There’s just nobody else out there in the same realm as Nathan Fielder, he’s his own genre, his own medium.

How would you describe his style of “comedy,” and what do you think his philosophy is when he makes shows like The Rehearsal and Nathan For You? The genius of what he does seems to me to be his ability to bring out performances in absurd and surreal situations in unwitting people.

I feel like it’s hard to even describe Nathan Fielder’s style to someone that’s never seen his work. It’s just so unique and I’ve never seen something like it before. There’s all sorts of bizzare, awkward, kafkaesque comedians out there but Nathan is just transcendent. It’s like loop of irony and post irony spun 100 times around itself.

I just saw the teaser trailer for “You can see everything” and it really looks like the pinnacle of this sort of bizzare surreal humor that Nathan does. Elizabeth Holmes is like the IRL Nathan Fielder. Nathan is a genius comedian and Elizabeth is an actual psychopath. And it’s so fascinating seeing these two interact because we seem to finally be reaching that boundary where the irony is actually sincerity and Elizabeth is just actually a fucking weirdo.

I've had the opportunity to use GPT 5.6 Terra and Fable 5 and found the latter to have a superior ability to research and write, but I'm curious how has the gap closed now? Which model would you use for writing quality essay work, and would you use the same model to plan out and do the complex reason required to decide on argumentation, evidence, research, etc?

I am 5 classes into the program. I tried taking 2 classes a semester prior to the summer while I wasn’t working, to finish faster and it hasn’t worked out. I got a C in HPCA due to procrastination and the large amount of material. I took IIS and I’m ngl I didnt do too well and got a C. The other two classes I got Bs in. The class I finished over the summer was ICS and I got an A. Im signed up for relatively lighter class this fall but I’m wondering about my future in the program.

I’m really worried about GA because everyone says it sucks. I’m working fulltime now but I want to take GIOS, AOS, CN, and GA (have to), as my last 4 classes. How F’ed do you think I am?

I’m opening myself up here so please don’t get too mad at me but in one of my classes I wasn’t a good group member. During the optional group final project, I rightfully got torn a new one and got the angriest online message I’ve ever gotten which was embarrassing.

I’m starting to remember the message more, I think it specifically said “good luck with the program, never contact me again, forget I exist. Thanks for nothing.” It was like 3 paragraphs long on an ultra wide monitor. Really long intense message. I can’t make any excuses on that it was just objectively wrong of me. Thinking of what happened there makes me nauseous.

I do have the drive to continue with the program and I really want to get better at low level systems programming stuff which is why I chose the classes I did. I know that I could very easily do an HCI track and I sort of am at the moment just to lighten my load but I do intend to finish the Computing Systems specialization. What advice do you guys for me based on this? Should I downgrade to easier classes, continue with my plan, or quit all together? My grades so far are A,B,B,C,C.

I've been putting off watching it because I just know I will be a mess. And I was a mess. The cut to the Top Gear shots of them on the sand island really got me, and when Jeremy unscrewed the microphone and the audio died. I must say, TG + GT is like the greatest show of all time. Match made heaven those three were. I'm so happy I got to watch this show. So many of my friend groups began when we sat down and bonded over an episode of Top Gear. Thanks Jeremy, James, Hammond, and crew.

FogCam is one of the oldest webcams on the Internet, first launched at San Francisco State University in 1994 by students Jeff Schwartz and Dan Wong. Originally created as a simple experiment to let people remotely see what was happening on campus, the camera has continued operating for more than three decades. It periodically captures an image of the university and makes it available online, providing a remarkably simple way to observe a small part of San Francisco from anywhere in the world.

It predates major parts of the modern Internet and has survived enormous changes in computing and online culture. While most early websites and Internet projects disappeared as technology evolved, FogCam remained largely unchanged.

I have taken the liberty of running an automated script on a NAS I own to capture the every frame of FogCam that happens. I have 75,000 frames so far over 27 days.

The reason I felt like doing this was preservation, but also because all of the earliest frames from the 1990s and early 2000s are gone or unarchived and it would've been so cool to see that.

Something cool that happens in this video is you can watch a construction zone get finished.

I just feel like the stories I constantly see around me and on the internet go like "I'm Bob and I took my family and I from Los Angeles, California to Murfeesboro, Tennessee." or some variation of that. Where I live (in the deep south, small town) I know lots of people who moved here from New York or California, or Massachusetts. I feel like I'm weird for wanting to move from my boring, affordable, southern area to a higher cost of living place up northeast or out west in California. Am I weird and bad at finances or is there more to it?

Hi American here. I binged Derry Girls on Netflix and I thought Ireland had so much charm and I thought they really portrayed how unique and interesting the culture is. I’ve never been to Ireland but yall seem very lovely. Very funny charming show.
