Minutes before scoring the Equalizer for Portugal, this was Cristiano Ronaldo's insane touch and finish for Portugal, which was ruled offside.
Roberto Martinez took Bruno Fernandes OFF in minute 62 while Portugal were LOSING! And 5 minutes later, they scored. Hasty or Correct decision by the manager?
Why do Colombian players and Colombian people like Cristiano Ronaldo so much? [Rant]
Even though Colombia played their hearts out, this did not feel like the Colombia I know. At no point in the game did it feel like they were trying to take Cristiano Ronaldo's leg off, like the way they tried to do with Messi. They BULLIED MESSI, they showed Messi zero respect before, during and after the game, I don't understand WHY?!! But look at how they treated Cristiano Ronaldo, greeting him before the game during the warmups, inside the tunnel before the game, during half time breaks and even after the game! They even posted pictures and stories with him all over their social media profiles ffs! And spoke highly of their admiration for him in their post match interviews!! WHY??!!
I just don't get it! Can't they see he's FINISHED!! While messi is still scoring! Why can't they show the same love for Messi??! Colombia is a south american nation, so is Argentina, shouldn't they show this level of camaraderie for a GOAT that's from their continent and arguably similar culture, instead of a OLD GOAT from a foreign continent and foreign culture from them?!
This match REALLY pissed me off, James Rodriguez I kinda understand, he was friends and under Cristiano's apprenticeship during his time at Real Madrid so I kinda get why he's all buddy buddy with him even now. But what about the rest?! Why do other Columbian players who have nothing to do with Cristiano still gel with him so well?
Isn't Columbia known for fouling and what not as the games get physical and they're not winning? Why didn't they do that with cristiano?! They were so harsh with Messi, why so friendly with Ronaldo?!
I apologise if this isn't a jerk and inappropriate for this sub, i didn't know where else to vent my frustrations about this. I'm just so annoyed how irl out of reddit or media, i never see Cristiano get hated the way he does here. Reddit is the only solace, ig, x, youtube, and all other big social media platforms are always praising him, I hate it, and irl no one seems to call out just how finished this guy is. The stadium was full of Colombian supporters, as the match took place in Miami, yet Cristiano was getting cheered by the opposing fans crowd the whole time, what is wrong with colombian people?! And they're people who are usually so hostile to the opposition!
Like I'd get it if this was a prime cristiano ronaldo, he was handsome, muscular, tall and charming in his prime and I can get how his rebel kind of personality would resonate with some. But why now?!! He's none of those things now, he's Finished!! The only conclusion I can make and I'm sorry for this colombian people, it's that your stereotype of the whole pablo Escobar era/coke and whatnot is actually kinda true, and only these kind of personality is loved by your country. Where a humble sweet innocent harmless introverted man, a hero like messi is disliked, but an extroverted dangerous popular jerk, a villain like cristiano ronaldo is loved.
Fabio Cannavaro: "I told the players that if we give Cristiano Ronaldo a centimetre, we're dead. That happened and he scored two goals. I retired many years ago and he's still playing. I told him you can still play for several more years—don't retire. If you are performing like this, why walk away?"
Fabio Cannavaro, Uzbekistan's coach, Italian football legend, Former Real Madrid defender and one of the greatest defenders of all time, who won the 2006 ballon d'or while playing for Real Madrid after the Portugual v Uzbekistan spoke on the greatest real player of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo with whom he had shared the field many times: "I told the players that if we give Cristiano Ronaldo a centimetre, we're dead. That happened and he scored two goals.
"I retired many years ago, I played with him and he's still playing. I told him you can still play for several more years—don't retire. If you are performing like this, why walk away?' Continue to enjoy the game."
Despite the narrative, Cristiano Ronaldo didn't brush off questions about Lionel Messi. He answered about Messi cordially over 3 times before asking the "Reporters" to focus on Portugal and only ask questions that were relevant to the Portugal v Uzbekistan game that had just taken place
Translations below,
Reporter: "...Messi arrived, Mbappé arrived, Haaland arrived, and only Ronaldo was missing. Today Cristiano showed that he has arrived, that he came for Portugal, so has Cristiano arrived today?"
Cristiano Ronaldo: "I always arrive. Sooner or later, I am always there."
Reporter: "...Ronaldo against Messi, to close out the spectacular career of you all. What can you say about a great encounter between the two of you happening at this worldcup? If it can happen, would you like it? To face Messi at this worldcup directly in a match And congratulations on this great game and your great career."
Cristiano Ronaldo: "Well, I don't know what to answer you because it's a question that's a bit...it doesn't make much sense, it's out of my hands, but alright. If it happens, it would be top [great]. But the most important thing today was winning, and to advance in the group for Portugal, that's the most important thing for me, and for my team."
Reporter: "Cristiano here... Edgar Rosa from AT&T Sports Mexico..."
Cristiano Ronaldo: "Do you speak Spanish or English?"
Reporter: "Yesterday Lionel Messi, scored two goals..."
[At this point, Cristiano's patience appears to have run dry, and he signals to other reporters to ask their questions]
Cristiano Ronaldo was asked about Messi over 4 times, and he politely answered each time.
Only after the questions kept getting more and more irrelevant to the game between Portugal and Uzbekistan did Cristiano Ronaldo appear to be unable to take it anymore and ask the "journalists" to ask questions that are only relevant to Portugal.

The mood in the studio was grim as Portugal won 5-0 with a RONALDO brace. Zlatan and Henry did not care to analyse Cristiano Ronaldo as deeply as they did post the Congo game.
Why is everyone so fat in USA? I'm currently travelling across many us cities for the worldcup, and I don't mean to be rude, but the average American seems borderline obese, is this a cultural thing or a different standard of what's considered normal?
reddit.comReporter: "Who's better between You, Haaland, Kane and Messi?" Mbappe: Lionel Messi, for sure. He's the best alongside Cristiano Ronaldo."
Killian Mbappe was earlier asked who is better among the 4 players (Lionel Messi, himself, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane) playing at the FIFA World Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo's name wasn't mentioned by the reporter, Mbappe still brought him up unprompted on his own, much to the reporter's dismay.

France next face Iraq, for their second match in the group stage of the worldcup.
Graeme Souness: "Even If Ronaldo had retired 10 years ago in 2016, his place at the top- where only Pelé, Maradona and his great rival Messi sit - would already have been secured. He wouldn't need to kick another ball, as he'd already achieved so much. I love that the Ronaldo I know is arrogant."
"The Ronaldo I know is arrogant and I love him for it. If Ronaldo had retired 10 years ago, after leading Portugal to success at Euro 2016, his place at the top table - where Pelé, Diego Maradona and his great rival Lionel Messi sit - would already have been secured. He wouldn't have needed to kick another ball, as he'd already achieved so much."

"Yet here he is, still pushing himself to the limit. I'm sure some of you will say he is driven by ego, and you would have a point. What I would say to that, though, is there is no top footballer who doesn't have an ego or arrogance and Ronaldo is the best of the best."

"What sets him apart, in my eyes, is the fact that every day clearly remains a school day. I cannot tell you how much I love and respect that approach. The standards he sets and expects are meticulous. I had many arguments with people after the second time he left Manchester United in November 2022. The club backed Erik ten Hag, a manager who was on borrowed time, over Ronaldo and I could not get my head around it."

"If you are a young player in a dressing room and you had the chance to study Ronaldo, what would you see? Outstanding professionalism, that's what. Look at how he eats, how he trains, the time he spends in the gym, regardless of how many medals he has won or the money he has in the bank. Men like that set the example and successful dressing rooms are enriched by them."

"It was a Tuesday night in August 2003 when one of the greatest to ever play the game unexpectedly crossed my path. I was manager of Blackburn Rovers and living in Cheshire. The new Premier League season was only five days away, so my wife, Karen, and I had decided to take the chance to go for some dinner in a restaurant we enjoyed in Alderley Edge."

"Paul Stretford, Wayne Rooney's agent, walked through the door and shouted "hello" to us as we ate. He was accompanied by Jorge Mendes, another agent, and, finally, a tall, 18- year-old kid who, we were told, had just signed for Manchester United."

"Unbeknown to us, we were in the presence of a future global star. It did not turn out too badly for Cristiano Ronaldo, did it? It is 23 years since that meeting, and I marvel at the fact he is at another World Cup - his sixth, for goodness' sake - and still hell-bent on breaking records. His exploits leave you in awe."

ESPN stole the tweet and turned it into a Messi PR… I can’t lmfao
For over 90 minutes Bruno Fernandes did not create a single chance in the Portugual v DR Congo match. His first chance created only came in the 92nd minute of the game. (Source: ESPN)

Hey, people. How do I deal with this? Have you all verified your ages or given them any ID? HELP
Hey any update on what you did on the age ID verification prompt on your character ai's? Did you verify it? Or have you stopped using cai itself, from that account and created a new one? This is annoying asf.
Is there a loophole or trick to make that go away? I just had this happen to me today and now I can't use the app anymore unless i verify and it's locked in read only mode. I saw this happening to some people since the last few months, and now it's happening to me also, I'm curious how those who've dealt with it, tackled it.
I don't wanna verify because that's too personal for a casual ai chatting app lol. Will really appreciate your input on this. If this is permanent for my account, I think it's time i quit the app for good...
Help me find this college romance manhwa
It's a college/young adult romance manhwa, ML has a bit of sister complex for his adopted sister at the start of the story. His sister is a white Lotus, and only friends with FL to demean or put her down. FL starts to avoid or end her friendship with his sister, and that makes the ML hostile/target her.
In the beginning, it's more creepy than romantic, although he never physically harms her or anything, but he's very much against her and thinks she's the one causing his sister's problems, as the story progresses he realises how two faced the sister is, and slowly breaks free from her influence and turns into a green flag?
FL has black hair or something I think. ML may have had silver or dark silver-ish hair, and his villainess adopted sister has pinkish hair I think?
(I'm not sure about the hair Colors as it's been many years since I read it)
What I'm absolutely sure of is, it's a modern romance story, not Isekai or regression.
ML and fl also date while in college.
I wanted to know how this story ended, but I can't remember the title at all, if someone knows, I'll really appreciate your help.
Hey should i update my S10 FE + Tab to One Ul version: 8.5?
I bought this tab 3 months ago, and couldn't be happier with it. It's great, i mainly bought it for artistic purposes, and the spen performance is excellent. It never lags in day to day usage either. I haven't done much gaming on it, as that wasn't my requirement.
But here's the thing, I've often heard that samsung gradually systematically slows down your device kinda year by year with updates, is that true? The last time i updated this Tab was in March 2026, and I noticed no issues or slowing down. But, I used to be a heavy samsung user before Covid, and did notice that my devices would get slow, so I stopped buying stuff from samsung last 4-5 years. But I was in need of a tablet with great latency performance in the stylus department, so I bought a galaxy tab again after years of not using samsung, and I was so pleasantly surprised at it's performance.
The thing is, although I bought my Tab S10 FE plus, 3 months ago in Feb 2026. I guess it was released in April 2025 worldwide I think. So it's been a year since this tablet model was launched, and i fear that now that it's been a year since this model was launched, updates might start slowing the devices again.
Should I update it, or am I fear mongering for no reason? I have no idea how updates have been for samsung users these last few years. Can you guys please tell me what's been your experience with updates, does it improve or worsen your devices performance? Because I'd hate it if the tablet I've purchased only few months ago started slowing down due to it.
