Screen has black flashes while playing media, and the solution is a very weird one. 🤔

This is the 2nd laptop with which I have found graphics card issue without an apparent solution. I tried formatting, I tried different drives, different drivers, different combinations of drivers, disabling services, disabling tasks. The whole deal.

What's the solution? Flipping the laptop charger upside down and touching the cables around to remove electromagnetic interference. I have to do that about twice a day.

The house is not the issue, per se, because it happens in another country as well.

Should I wrap all cables in electromagnetic protective tape? Should I install ferrite cores on all cables associated with the system?

Many thanks.

Is it a bad idea to use inserts and bolts on a 6-screw bridge?

I am rebuilding a strat. I never liked the fact that the bridge screws go straight into the wood. They are rarely 100% perpendicular, the screws tend to be chewed up, even when we used the perfect bit to turn them. As the wood cycles with temperature and humidity, the wood screws are never as precise as one would like. So, I am thinking of using inserts and socket head bolts (for more precise adjustment, and so that they last forever, and they could look better). I think that the reason why Fender did not go for inserts on 6-screw bridges was simply due to cost, but I could be wrong.

I would love your input as to potential problems.

Many thanks.

Is it safe to use a touch pen to draw on the screen of a Lenovo Y70-70?

I have an old Lenovo Y70-70 that I want to use for some graphic design purposes.

Since it has a touch screen, it should be able to deal with a touch pen.

However, I am afraid that repeated use might damage/scratch the screen.

Am I overreacting, or should it be ok?

Any tips on how to avoid damage?

Many thanks in advance.

How to root Android while keeping the OS as it otherwise was before?

I would like to root my S10 to give it a bit more life by enjoying and learning more about root privileges through it.

Is there a way to root the phone while keeping the OS exactly as it was? Or do I have to reinstall a new OS and config the phone again (ackeen to formating a desktop)?

Many thanks in advance.

Have we yet found a way to bypass screenshot blocking in apps?

I need to take a screenshot (for completely and absolutely legal and ethical reasons) on an app that does not allow it.

I tried Screen Recorder but the app just sends a black screen to the recorder.

Is there a way to bypass this? Especially without root?

Many thanks.

What is the model name of this strat or strat-like guitar?

This morning, I saw a post of a strat-like guitar which only had 2 single, stacked, angled pickups at the bridge.

It looked like the one in this image. I edited the image to try to make it look more similar to the one that I saw.

If someone has played one, how does it sound?

Many thanks.

Can anyone, please, recommend an affordable but reliable USB multimeter (to measure powerbanks' capacity)? Many thanks.

I bought powbanks from a little known company. They seem robust and are fairly heavy, but they could just have a few blocks of lead instead of a couple of cells for all I know. They state 6000mA/h, but it seems optimistic by at least 15%.

I will also need it to measure other stuff on future projects, so I'd rather pay once and cry once, if reliable and not too much above regular prices.

Some already come with 4 connectors arranged in a cross configuration with the screen in the center. I like those to avoid carrying (and forgetting to carry) adapter cables. But I just never owned or even seen a USB multimeter before.

Many thanks.

Let's test!

From left to right: Super Afghan, L'Olive, and "Piatella" (or so they say).

Super Afghan is slightly sticky, medium-soft in consistency, handles easily, citrus odor.

L'Olive is as hard as a rock. I had to use some heat to release any odors and... massive surprise! It smells like the real thing! CBD hash really tends not to.

Now, the controversial "Piatella". It has the consistency of a store-bought chocolate brownie, sticky, very easy to handle, fresh citrus odor with some very warm undertones.

I am testing it as I write this. It's relatively smooth. The taste loses most of the citruness, but it gains a tiny bit of sweetness with rich, warm, slightly woody tones. CBD content is fairly high.

Is it true Piatella, though? Hmmm meh. It's not a million miles away. It's in the right direction.

What causes prediction markets' positions to close on clearly false.

I bet there would be no permanent peace-deal on Iran, and I lost. The war is still going on, unfortunately. But clearly there was no permanent peace deal by June 15th OR by June 30th.

Many thanks.

Latch/handle for the outside of bacony door?

A few times a day, I go for a smoke in my balcony. However, especially when it's windy, the pressure gradient is always forcing the door open.

I placed a double-sided tape temporary handle (the gray metalic thing) to better close the door, but the door still keeps opening.

So, I would like an elegant, permanent solution, or a simple temporary to be able to lock the door from the outside. The reason why it has to be elegant or temporary is that I will sell the place in less than 5 years, so, it should look like a neat or a removable solution.

Many thanks.

Does anyone have experience with CSA-14?

It seems to be a molucle from Europe, syntatyzed from CBD itself. It hasn't been researched yet in a professional setting.

CSA means "cannabinoid short action". It's not that short action, in my opinion. THC and THCp are noticeably quicker.

From my experience, it's potency is as strong as 20-25% of its mass in THC. Similar to OHH. If you are not shy with using plenty of CSA, the effects show several similarities to THC and THCp, both in potency and duration.

The effects are of a short-medium duration (about 2-4 hours, but additional doses do bring the old dosages back to a good extent.

Let's just hope it doesn't get banned, if safe.

Can someone, please, explain to me how can I drill the holes for these 2 screws at 90 degrees to the guitar body (just like in the picture) in such a small place to work with? Which tools will I need?

Another round of testing!

Let's start with the bad because Purple Kush's taste is very far from good. It has a warm, deep, but "nauseating smell". Like that hint of vomit when someone a few rows away vomits in an aircraft or in a train. Not recommended.

Super Lemon Haze is the total opposite. It has a very fresh, green, high note, citrus flavor. Very good in the morning. However, it burns in a strange way. When you roll it, the ash flakes off onto your fingers rather than leaving a "solid" piece of hash behind on the joint. Very weird.

Tangie is definitely my favorite of all of these. It has a warm, slightly sweet (like some type of candy or chewing gum), slightly fruity (like the pleasant smell of a slightly overripe mango), rich flavor, with a fairly wide range of low notes. Great for the late afternoon as the sun is starting to say goodbye.

Static is fairly strong. Great before sleep. I avoid it during daytime. The flavour is a deep, dark one with some very small hints of real hash. Not particularly interesting in that regard.

3x Filtered is nothing to write home about. It's a little stronger, of course, but it lost most of its character to achieve it. Nevertheless, a great choice before sleep.

Piatella is really good. Perhaps, my favorite of these hash products. But the best way to smoke it, in my opinion, is to do a "toothpick" (I don't know what it is called in other countries). It's resinous and very malleable. It has a very pleasant flavor, but nothing that jumps out. It has a lot of great flavors but they are not very noticeable. To notice them one has to do a much thicker "toothpick". However, the thicker "toothpicks" may start to block a joint. Yesterday, one became blocked about 30% before being finished. It leaves a lot of oil behind.

Aya has a flavor more similar to real hash than any of the others. It has a warm flavor in the foreground but a sharp, typical Moroccan flavor in the background. Some of that sharpness comes from a very slight citruness, but it is there. Relatively strong, and easy to smoke. Very enjoyable late at night.

Charras, imported from the U.S. (thank you very much, American ladies and gentlemen👍). It has a nice, smooth taste. There are some earthy notes, but in a pleasant way. I smoke it mainly in the early to mid-afternoon, though it will land well in the late morning and early evening.

Finally, Pollen. This pollen has a fairly rich but not very potent flavor. Not too warm, not at all bright or citrus. It's just pollen. Not much to it. I only use it to mix with buds, but one needs to use a ton of pollen just to know it is there. It's just better to put it aside for "emergencies" when everything else has been cleaned up and there's nothing else to smoke.

Who was the Sopranos' "real" underboss in the series?

In theory, Junior was the boss, Tony the underboss, Silvio the consigliere. However, in practice, Tony was the boss, Silvio his "consigliere of many years", as Sil himself put it in one episode, but the underboss role becomes muddy.

Junior could be seen as the underboss, but he was more of a consigliere than anything else.

Big Puss being the underboss just doesn't land right on multiple episodes.

In regards to Paulie, when Paulie was already a captain, Tony told him that he was going "to move [Paulie] up". Up to what?! The only role available was underboss. It would also make sense for Johnny Sack to groom Paulie, the supposed underboss, when Sack was trying to create division within the Soprano family.

What do you think?

It never ceases to amaze me how just a couple of plant species can create such a variety of smell, taste, color, texture, and of course, effect.

The lighter ones in color are also the nicest in flavor/odor (at least to my taste). Beldia, Marocain and super pollen are especially soft on the throat. Very enjoyable and quite beneficial for anxiety and insomnia.

The ice-olator is the strongest but carries a less nice flavor, but still good. The red libanais is likely the worst in flavor. Very rustic taste - nothing to write home about.
