Dave Fuglewicz - Liquid Audion [CODES] (Experimental synth/home recordings from early 2000s)

From Dave's notes:

"Liquid Audion Dave Fuglewicz
Released in October, 2000"

"Liquid Audion was released in October of the year 2000. This would mark the end of my analog only recordings on my solo releases. I would still be analog-only on the Lost City releases with Pete Comely.
My equipment at this time: ARP 2600, ARP Odyssey, ARP Sequencer, Roland TR-707 Drum machine, modified Casio keyboard, Digitech 7.6 Delay, several effects "stomp" boxes and some home made synthesizer modules. This release marked my first CD Release."

One of my favorites of his (I liked the miniseries too)

The strangest thing about this book is that King doesn't think Oswald was part of a conspiracy. He claims that he has read piles of books floor to ceiling about the JFK assassination but still thinks that a man walked into a book depository on his lunch break and did the thing from a window with a somewhat obstructed view.

In recent unredacted CIA documents, the owner of the book depository was said to have met with agents and the mafia! Gerald Ford replied to a letter stating that a missing bullet was not accounted for during the autopsy.

But anyway, I'm not that fixated on the JFK issue, the miniseries was good! I liked that the screenwriter wasn't entirely loyal to the book, but I do enjoy the book.

Gary Beauvais (MAMMAL) interview

MAMMAL is the primary outlet for Michigan’s Gary Beauvais, who also ran the Animal Disguise label since at least 2001. MAMMAL’s tendency began with electronic noise often punctuated by drum machines. 2003’s Double Nature stands as one of my favorite fixtures of rhythmic harsh noise, and it was allegedly released on CD because an attempt at doing the vinyl edition destroyed the plate cutters, due to wild frequencies and damaging density. 2007’s Lonesome Drifter marked a distinctive shift in direction, with a more structured, more dirge-like territory that is appropriately warm and dusty. 2024’s Deserted was even more psychedelic, characterized by a bleakness that could only come from true isolation. Beauvais is also a talented visual artist with a distinctive style, who sells prints on his bandcamp page from time to time.

Down In The Dirt

Apparently this lit mag has been active in some form since the '90s, but it started as a column and expanded in 2004. That would explain why the site looks like it was made in Windows '95. But I have been enjoying it. It's not the collegiate creative writing backwash that we're used to. They have print editions available, but everything is free on their site.
