Renting at 165 Legion Rd N in Humber Bay

My wife and I are considering renting a south facing unit at 165 Legion Rd N (Etobicoke: Humber Bay Shores) and would love to hear from people who currently live there or have lived there recently.

How bad is the train noise?

How far is the walk to the Humber Bay Parks? Is it an inconvenience?

How is parking and visitor parking?

How is the community/atmosphere in the building?

How is the commute to downtown? And getting in and out by car?

Are there any upcoming construction to be concerned about?

Also any and all insights are welcome, thank you!

Square One vs Port Credit. Which area is better for condo living?

My wife and I are looking to rent a condo in Mississauga and are currently deciding between Square One and Port Credit.

We're looking for a 1+1 with a $2,700 budget. For those who have lived in either area, which do you prefer and why?

I'm mainly interested in the quality of condos, neighbourhood feel, walkability, and general pros/cons of each area.

We haven't lived in either area before, so if you had to choose between the two for condo living, which would you pick?

Hosting my first Murder Mystery Party, any tips?

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but finally pulled the trigger! I’m nervous and want to make sure everyone will have a good time. Has anyone hosted in the past? Any tips or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated!

So far I’ve ordered a premade kit from Night of Mystery and printed out all the required documents. I’ve also created a group chat with the 10 attendees/friends and gave them an intro of what it’ll be like. I’ll have food, drinks, and a few themed decorations ready. Am I missing anything?

When will Blizzard address the inoperable and hazardous forklifts that are found across multiple maps?

While Eichenwalde and Paraíso are both getting reworks to make them more balanced, Blizzard is once again neglecting the one thing that makes the game truly unplayable: their forklift model.

I never expected them to design a forklift with complete accuracy, and indeed there are many aspects of the design that don't appear to make logical sense (i.e. the control levers, the steering wheel, the science-fiction reimagining of a gas cylinder) however I can suspend my disbelief for a great many of these and accept the straightforward justification that it looks like that because it's from the future. There are, however, a couple of glaring features such that, at a glance, a player can discern that this machine is not only unsafe, but essentially inoperable.

  1. The rear wheels of the forklift, which are the wheels used for steering, have absolutely no space in the wheel well to turn even a mere degree. There is some semblance of a steer axle between them, but it is helpless to do anything. Before someone suggests that perhaps the front wheels steer on this model (and if that were the case, the future of warehouse operations looks bleak) they are also tightly constrained by the chassis. Good luck getting anything done when your forklift is bound to one axis.

  2. The forklift carriage is completely devoid of a load backrest, which would help keep the load secure, preventing it from shifting backwards and potentially falling onto the operator. This would especially be an issue for the operations of the Havana forklift pictured above, as the Don Rumbotico Distillery seems to already be palletising its stock in an unstable fashion under the illegitimate leadership of Maximilien. One must hope the glass-like material acting as an overhead guard is of some sturdy futuristic alloy, otherwise the operator can expect a case of rum to come crashing through it.

How I wish I could simply walk back from spawn and ignore the fixed countenance of this infernal, unturning forklift, but it smashes my immersion like a sledgehammer. The illusion of the machine is gone, and the whole map begins to unravel around it. Players, objects, textures-- flat images on a flat screen, but even these images are losing their form. I see each flashing pixel alone, meaningless, while the whole has become incomprehensible. My teammates ask for help on payload but their pleas melt into the universal din. All senses becoming one; the one becoming unfeeling. I lift my voice to the choir, a silent scream echoing down the hallway of our infant universe, calling me back to the cosmic singularity before time. This is especially inconvenient for my team as I usually play tank so they really need me. I hope Blizzard will consider fixing this.

Best album to listen to on repeat for honeymoon

My wife and I are going on a 12 day trip to Portugal and want to have one album on repeat so that later on whenever we hear a song from the album it floods us nostalgia from our honeymoon.

She’s been into country recently, but it really doesn’t have to be a country album. We’d just like for it to be a feel good album if possible, summer happy vibes :)

Is whale watching dangerous?

My wife and I are visiting SM in 2 weeks and wanted to book a whale watching tour possibly with Terra Azul.

I know the people that run this are very professional and know how to respect the wildlife, but I just wanted to confirm that it’s not a ‘dangerous’ activity. I have no experience with marine wild animals and may be overthinking this, so any advice is appreciated.

Doctor won’t refer for MRI or neurologist, should we push harder?

Posting because I’m getting worried about my wife and not sure if we should be pushing harder with our doctor.

For the past few months, she’s been having these random really quick, electric shocks in her right upper cheek (sudden zap) and then feeling tender for a few seconds after. It’s been happening much more frequently last week (4+ times a day).

We went to the doctor and he mentioned it could be trigeminal neuralgia, but didn’t refer her to a neurologist or order an MRI which is making me uneasy and worried.

From what I’ve been reading online, this sounds consistent with trigeminal neuralgia, and I’m VERY concerned about it getting much worse.

I’d really appreciate if anyone can share their experiences if they dealt with similar stuff?

Is it reasonable to ask for an MRI at this point?

Any advice or experiences would really help. I just want to make sure we’re not overlooking something. Thank you helpful humans!
