Mint was giving out 4th privy quarters at the gift shop
How many these were actually minted vs. released??

How many these were actually minted vs. released??
One of my last two leftovers from last December
Whenever I see people with whole boxes of new coins, they are almost always the top type. The bottom type are all I can get from my banks and they seem to be mostly 95+% recirculated coins. Are these from different providers who do business differently? I want new coins, how can I locate the top type
I found both these horses participating in bodily functions in the same box of quarters
Pulled these guys from a quarter box
I've done it again: found two W bats in a box of quarters. This brings my W count up to 5 and they are still all bats.
Also found a Nevada "pooping horse" die chip
I found a bunch of these quarters in a box from the bank. Some have a chip between Washington and TRUST (at least two die states), and some have a chip in the tricorn hat (at least three die states)
I've noticed that Denver coins are often shinier than Philadelphia coins, across most denominations (quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies). I realized I can usually tell when a newer coin is from Denver just from the finish, without even seeing the mint mark. Do they have an overzealous die prep routine over there or what? 😅
I'm going through a box of quarters and I've found 38 of this die chip so far
In an effort to hunt for the new 4th privy, I visited 5 branches across my 2 banks today and showed them pictures of the new quarter design. Only one had those Loomis boxes with the holes in the top where you can see what you're getting, and none of those contained the Declaration of Independence design.
So I ended up buying one random box of quarters at the last branch just so I'd have something to hunt. Incidentally it is the first 2026 coin I've gotten from the bank, hopefully the Declaration quarters are not far behind
Thank you! Smooth transaction
A fairly successful hunt! This was from $150 in bank wrapped rolls I think
I found this while hunting coin rolls and at first I only noticed the last O in Monticello looked strange. When I checked it under the microscope I also noticed there was a die chip in the left side arch as well, and a (possible) very small chip on the dome.
Nickel box results. Nothing crazy, but I was excited to find the buffalo and the '38 (which is now the lowest mintage nickel I've found). Still have yet to search a box without filling at least one hole in the album!
Just kidding. I took some already searched loose and rolled coins to my new dump bank and they said they wouldn't take the rolls as-is, I'd still need to use the sorting machine. So I sat in the lobby and unwrapped everything

But it did make me think, how funny would it be to withdraw a box and hunt the rolls right there in the lobby lol
Just wondering if anyone has attempted to document modern counterstamp projects (most of which seem to be for art/whimsy, compared to the practical or advertising purposes of yore).
I'm thinking of ones like The Quartermaster, ABD <3 SLS, R. THIES, etc. (soon to include AV I'm sure)
There were 492 nickels that were 2024-P, about 6 that were other random dates, and the remaining 1500ish were 2025-P.
I inspected all the 2024's and unfortunately most were pretty dinged up. These two are the best ones I found. No MS70's 😅
I'm debating whether to inspect all the 2025's. That's a lot of coins
