Anyone else miss games where you could just hand your friend a controller?
That’s a big part of why we’re making Couch Planes.
Up to 4-player split-screen, plus hybrid multiplayer, where you can take your couch crew online and kick some other couch butts.
Would you play something like this after work?
A few gameplay shots from our local multiplayer air racer
A fresh look at Couch Planes gameplay. The game supports split-screen for up to 4 players, plus hybrid multiplayer so you can bring your couch crew online and kick some other couch butts.
Tweaking some camera presets. Here’s a quick look at one of them.
Some moments deserve a closer look. (In slow motion. With a photo mode.)
A few gameplay snippets from Couch Planes.
Couch Planes is a fast-paced arcade flying game where you race through chaotic tracks, blast your rivals out of the sky, take risky shortcuts, dodge incoming rockets, and leave a trail of broken bridges, railings, and props behind you.
You can play locally with friends, jump into online matches with up to 12 players, or combine both and bring your couch crew into the chaos.
We’re currently preparing Playtest 3, it's coming soon and you can register here:

We asked for a reactive environment. Our FX artist chose violence.
This is where we race.
A brief look at Waterfalls, one of the most scenic tracks in Couch Planes. Peaceful temples, hanging paths and towering cliffs, with a full-speed race running right through it. Easily a 10/10 view.
Waterfalls, High Mountain Temples and a Quiet Village
Prototype vs Level Artist: "Hold my beer."
Prototype vs beta flythrough of our new Waterfalls map. Will be playable during our Playtest 3.

Our fast paced arcade plane racer will be playable on Steam Deck during the upcoming playtest
We’re preparing Couch Planes for an upcoming playtest, and one of the things we’re testing right now is Steam Deck support.
It’s a fast arcade plane racing party game built around speed, tight corners, power-ups, shortcuts, and all the chaos that comes from taking down your enemies.
The current build is still a work in progress, and what you see here is actual gameplay running on Steam Deck LCD. Would love to hear your feedback after you get to play it yourselves.

Our artists spent weeks placing objects around the tracks, so naturally we made them destructible.
We made planes drift because normal flying was too easy
A few in-game shots from Couch Planes, an air racing party game we’re working on.
Ban me if this is not how planes work
So we didn't just tweak the barrel roll - we ended up upgrading the whole flight model
Main changes are:
- twin-stick handling
- thumbstick barrel rolls
- faster acceleration
- higher top speed
- cleaner drift
- smoother collisions
- quicker recovery after takedown
Flying feel now less clunky, more responsive, sharper, faster, and simply more fun to control.
OLD vs NEW flight model — our arcade air racer now feels much faster, sharper, and more chaotic
We’ve been reworking the flight model in Couch Planes, and this clip shows a direct OLD vs NEW comparison at original gameplay speed.
Main changes:
- twin-stick handling
- thumbstick barrel rolls
- faster acceleration
- higher top speed
- cleaner drift
- smoother collisions
- quicker recovery after takedowns
The goal: less clunky, more responsive, faster, sharper, and more fun to control.
Curious what you think.

- light touchdowns no longer instantly kill your drift
- quicker recovery after takedowns
We’re not saying it’s perfect yet, but compared to where it was even 10 days ago, the game already feels much sharper, faster, and more aggressive.
The goal was to make the game feel less clunky, more responsive, and give it that aggressive bite, while keeping the chaotic arcade racing feel.
Curious what racing game fans think about this direction.
Our arcade flying party racer just got a new flight model
Couch Planes now feels faster, sharper, and more aggressive in the air - now with improved twin-stick flight controls: left stick for steering, right stick for barrel rolls and flips. Perfect for chases, dodges, shortcuts, and chaotic dogfights.
