would have broken OP's poor delicate heart. /s
So. I guess context does not matter. At all.
Good job, reddit. Way to go. Cut humans out of human interaction. That'll certainly go well for you.
