I started keeping a botanical sketchbook around May and have been trying to fill it up! These are all watercolor and gouache, and I experimented with a lot of different techniques from direct painting to ballpoint underdrawings, and of course the medieval style radishes 😂.
I've been feeding my frogs crickets the entire time I've had them but recently switched over to dubias.
I do believe that hunting crickets is better enrichment for the frogs (I put all the dubias in a bowl), but dubias are so much easier to care for, quieter, and cleaner to keep.
I read that a frog's main source of enrichment in captivity is hunting... is it really a detriment to feed them dubias instead of crickets? It's time to reorder bugs and I can't decide what I want to do.

The short version is that I tried to use an unmanned laundromat and there was an issue with their app, so it ate up a not insignificant amount of money (you could only load your account in set quantities so I spent much more than I actually needed) and the machines never turned on. Took several phone calls for me to get in touch with a human being, and they basically refused to refund me until I left a negative review detailing the situation.
They have low-key been harassing me, texting and calling me throughout the day asking for the review to be taken down (they said either take the review down or leave us 5 stars). Now they're saying if I go to the store tomorrow, it will be manned and if I explain the situation to the employee they will supposedly refund me. I have this in writing.
I don't want to go back, the whole experience has been terrible but I've never issued a chargeback or anything like this before and have been banking with BoA for over a decade. And I don't know what kind of proof I can provide for a lack of services rendered. How do I know if I have decent grounds for a chargeback being successful?
Should I just count on the chargeback working in a few days, or go back to the store and take it up with the employees? This really isn't how I want to be spending my vacation.

Hi, these pics are of my hair with no product or styling, just some oil scrunched in when my hair is still damp.
I find that my curls/waves don't really hold together and I get crazy frizz. My hair also feels coarse to the touch.
Current routine: I wash my hair daily and need to since I sweat and have days where I do construction type tasks
- head and shoulders dandruff shampoo 3x a week (I know it's drying but I can't remove this unfortunately. I have seb derm)
- verb volume conditioner (I co wash with this on days I don't use the dandruff shampoo)
- it's a 10 miracle leave-in plus keratin, I use like 4 pumps of this after rinsing out the verb conditioner thoroughly (this is what's recommended for the verb conditioner)
- &honey ex deep moist hair oil (I apply 1 pump of this after the leave in conditioner soaks in)
I use all of these products except for the dandruff shampoo daily. The honey hair oil has helped the most, it softens my hair and my curls form a little, but I still have a lot of frizz. I think I may need something like a curl cream? But I worry about weighing down my fine hair. I also don't know what will irritate my scalp or not (seb derm).
I do not comb my hair when dry, only when using conditioner in the shower. And I typically scrunch in my products and scrunch dry my hair with a t shirt and let it air dry to finish.
I've tried the not your mother's curl talk mousse and scrunch it out with the &honey oil, which really defines and holds the curls and helps the frizz a bit but dries my hair out. A few years ago my hair loved the briogeo don't despair repair hair mask, but I recently tried it again and it made my hair feel really tacky and dry.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

Hi! I make jewelry with 20g to 16g stainless steel and I want to sell it in the near future. However, is welding standard practice for professional jewelry? My designs mix different ring gauges and feature lots of micro chainmail, with rings frequently under 3mm ID. Any advice on how to approach welding would be appreciated!
Hi, I'm currently training for iron cross and I have my rings hanging from a doorway pull-up bar. However, my pullup bar doesn't extend outwards quite far enough so whenever I practice the iron cross, I have to adjust my angle (arms pointing further towards my back) so that the rings don't bump into the doorway or wall.
Any recommendations for how to set things up to do an iron cross comfortably? I'm not opposed to getting a full stand, just don't know which ones would be wide enough for iron cross.

Hi! I make chainmail jewelry and need to use a rotary tumbler for some stainless steel rings that came with kerf smears. I'm hoping to find somewhere locally where I can tumble them instead of having to buy new rings, but if the cost is $30 or more it would be cheaper to just eat the cost and buy new rings. I looked into an Artisan's Asylum day pass which is $40 unfortunately. Does anyone know of other places that have a rotary tumbler?

Just got some rings in, most of them are fine but about 75% of the 20swg rings I got have excess metal at the cuts. Is this normal? Any advice on how to work with this? Not sure if I should reach out to the company.
1 hour and 20 minutes, using Holbein Artist's Gouache. Roughly 7x10in.
Every time I try to push the ends towards each other (while twisting) my ring shifts in my pliers, pivoting at the point where it's being held in the plier. I am pressing down hard enough to (unintentionally) flatten the ring but the ring is still wiggling and shifting as I try to push. These are 16swg titanium. Please help!
So I really thought I found the perfect shirt (I've bought 6 in the last year alone) but it seems like they've changed the cut.
Went to replace some of my shirts that got destroyed from work. Exact same size, item name and purchased from the same store. Tried one on this morning and the fit is completely different despite the shirt being the same make and size. Bunching at the armpits, sleeves are longer and most noticeably the shirt is a whole 2 inches longer! It went from a fitted look to baggy. Unfortunately I already snipped the tag because I thought I knew what I was getting, so I can't return it.
Did anyone else notice this change?
Hi! 32m visiting from Boston til Monday 6/29. I used to live in the city and I'm back getting tattoos and catching up with friends. I'm looking for someone (or multiple ppl?) to hangout with during the day since my friends unfortunately have jobs (jk).

Became really fascinated by chainmail jewelry and gave it a go with some jump rings I had lying around. Unfortunately idk their size.
I started with the Byzantine bracelet but found that it was very loose, so I increased the number of rings in each unit (sorry if I'm not using the right terms). I didn't follow a pattern for either (beyond the basic Byzantine and euro 4-1 units) and just messed around and tried to make something that fits.
Kinda addicted now and excited to get some kits next :) ⛓️
I bought this ink to use with watercolor, supposedly it's a "highly waterproof" nano-pigment ink. I'm using it in a brand new Sailor De Mannen, it's never been inked before this.
All of my tests bled once I did a light pass of water over them. The note paper one was after 40mins of dry time.
Am I just not letting it sit long enough? I feel like 40 mins is more than enough on some very lightweight notepaper.

My old style of singing used to be breathy and bright but I can't hit those notes anymore, and I find that singing out of my chest projects much more but I think it ends up sounding kind of mushy and like my nose is blocked. Idk how much of this is me having to adjust to the new sound of my voice or improper technique. Also I think I am a baritone now? Or a tenor? Sekou and Giveon (two artists I admire) are both considered baritone and much deeper sounding than me so I'm not sure. Constructive criticism very much appreciated!
