Daybreak Blue?

Anyone have a good place to see examples of different cars with Daybreak Blue in different environments?

I'm interested in a Trailseeker but struggling to find anywhere that has ANY vehicle in Daybreak Blue to see in person...stopped by one dealer that claimed they had a Forrester on the lot (used) but that looked much more teal than blue and I can't tell if that's really the right thing without a window sticker.

I've seen the Sapphire Blue which is okay but kinda dark and I really want to see the Daybreak Blue

Interesting finding about Tesla chargers and how to park

I've seen a lot of people fussing about cars parked "crossways" across spaces - but just stumbled onto this which is how Tesla themselves say to park for non-Tesla EVs. They actually tell them to do that!

I've been reading up more, getting quite interested. I'm still stuck with a few questions I'm having a very hard time answering hopefully someone who has a Limited trim can help with?

  • Is it possible to permanently disable touch/wave/foot hatch to avoid unintentional opening? How hard is that?
  • Does cargo 120V power socket turn back on restarting the car - say you stop for a bathroom break and have a cooler plugged in there will it automatically start going when the car is turned back on, or do you have to hit the "on" button every time you get in the car?
  • How does Android Auto work? Is it plug-and-play, which location USB ports? Or does it require some kind of wireless-only?
  • Has anyone seen the wireless charging work? On our test-drive neither of our Samsung phones would indicate charging on the one we got to try (unsure why)

Kinda like the look of the blue colors...maybe if I find one and like the rest of the answers in my research I'll end up buying when I find one in stock somewhere. So far I've seen exactly one dark-grey one exactly once and the salesmen knew nothing about it and I couldn't get past the blue setup screen to play with anything..

As I've been reading up more, it sounds like the Toyota flavors of these and also the Solterra have limits of about 3 DCFC charging stops per day.

Has anyone been able to determine if that's the case for the Trailseeker?

While that may not be an issue for normal driving, I could absolutely see it being a problem if you load something on a roof rack or are towing on a trip making the mileage tank. I know some people who've towed with Teslas and had to stop twice as often as normal on the highway. Would really suck to be like 3/4 of the way to your destination and find out it won't let you charge to make the last leg!

I'm thinking about trading or selling my car, but I would want to remove some aftermarket accessories to keep (cellular amplifier, ham radio, OBD HUD, dash cam, EZPass) that I wouldn't want to remove until I'm ready to sign the papers.

The only possible place there could be any visible markings is if there's a minor paint swirl/mark where the rubber antenna mount clamps on (which I'd ideally polish out before selling after removal) and an 8 gauge power cable with quick-connect plug I'd leave under the seat and zip-tied in the trunk. Everything else was affixed in a way that is 100% easily removable (e.g. Velcro on carpet, ziptie to body panel, double-sticky on glass)

Would those significantly affect the price estimate I get if I have them appraise it while those are still on the car?

While I wait to hopefully ever see one...can anyone who's already found or purchased one tell what charging adapters does it come with?

I know the vehicle port is J3400/NACS/Tesla. But does it come with J1772 or CCS adapters so you can use regular non-Tesla public charging stations? Or are you on your own to buy those at extra cost?

Happens basically every day...lanes back up, people are in line with signals on waiting for it to widen...but no, others still have to form a line on the opposing lanes instead of waiting their turn.

Couldn't find a way to add additional images to the original post...some asked for additional details, here's those!

Scope images - showing the comparison of signals (one "bit" worth of carrier modulation as seen by a photo-diode) with the original Flipper built-in emitter, the "perfect" square-wave of the GPIO drive, the "bad" flashlight IR output, and the "good" flashlight IR output. Also shows the raw "turn the flashlight on" output of the IR LED pulsed driver vs no pulsing.

Schematic of the photo-diode sensor I used for my scope

Schematic of the MOSFET control circuitry

Video...I haven't found a good way to get video of it working which shows anything useful and wouldn't show more than I want...black screens reflect like a mirror and I kept getting images of myself in the video. Sorry its a slight bummer, but also it looks no different than when I'm using the Flipper directly. Maybe some time I can set up a test taking a TV outside and do a video of it from across the yard or something, but that won't happen today and probably not this week.

Ideally I also want to build a debug probe for my scope using an IR receiver module that will sense the IR signal and demodulate it...then I could use the scope to easily figure out whether or not the signal was detectable by a normal IR receiver that would be in a TV or whatever.

I know its not the first...but got around to buying a Chineseium flashlight and building an external IR emitter. Mine uses the flashlight's internal battery for power and has a high power MOSFET (with pull-down resistor so it's always off when disconnected) for the Flipper's GPIO to drive the flashlight's switching.

Had to buy a few flashlights and build an IR test sensor for my oscilloscope because some of the flashlights were modulating their LED driver and unable ro give a clean waveform when pulsed at the carrier for the IR codes.

Quite a learning experience!

Trying to find an appropriate muzzle to help stop grabbing trash out of the grass (unfortunately the apartment doesn't seem to care - people throw bones, trash, etc in the grass everywhere). Ongoing vet visit due to eating a bone or something before it could be wrestled away and don't want it to happen again.

Sizing seems really confusing though. We measured the nose-to-eye around 2 inches and circumference at the base of the muzzle meeting the bottom of the eyes around 7.5 inches.

The dogs are chihuahua mix but they're REALLY big for chihuahuas so that may not be the most useful description.

Looking at the Baskerville Classic seemed the best shape to keep stuff away from grabbing but the fit seems like it would be impossible needing a crazy big size for the length required.

Anyone have guidance?
