Partner and I are planning the following road trip for mid-August. We'll be there for about two weeks (14 days). The length of time we plan to spend in each location is still up in the air. Part of the time we'll be sleeping in a campervan, part of it will be in hotels and airbnbs.
We are longing to see some big desert landscapes and are debating tacking Kangaroo island on at the end of the trip, though that will depend on our timeframe/energy. As it is, we've got about 2k km worth of driving ahead of us.
Adelaide: 2 days (including day we fly in)
Flinders Range: 3-4 days
Maree & Coward Springs: 2-3 days
Coober Pedy: 1-2 days
Woomera: 1 day
Adelaide: 1 day
(tentative) Kangaroo island: 1-2 days
Adelaide: Day we fly out
So, thoughts? Suggestions? Is it worth it to cut things short up north to try and get down to kangaroo island, or would it be better to take our time and just take in the desert?
