Why do you think generalizing women’s behavior is often viewed as more unacceptable than generalizing men’s behavior?

This is just a just a genuine question, not trying to rage bait or justify generalizing either group. I’ve just noticed that broad statements about men often seem to receive less anger than similarly broad statements about women, and I’m just wondering why that it is that way
