Might be dumb, but how do you hang lights on your patio?

Hello! I have been gifted some very pretty string lights, but I'm not sure how to hang them. I can't technically hang anything on my patio railing, so I was thinking of attaching them to the ceiling of the patio? I've never hung lights before, but I do have a stepladder that lets me reach, ductape, a staple gun, a hammer and nails, and a small drill. I've also seen command strips for outside, but those have mixed reviews. Please help a girl out!

Ok yall, here's the final set!!

I was (and still am..a little bit🤭) SO UPSET when my nail chipped yesterday, but I slapped some topcoat on this morning and LOOK!!!! I think next time I'll try and do the same color family and see how that does. I did find that using q tips left some fuzz on the nails, so next time I might try a cleanup brush to reveal the layers. It was fun to do but MAN does it take a while for all these layers!!! It is fun seeing all the colors get revealed and the texture is kinda cool too. I currently have 8 layers of polish on, but it was totally worth it.

Messy messy messy

Spooky dragged her cat grass half across the patio. Now I gotta sweep! She also has a habit of taking a bite of food, scooching back, CHOMPING, and leaving crumbs on the floor. Messy lil booger

Fridge pickled cherries, or shelf stable?

Hi all! Newbie here. I found a recipe for vanilla pickled cherries (linked) and it looks really yummy! I noticed at the last bit of instruction, it says *Fill the jars with the pickling liquid. Let them cool to room temperature, then seal tightly with a lid and refrigerate overnight.

Pickled cherries will last in the sealed jar for up to a month, or can be canned via traditional canning methods for up to a year.* I guess I'm asking if these are just a fridge pickle, and what the author means by "traditional canning methods".Would this mean a water bath process? I'm perfectly happy with these being a fridge thing! At the same time I'd like to eat cherries in December lol. Thanks!

Polka dots for pride!

Finally got around to redoing my nails! Woohoo! Also my first real attempt at nail art

I have moved back into a low buy, and I'm doing ok so far! A multipack of colors, some new base coat and some thinner have all been added to my nail drawer, so hopefully I won't get thw shopping itch soon lol. I honestly wasn't expecting this white to be as opaque as it is, she could be a one coat queen frfr.

On the nails:

Nail Magic Hardener and Conditioner - one coat

PLA Blushin' Baby - 2 coats

Morovan "Vibrant Rainbow" collection - various dots/ 2 coats for each stripe on the ring finger

Seche Vive Instant Gel Effect Topcoat - 2 coats

I like wasps, but I'm not sure if my patio is the best place for their nest.

Hello! This seems like the right place to ask for help :) I have noticed over the last few years at my current place that yellowjackets come back to the same corner of my patio every year and start a nest. I don't blame them, it's prime real estate! Good airflow, out of the rain, it's nice. And these dudes/dudettes(?) work *fast*. The problem is that my cat likes to go outside(supervised), and is not afraid of the spicy sky raisins. This does not end well for anyone involved. I've recently taken to gently coaxing them out of the patio with a broom, not swinging wildly but kind of slowly pushing them out while they're flying, if that makes sense. I'm not sure if they're the same wasps each year, but the main thing is that I want these wasps to not get hurt by my cat or my cat to get hurt by the wasps. I get that they're important bug bros with bad pr, but I'm starting to look like the neighborhood crazy lady waving my broom around and need a different, hopefully long term solution where everyone can be happy XD

I finally got the thinner yall!

UGH!! WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS SOONER?!? Same goes for cuticle oil!! I never realized my cuticles could be so healthy lmaooo

I mean, I was on a no buy (ya boi was BROKE fr) so thats why I didn't, but STILL. Anyway, I'm wearing that really bright orange again, with a darker green and some pink/holo glitter (I'm a total sucker for anything shiny) but I feel like this would be better for fall? It's still super pretty though, and I don't feel like I have THICCC layers of polish on my nail now that they're a reasonable consistency. I'll def be doing the rest of my collection so I can get back to using some old faves. I am eyeballing some new bottles though, to maybe do a rainbow skittle for pride 👀

A better borger

last night's burger was SAD. This one tasted significantly better. Seasoning worked into the beef, thinner patty before cooking, higher heat. From the bottom up : bun, mayo, tomato, lettuce, burger, cheddar, burger, cooked onion, mustard, ketchup, bun. Garlic fries on the side (spicy ketchup not pictured) .

I'm trying to just keep cooking with my 8in dumpster lodge and it's going well so far. Maybe I'll put an egg on it next time

I just want to be able to function, man

I'm not really sure how to articulate what exactly I want, but the TL;DR is that I want to be able to walk for more than ten minutes again, without pain.

I'm young, and still in my 20s. I used to have a job where I was walking 10+ flights of stairs a day, on my feet for about eight hours a day. I used to be able to take down dudes twice my size after working in corrections(no longer in that field). Hell, I used to be able to carry two full five gallon buckets without getting winded when I was doing restaurant work.

Now? I have a desk job. I am on my feet maybe thirty minutes a day MAX, and that is incredibly rare. Most days the most walking I get in is going back and forth to the bathroom at work. My hips hurt constantly. I have to pop one of them back into place in the morning. I have pain in the top of my tailbone/buttcheek off and on. The front of my pelvis hurts if I stand too long without leaning on something. I'm angry about the fact that taking a 20min walk leaves me taking Tylenol and sore the next day. What the fuck man?? What happened?? More importantly, how do I get myself back?

I don't know where to start when walking hurts. Maybe core? Legs? I don't know. What I do know is that I am so tired of having to make sure places I go have places to sit. I'm tired of cutting errands and hang outs with friends early because I'm exhausted/hurting. I want my life and my body back. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

If you buy a house in an HOA, can you just...leave the HOA?

I've lived in apartments my whole adult life (so far.) I've been thinking about the possibility of buying a house (a pipe dream, really) but I keep seeing properties in HOAs. Would I *have* to be part of the HOA? Or could I buy the house and then leave the HOA? I'd really like to avoid it if I can, I've read too many bad things about them. Is there anything good about them? Ts just don't make sense lol.

Ugh ok I genuinely think I'm in love with this color. I keep finding myself looking at my nails and the shimmer is this greenish/pink that looks more pink than green on this color (normally it looks greenish/goldish when I have other colors on). Maybe I'll keep this look a little longer than I normally do bc why not. Also, there's a matte topcoat on this, and ive never put matte over shimmer but i kind of dig it? What do yall think?

I get why mint is a classic. Makes things feel fresh and cool or whatever. Smells good too. But why only mint, watermelon, cinnamon, or bubblegum (what's in my grocery store.) Why can't we have clove mouthwash? Or blueberry? Ooooo or even a piña colada mouthwash would be cool as heck! Also on the topic of mouthwash, what the heck is hydroxyapatite??? What happened to just normal, alcohol free fluoride? It feels a little "old man yells at cloud" but what was wrong with just fluoride? Either way, mouthwash makers need to start getting creative lol
